Some count it as 10...but I'm not complaining! This is the best price ever! Thank you very much for sharing this CampbellzSoup. It has made my day. For once, I wasn't going to buy this movie, but now I will because the price is so good!

I wasn't planning on buying this, but now I have scraped the "only Pixar and Studio Ghibli films on blu-ray" rule and added, "Walt's films too."

Being the anal collector I am...do I buy it in a blu-ray or DVD case? Match all my DVDs or my few blu-rays? I'm leaning towards blu-ray because I already have the Platinum on DVD. Let me know what case you guys are getting.

I ended up with 3 copies...

But I swear it wasn't intentional. I first ordered the BIG HONKING ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S BIG EXPENSIVE BOX from amazon.com, which comes with the Blu-Ray case. Then Disney Store came out with their limited edition 17-inch doll, which could only be bought with a preorder of the DVD case online. And finally, Best Buy had their exclusive Steelbook, which I preordered with the Blu-Ray case, although I don't have to pick it up, so I might not, but it's only an extra $6.50 with the coupon. I figure I can hang on to it and sell it in about 6 years for a lot of money on eBay.

Wow, any chance Best Buy would price match Toys R Us' price of $20, after we already pre-ordered it for $25, and accept the $10 off coupon? That would make it $20 - $7.50 reservation/SteelBook - $10 coupon = $2.50 I pay when I go to pick it up. At that point, its way cheaper then buying a DVD lol

Anyone know Best Buys policies well enough to know whether or not they would accept all of those discounts (price match, coupon, and pre-order money down)?

Best Buy is pretty good about letting you use lots of discounts all at once, but I doubt they will price match anything you preordered because you already committed to that price. So to sum it up, they should accept the coupon, but I doubt they will price match.

Best Buy will price match up to 30 days after purchase. They will have to adjust the price when you pick up your pre-order anyway, to reflect the $7.50 you already put down. So at that time I would show them the ad for Toys R Us' $19.99. (They will probably end up having a manager come over to override the additional $5.00 they will have to take off for price matching.) And then you can use the coupons.

This is a complicated decision for me.. I know I am getting both the DVD combo pack and the 2-Disc DVD set.. but I'll probably end up getting the Blu Ray combo pack too since I have the 10 dollar off coupon for both the Blu Ray and DVD combo (just print out two coupons) and I want both cases.

I'm very nit picky when it comes to collecting.. so if it means spend 15 dollars for an extra copy of the movie in a Blu Ray case so be it.

I hope your right, as this would be a killer in savings

If not, it won't hurt to bring Toys R Us' flyer anyways.

I've tried price matching at my local Best Buy on the day of release and they wouldn't let me price match. I guess I can try and see if it'll work this time. I wouldn't mind buying it for $10 and still getting some Reward Zone points. I'll see what happens next Tuesday.

I'll just sit back and wait patiently for the conniption that Deco King will have when he learns that the "Witch at the Cauldron" deleted scene isn't included (along with a variety of other things).

Well that sucks, I wonder why they threw out so much bonus material? The deleted scenes and the radio segments are the ones I'm most interested in. I don't own the previous DVD so hopeful all the omitted material will be on YouTube or somewhere (is it too much to dream that they add it latter and really make use of BDLive like Paramount did with Transformers?)

I have a theory on why Disney didn't include so many bonus features that should have been carried over. When Disney rereleases Platinum Editions (or Diamond in this case), the previous editions flood sites like eBay and Amazon Marketplace, giving consumers who don't care about the new features or restoration the option of getting a copy really cheap. But since so much was not carried over, owners of the previous DVD who want those features will hang on to those discs, causing less to go back into the market to compete with the current release.

This isn't anything new either. Most of Disney's rereleases leave something off the current edition, even if it is something as small as a trailer. It's a tactic that at least works for people like me, as I often keep the previous editions when features aren't ported over.

That makes sense, I mean, carrying over the 2001 restoration featurette wouldn't make much sense since it's no longer indicative of the restoration. I'm sure some of the interviews for the 2001 doc and featurettes were used in the new stuff too, so losing them isn't too bad. But really, there's some stuff whose absence is confusing ("Witch at the Cauldron" for example...unless they decided to put it into the film and none of the reviewers noticed it yet...).

If people get bent out of shape over the original filmmakers making changes to Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, can you imagine the outcry if they altered Snow White? lol.
