I have no interest in getting into an argument with you, Patrick, so kindly back away.
Again, this isn't the right thread to debate semantics or behavioral patterns.

Like I said, reyquila is an adult. When the time comes, he will know what to do regarding this collection, what to do once he passes away, so on and so forth. Those details are NONE OF OUR BUSINESS.

This thread is to celebrate collections, regardless if they are big or large. We are not here to place judgement on others or question their actions regarding their collections. If you think extreme collecting is bad, then it's your mentality.

There is always a time and place to make said judgement calls, and this thread isn't one of them. Next time, think what you are about to say and if its the right moment to do so.

Hahaha what the HELL??

How rude are you? Do you honestly think the way you are talking is acceptable? To reyquila and now to Patrick. "Kindly back away?"

Grow up.

I AM an adult, SWillie!, so don't tell me to grow up. Yes, I can act childish at times, but then, we all have our moments, don't we?

And using a swear word was uncalled for on your part. As for Patrick, he butted in, but my beef is not with him.

I assumed you were an adult. That's why I told you to grow up. I wouldn't tell a child to grow up. They're expected to act immature. Adults, like yourself, are not.

Leave reyquila to his movies, they have nothing to do with you.

Princess Leia.. The force is not with you!Shall we get back on topic people! Although i like the rest here am stunned by the behavior of certain individuals on this forum I can't help but notice that each and every thread here has these petty arguments! Please moderators kindly tend to the matter or you will see decreasing popularity here, which would be a real shame since so many of us have great info and pics to share! Thanks ever so much by a devoted and loyal member 

God, if I'd have the money and space, I'd probably just buy as much as well. I love people's collections whether they're big or small, every collection contains a gem or two.

Envy/jealousy is such an ugly thing. Reyquila, is it true you're a lawyer? That would explain it though... :) YOU'RE RICH...haha...no just kidding. Could you post a list of all the movies/versions you own? Or PM me one? Would be interested in that, see what beauties I'm missing.

You have every reason to be proud of your collection, whether it's compulsive buying or genuine joy in Disney....keep on rockin' :)

Not to me it isn't! Sometimes each release of a film has something the other release doesn't (Post-63 Animated Disney films are a perfect example). Be proud of double-dipping and know I am.

Just so you know the last Disney collection thread was locked five years ago because of heated arguments between reyquila and some members about his Disney movie collection.

If reyquila is intending to build up a separate collection for each kid, then the multiple versions could be justified. But he has not said that's the case, and if that's not the case, then the continual double-triple-fourth dips are completely out of line.
Why?

Quick translation: some photos of my stuff is on Page 34, just my small dvd collection. Other stuff (books and such) are still in boxes in the basement. I bought a bunch of new dvds, so I'll post some new pictures soon. 8)

I'm not against double dipping on principle; where I do draw the line is keeping the previous version after buying the new version and so on. There's absoluetly no need for multiple versions of movies. The previous versions can be given to a library or sold on Amazon instead of staying on someone's, in this case reyquila's, bookshelf/whatever.

A large part of my issue with you, reyquila, is the way you write your posts. With the constant use of exclamation marks, bolding the number of DVDs you have, and posting every time you acquire a new movie, you come across to me as boastful, arrogant, and rude. You seem to be proud that you are able to buy so many DVDs at once. Beware, my friend, or one day you may find yourself in a deep hole that you won't be able to get out of.

As for your remark about envy: No, I do not envy you your collection. I don't want and don't need a collection of your size. I'm perfectly content to have one copy of each movie and I work hard to add each one to my collection.

I started collecting the DACs four years ago and I still only have half of them. Between me and my parents, I would say we buy probably somewhere between 10-20 or maybe 25 DVDs a YEAR. We aren't poor by any means, far from it, but we do watch our money carefully instead of throwing it around like it will never run out. And that, reyquila, is something that you should learn too, no matter how much money you make each year.

Actually, there is... many new releases do not have the same bonus features as previous releases. So if one wants to be able to have all of them, you have to have both/multiple releases.

As to your comment about his money - you are not his mother, and have no place telling him what to do. He obviously makes plenty enough to be able to afford this. If that's what he wants to do with his money, then so be it! Same way some people buy overly ridiculously expensive cars, or spend thousands of dollars on baseball cards - any collectible hobby, really.

If reyquila one day ends up in a position where money is an issue, he can obviously make a TON of money back by selling some of his collection.

Please keep your judgements of others to yourself. Reyquila doesn't go around the entire forum boasting about his purchases - he does so ONLY in the "how many DVDs do you have?" thread, where you are SUPPOSED to do that. For all we know, he is posting as much for himself as he is for others to see. Maybe that's the way he keeps track of his collection?

You're being too harsh.

Yes, I know reyquila only posts about his movies in the appropriate thread, but even there he still comes across as abrasive and boastful.

You're right, new releases do have some new bonus features that previous releases didn't. But if all the bonus from a previous release was ported to a new release, then what's the point of keeping the old version?

You're also right that I'm not his mother, but someone else in the first DVD collection thread told him not to be surprised if he gets grief for his posts, and I find his posts abrasive. If he would tone down instead of using !!!!! or "Whoo-hoo" all the time, I wouldn't get so riled. But he keeps doing it, and it grates on my nerves.

And you, SWillie, watch your language. I don't want to get in a fight with you, but if you keep slamming me, my patience is likely to snap.
