Disney's Divinity wrote:The only thing I didn’t like about these shorts is Goofy. And it’s not just his design that makes him look like a crazy homeless person—he just flat-out creeped me out.
I think he looks like a more unkempt version of his Dippy Dawg identity.
It seemed to be mostly Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy.
But even Goofy now is seemingly less common. They seem to really like Minnie best of all.

Donald proves to be a bad influence on poor Mickey here!

They will be honoring Donald's birthday, June 9, with several of these cartoons that featured him. But it's bothered me that they acknowledge Mickey's birthday (November 18) and Donald's birthday (June 9) with these shorts on this newer Mickey shorts (or episodes, in the case of "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse"), but they almost never do likewise for Goofy's birthday (May 25). That one was lucky to get recognition from fans via Facebook. I know, I've befriended Goofy on Facebook, and they have mentioned such, but that's really about it.

It's weird, seeing as how Season 1 particularly gave Goofy plenty of screentime.

Goofy was somehow always considered "second tier", despite much evidence to the contrary. Sure, he never won an Oscar, yet his track record is much better than other popular cartoon characters.

For that matter, except for his honorary 1932 win, Mickey never really won an Oscar, either - except maybe for "Lend a Paw", but that's really a Pluto cartoon.

As for this show, they seem to prefer giving more screentime to Minnie than anyone else (besides Mickey, of course). She even has several cartoons all to herself.

I saw "Duck the Halls" last night.

For a while, I was concerned if they were still making these. The new Christmas special was awesome, and had a decent replacement for Scrooge McDuck.

I went to this presentation by Tony Anselmo and Bill Farmer at the Disney Family Museum, and Anselmo brought up this Mickey Mouse series at least once. He didn't really think much of them, apparently. He said there was merchandise put out of the characters in this show's style, but they never caught on.
