Thanks Wonderlici! I mean Wonderlicious. I'll check the chatroom site out soon. And I like it when people play pranks...unless they are something like Them: "Mike...ummm...w're really sorry but...your grandmother just died." Me: "WHAT?! OH GOD NO! NOOOOO! I NEVER GOT TO SPEND MUCH TIME WITH HER! I'M A BAD GRANDKID! OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Them: "Kust kidding!" Because then you get Me:

And thank you, too, Pasta! You've been responding to my posts a lot, and they've all been really nice, and also funny. You and Wonderlicious are quite hilarious!

Welcome to the forum, katiekat! I very much hope you enjoy being a part of the small yet substantial group of Minnesotans on UD! 9 cats? I can hardly handle one! :tink:

Thanks! Both Sleeping Beauty and Pollyanna both have a special connection for me... that's one of the main reasons why I love them so much!

Perhaps I should introduce myself:

My name is Andrew.

I have two loves in my life: Disney and Broadway/Musicals.

I am an actor.

My favorite color is green.

I have gone to Disney World every year since I was 4.

I have done the Disney Cruise Line once.

I plan on going to CA next summer to do the DL and DCA parks for the first time.

My favorite food is Chick-fil-A.

My favorite Disney movie is....HAH! YOU THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PICK ONE?? I truly love most all of them.

I especially love Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Mary Poppins, and Monsters, Inc.

My favorite television shows are: Family Guy, I Love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Taxi, Laverne & Shirley, Survivor, Amazing Race, American Idol, the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Tony Awards, AFI Tributes, AFI Specials, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, ER, Hell's Kitchen, Jay Leno, David Letterman, The Rosie O'Donnell Show (RIP!), Ellen, Regis & Kelly, Star Trek: Voyager (none of the others), and I am a sucker for TV specials/award shows, in case you didn't get that already.

My favorite films are: Well, let's group them:

Chris Columbus: An underappreciated director: Home Alone, Home Alone 2, Stepmom, Bicentennial Man, Mrs. Doubtfire.

Musicals: Funny Girl, Funny Lady, West Side Story, Hello Dolly, Guys & Dolls, Chicago, Mouline Rouge (one of my all time favorite films in any genre!), oh hell, who am I kidding? I love nearly all of them.

Documentaries: Broadway: The Golden Age, Broadway - The American Musical, Super Size Me, and bonus features on Disney DVDs.

Others: Hook, Batman Begins, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, (no, not Batman & Robin. No no no.), The Terminal, Finding Neverland, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Hey Andrew! Great post... Your interest with musicals is very interesting. That's the first I've heard of a "real" musical fan. I'm also quite the fan myself, especially Disney Broadway productions and cinema musicals!

Well...when I was 3-ish, my mom bought me Peter Pan. That was the very first Disney movie that I've seen. It's still my favorite to this day. My mom recalls me watching it every day when I was a kid.

I haven't seen many Disney movies in theaters. I saw the Lion King, Pocahontas, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, and Atlantis in theaters, but that's it.

The first movie I saw in theatres was Fantasia and I was about 8. I loved "The Sorcerers Apprentice" and that stuck with me.

I figured I'd post my intro here! So hi everyone! I'm new here and boy am I glad I found this site! I sort of "collect" DVDs and especially Disney DVDs ('cause of that whole vault thing). This site is perfect for me 'cause I always like to make sure I have the best DVD version of any movie I buy. :D

So I'll probably be making posts a lot (I usually do on other forums) and I'll TRY not to spam too much

Welcome to the forums, Rexcrk! :eye:

I hope you have a lot of fun posting here. If you have any questions about anything, just ask.

This is the closest thing we have to a welcoming thread, but I don't think we never actually made it official. You can post there and tell us about how you got into Disney.

On an off-topic note, why was that thread un-stickied?

The first movie (Disney or otherwise) I ever saw in theaters was Aladdin! That obviously has something to do with my love of Disney. As a little kid I was never really into Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast. I loved Brave Little Toaster and had that taped from TV. I also liked the classics such as Snow White, Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Bambi. Tarzan, Mulan, and Hercules are great movies too. I never really got into the Disney movie past the year 2000 for some reason. A couple years ago (I was either a freshman or a sophomore) we were playing Disney songs in band and I was like "Hey, I haven't watched Beauty and the Beast in a really long time" and watched it when I came home that day. I fell in love and was lucky enough to find it on DVD at The Disney Store (with slipcase and everything!).

Hello ::

I would like to introduce myself. As you can tell by my user name ... I am a Muppet fan ... just as much as I am a Disney fan.

I was born in Los Angeles ... raised in Miami, FL. I have been a Disney fan since I was born. My parents and I went on our first Disney World trip when I was 2. :earsguy:

Ever since I was a little kid I collected videos. My video collection started with Disney VHS tapes. I have vivid memories of buying Disney tapes ... getting The Little Mermaid for my birthday (because it was the latest VHS out from Disney) ... buying Beauty and the Beast and watching it in our trailer (because we had just been hit by Hurricane Andrew and our house was not in a good condition). I remember buying those Disney Afternoon compilations (Goof Troop ... Darkwing Duck ... etc.) I remember having the Muppet movies on VHS ... Fraggle Rock ... and the Muppet Show ... when Disney released them.

I think my first theatrical Disney experience was Peter Pan when I was younger.

On VHS ... I bought a lot of the Black Diamonds ... which evolved into the Masterpiece Collection. I didn't purchase any of the Gold Collection VHS tapes because DVD was starting to emerge.

I was very hesitant to dump all my VHS tapes and start purchasing DVDs. My Disney VHS tapes and my "regular" VHS tapes added up to a heck of a lot. Basically I had friends and relatives asking me if I ran a Video rental service ... that's how many tapes I had.

Then the fall of 1999 came and Disney emerged in the DVD game. They released the barebones ... but collectible Limited Issues. If I recall correctly ... I had 6 of the 9 Limited Issues. Then i took a break from Disney DVDs. I felt I had outgrown Disney ... and Disney and I broke up.

It wasn't until -- believe it or not -- Tarzan & Jane that I got my Disney mojo back. I had viewed Tarzan in the movie theaters ... on opening weekend with my little cousin ... so when I got T&J as a gift from my best friend ... it brought back memories of the original ... and the previews on the DVD inspired me to start collecting again. One of the previews was for the Peter Pan: SE.

So ... I was stuck ... I was like ... I have these 6 LIs ... I would like to have the last 3 that are missing. I did searches online ... and I found on two different sites the final missing 3 -- The Jungle Book ... Lion King 2 ... and Peter Pan. (I bought the PP LI for completion).

Within a 6-8 month span, I purchased all the Gold Collection DVDs and the Collector's Editions. I have also kept up with the Platinum Editions ... Masterpiece Edition ... and Special Editions.

So basically ... after Cinderella comes out on DVD on Oct., I will have my Disney Theatrical Animation Library completed.

So, since I consider myself a collector ... I have the Special Editions ... I buy the big box sets (i.e. Ultimate Toy Box) and I loveeeeeeeeee the WD Treasures line. I also buy the TV show compliation DVDs ... and DTVs.

Besides Disney on DVD ... I am a big fan of TV on DVD ... I have everything from I Love Lucy to Bewitched to 227 to The Simpsons to Family Guy to Futurama to Soul Food to OZ to Buffy to Angel to Sex and the City to Seinfeld to Looney Tunes to Dasterdly and Mutley and Their Flying Machines to Top Cat to The Nanny to Eerie Indiana to Alias to Lois & Clark to Kingpin to Fat Actress to The Fresh Prince of Bel Aire to The Jamie Foxx Show to Saved by the Bell to Murder She Wrote to Gargoyles ...

Besides TV on DVD ... I have movies on DVD in the 500+ range ... and CDs in about the same number.

Now ... my favorite Disney movie of all time? Lady and the Tramp.

I have a fondness for all of the Disney movies. Some of my other favorites are: Bedknobs and Broomsticks ... Oliver & Company ... Mary Poppins ... Sleeping Beauty ... The Great Mouse Detective ... The Black Cauldron ... Lilo & Stitch ... The Emperor's New Groove ... The Little Mermaid and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

Welcome Rowlf! Nice story. I also grew apart from Disney for a little while, but then I got back into Disney. Especially now that my favorite movie, Cinderella, is coming to Platinum Edition DVD! I'm glad you've collected so many of the movies. It's really funny how people thought you had a video rental. Your some Disney fan! Hey, and by the way it's also nice for you now because Lady and the Tramp is the next Disney Platinum Edition release after Cinderella! Will you be getting it, even though you already have the Limited Issue DVD?

I'm also relatively new to this forum. I suppose the earliest Disney memories for me involve seeing Pete's Dragon in the theatre and as a kid hauling around Pinocchio dolls (all of which ended up getting their hands and feet chewed off by Murphy, the family dog). I'm trying to build up my Disney DVD collection for my little nephew (born in March of this year) and potentially for my own offspring. Anyway, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.

Disney Duster ::

Thank you for the welcome! I think most people usually break away from Disney at some point for whatever reason ... mine was because I had entered high school and thought I should outgrow Disney. Now thinking as the adult I am ... I really regret turning away from the mouse.

I am really excited that Cindy is coming on DVD this fall ... That will be the title that completes my Disney Animation Collection.

I am really excited that L&T will be coming to the Platinum Line in March. Even though I have the LI ... I will still be purchasing the PE. Since I collect ... I do not mind double-dipping (yea ... I said it LOL ... I know some on this forum are opposed to it LOL) ... I know this new PE will definitely surpass my LI ... but I will keep it out of completion ... because I have the other LIs.
