I haven't watched it yet, but I'm glad it features photos, concept art and things like that, which will make it more interesting visually. Kevin Lima says in an interview he didn't include the film itself in the video not to have problems with Disney. It's a shame, as the commentary would be easier to follow that way, but his decision is understandable.

Instead, it's largely a two-camera set-up buoyed by his photos, home videos, art, and recollections about the scripting, casting, songwriting, costumes, choreography, make-up, and more.

I'd LOVE that! But it seems Disney or the home video department at Disney is no more.Vlad Sicoe wrote: โFri Nov 18, 2022 3:59 pm I'm just wondering how come Disney didn't reissue the movie on 4K? Even as a Movie Club exclusive.

Stephen Schwartz wrote:Enchanted was fun because we were making fun of Disney and making fun of ourselves. With โThatโs How Your Know,โ we were satirizing the idea of an Alan Menken song like โUnder the Sea.โ And then Kevin Lima, the director, had the idea that it would be set in Central Park and everyone there would be magically attracted to Giselle [played by Amy Adams], whether it was animals or people. She would gradually accumulate all these people around her and the song would start a cappella and then grow and grow into this enormous production number with people dancing and street bands playing. Meanwhile, the Patrick Dempsey character is very embarrassed about how public itโs all getting!
I think it would be really cool to see Enchanted on Broadway โ there's been discussion of it from time to time. Youโd have to figure out how to jump back and forth between animation and live actors, but the technology definitely exists now. I could see it happening someday, although I canโt tell you that there are immediate plans for doing that.

I agree. The term "satire" has such a negative connotation. I saw Enchanted as a tribute to all the great Disney classics. A tribute done in a respectful manner.PatchofBlue wrote: โSun Dec 10, 2023 8:06 pm I think the word Schwartz is looking for is "homage."

Both the whole song as a demo as well as the part of the song that was filmed! It was a lovely moment for Edward and Nancy, but unfortunately the film was barreling to its finish and was cut.

Thereโs an Alan Menken demo and a track recorded by Idina and Jimmy, at least as much as they sang on camera.
