I wish I could see it. I get defaulted to the UK siteThe Little Merboy wrote:Go to Disney.com, and fourth down on the video playlist. Is a new stunning video of Sierra singing "Part of Your World"
She looks and sounds wonderful, and it shows her new tail.
Once there I even tried getting in via the international hub. I can get to all the other sites (Japan, Australia, etc) but the US site just automatically re-routes me to the UK site. I saw a very brief clip of the video in the "Jolly Holiday" video on the broadway site. Can anyone put the full thing on YouTube? Or explain how to bypass the instant re-route to the UK site?
LittleMerBoy I'm so jealous! I wish I could go back so soon! Be sure to say hi to Sierra and Norm Lewis for me! Btw what happened to you on MySpace? I logged in for the first time in ages the other week and couldn't find you or the TLM group you'd set up!

The only Disney shows in London right now are The Lion King and Mary Poppins (which ends next year to start a national tour).
Beauty and the Beast should hopefully be on again next year but I'm not sure, the cast I spoke to after the show this year said they were doing it as an international tour next year (by that I think they mean Europe and not just UK, not a full blown international tour, but I could be wrong) and then full UK tour in 2009. Hopefully at least some dates in the UK next year.
I really want to see Tarzan (missed it by 8 days, still gutted but seeing TLM made up for it) so I'm hoping that will come to the UK soon. I think they're bringing it to Germany next year.
With TLM's official launch now next year I wouldn't expect to see it open anywhere else until at least the end of next year at earliest. Doing a European opening in 2009 for TLM's 20th anniversary seems like a good possibility, but that's just me speculating.

Well, maby it's going to come after Tarzan *Hoping*.
But I also heard mary Poppins or Wicked are coming.
Also, 2 years ago there was a dutch Little Mermaid musical.
It's wasn't disney, but it also had a Happy ending.
In this one the mermaid's name is Lize.
She also wants to be ''Part of this world''
Then she rescued the prince and he became sort of obsessed by her voice. But the sea witch (Also a octopus
) wants the voice for her ugly daugter and she steals it.On the end Lize gets her voice back and it appears that she alredy was human but when she was little the witch turned her into a mermaid, and the king adopted her.
So Lize gets her prince and everybogy becomes happy..
Here is a song from the movie, look expecially at the costume
The song is titled Geef me vleugels (give me wings)
She just rescued the prince (ala, Part of your world- Reprise)

That Little Mermaid sounds werid.. the plot is dumb and it's sounds like a Disney rip-off.

First, I love your avatar, or "not your avatar", supertalies! And thank you so much for posting that clip, because I have fallen in love with that song! It's beautiful, and I actually heard another, probably cast recording version when clicking on another video where the girl playing the mermaid is a better singer, but for some reason I like the version you posted the best, like it's more heartfelt or softer.
You know, supertalies and Ariel'sprice, if it didn't rip off Disney so much, I think it would actually be a beautiful story in its own right. They shouldn't have an "ugly daughter", that's really horrible and very uncool to have these days, now that we're more sensitive to the messages we may send to children. But they could make the story something about truly belonging to another world, because the mermaid was originally human.
I not only find the song beautiful, but the sets and staging! I'm not a fan of her tail, though I do like the rest of her costume, but mostly the gorgeous lighting and delightful puppetry! I mean, when she goes underwater it's magical! This production shows how using wires could have been a very good idea, instead of the director's "no wire" policy.

You speak Dutch? i don't (why is the song called Give Me Wings?).Disney Duster wrote:First, I love your avatar, or "not your avatar", supertalies! Well, the plot sounds kinda dumb (espically with the "ugly daughter" part) but the idea when she originally a human is intersting.
The water looks better and when she goes underwater is good.
The Sea Horse is cute.

No, I don't speak Dutch, but I like listening to the sound of her voice, the notes she hits, and the melody and orchestrations. I think I heard the word "prince" though.
I think she wants wings to fly out of the sea, and she kind of looks like she's trying to fly when she goes underwater, her "swimming movements" look like wing flapping. That sea horse is actually pretty cute, and I like how it doesn't talk, you, too, I'm sure!

I just saw the show today, and let me say that it was FANTASTIC! I absolutely loved the set, the story line, the costumes.. everything. Sierra was amazing and fit Ariel perfectly.
By far, Flounder was my favorite. Cody Hanford played Flounder today and made my favorite Disney character even better. I absolutely loved the new song She's in Love. It was my favorite addition. I wanted to stay after so bad and meet them, but our group was rushed. I think I'll go back to do that (living on Long Island has benefits
).
But yeah, if you get the chance, go see it!

That is correct ,she want's to fly out of the sea.Disney Duster wrote:I think she wants wings to fly out of the sea, and she kind of looks like she's trying to fly when she goes underwater, her "swimming movements" look like wing flapping. Also, thanks for the compliment about ''not my avatar'''
and because I know you like this song, I translated it in English...
Here ya go..(sorry If there are mistakes
I added the my in the title because it sounded better.
Give me My wings...
I miss the sun, I miss the wind
The fragrance of grass and trees
I miss a soft and gentle bed to dream in
I miss living on the land, but I have to live my destiny
A mermaid doesn’t belong there ,but deeply in the sea
Give me my wings, I want to fly on the golves of the wind
Give me my legs, I want to run to the luck that I can’t find
Because the water isn’t my home, but a large sea of tears
Give me my wings, dear prince, take me along
Sometimes I don’t feel like a mermaid
But as a normal human, a human with a fish tail,
And a normal smal wish,
Starting my life above the water, on the land
Running, jumping in the dunes and dancing on the beach.
Give me my wings, I want to fly on the golves of the wind
Give me my legs, I want to run to the luck that I can’t find
Because the water isn’t my home, but a large sea of tears
Give me my wings, dear prince, take me along (2x)
My life isn’t my own,
I’m not who I want to be.
How can I ever become happy,
If I don’t know myself !
Give me wings...!
Give me legs...!
Give me my wings, I want to fly on the golves of the wind
Give me my legs, I want to run to the luck that I can’t find
Because the water isn’t my home, but a large sea of tears
Give me my wings, dear prince, take me along
Take me along...(2x)
Give me my wings...
here is some info on the songs and story

Does anyone know if Cody Hanford or JJ Singleton will be performing as Flounder on the soundtrack? I listened to JJ sing She's In Love online and have seen Cody sing it on stage and I like Cody better, so I was just wondering.

I don't think anyone knows.
I know the Tarzan cast recording had the kids alternating songs, but they can't do that here.
I'm hoping they put the song on twice so you get both kids singing it. I loved JJ's version when I saw it (that kid can sing) but I've never heard Cody and would love to hear him as well!
I suppose they could have them alternate lines or something but I would prefer they include the track twice.
