I recently watched a Touchstone release on DVD called My Father the Herp. It was passable, though at times lame and predictable, with bad special effects and unconvinving acting on the girl's part. Oh well...

Went to the theater and saw Snakes on a Plane for the third time!! This movie rocks, and is the summer movie hit of this or any other summer. Just a whole lot of fun, and it will make you laugh, cry and scream - all in the same breath. Don't miss this one!!

Last night I watched 'Sophie's Choice.

I think that Meryl Streep really made this film, I had to keep reminding myself that she isn't really Polish. I did expect a little more, I have to admit, but I am still impressed with what I saw.

A good blind buy! (Which is what it was :P )

I watched Grease 2 again :D . I think I'm going to take a little break from it, though, some of my favorite parts are losing a bit of their effect. I still love it though!

I watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I must admit going into it I was expecting this cheesy teenage booper flick. I was pleasantly surprised. This is a great film with such heart and emotion. Highly recommended!!!

I just watched BASEketball. I was obsessed with it back when I was obsessed with South Park. It's amazing how many lines I remembered because I haven't watched it in a at least a year. It's still hilarious.

I hope to travel to the theater to see this masterpiece again, perhaps with my sister. The first time I saw it (last Friday!) was with my girlfriend and a few friends of ours.

Yes, "Snakes on a Plane" is our idea of a perfect date movie.

I watched The Missing last night I thought it was alright, a little boring at the begining. And I don't really see Tommy Lee Jones being a Native American (which is the politcally correct term) but he adapted alright.

Took a chance and watched RV with Robin Williams. This movie was not half bad. I hadn't seen it in the theaters, and I was pleasantly surprised. It isn't as dopey as the trailers made it out to be. It actually has a very good story, and it is very well put together. I would give it a strong 3/5 stars.

Off to see it tonight, and I anticipate that it will be my Movie of the Year. Trying not to build it up too much though. :P

Just watched, via the magic of DVD, the 1929 German silent film Pandora's Box. Is it wrong to find a woman that has been dead for 21 years incredibly attractive? Louise Brooks is the woman in question, and although she only made 25 films (her career ending in 1938), she was definitely a trend setter. Her hairstyle in this film is still known as a Louise Brooks or a "Lulu" (her character) in certain circles. The film? Ah, who cares?!? Seriously though, it is ahead of its times, although by modern standards, the narrative is a little confused at times. Still - LOUISE BROOKS!

Watched RV today. Being a fan of Robin Williams and having had a similar (yet less gross) experience in an RV a few years back, so we made sure not to miss it in theaters. One of the best comedies to come around in a while. Glad to add it to my collection.

Also watched Poseidon (2006). Didn't get a chance to catch it in theaters, and it was only $12.77 with a coupon at Sam's Club, so I blind bought it. It was a pretty cool diaster flick, and I give it points for not spending time on character development and getting straight to the action (not something I'd exactly imagine myself saying).

I would give both movies a strong 7.8 rating, saying they are both pretty cool.

Cheers,

I went to the theatre with my mum last thursday and saw Snakes on a Plane, it was good but a bit unnecessarily gory in places, its ok to watch once but I dont know if I'll be buying the dvd or not.
