The Little Mermaid on Broadway
Well, I took a quiiiiick peek at two of them, but I think I'll at least try to see it on stage, or wait a few months.
The reason for this is that, on stage with the lights down and real actors on front of the audience, a lot of things one might normally consider "too much" or "too little" or "not enough" work.
For example, if I had seen the little dance number in Be Prepared from The Lion King on a little youtube screen, I would have rolled my eyes and thought it was dumb. However, I saw it on stage and it worked somehow because I was caught up in the musical from being in the audience and being surrounded by a live act.

I just watched the videos
Ariel is wonderfull
but Ursula sucks, she just dosn't look like Ursula,it's a mix of Oogie Boogie and Cruela, not Ursula.
You know,i just visited the Disney Princess website and now they have show the musical and i was comparing between Broadway Ariel and animated Ariel,it's just not smiliar,it's just look so different, she dosn't look like Ariel, but still, what do you think?.

Did they change anything from the part of your world reprise than the version shown here? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWoLAk0jQ9MThe Little Merboy wrote:Please, don't judge it, until you have actually seen it. The entire show is wonderful, it's an experience. You have to see, the whole thing together, working together. It's amazing!

Took a quick peek. I do feel a little strange not seeing her on the rock. I wasn't expecting the wave, but those rock motions were powerful. Still, when it comes to things on stage, ballads are often sung by someone just standing there.
At the risk of going into (ew) political discussion, I found a political cartoon making a reference to the musical!

I... really don't get it. I am not following this artist's train of thought at all. I guess he just wanted an excuse to use The Little Mermaid.

The show closed down! OMG.
Thank God I didn't get tickets! I would have been SOOO upset. I took my niece to the Disney Store and she meet Aurora and Snow White and I also took her to get an American Girl Doll. So that saved our trip to NYC. I had a fun time. I have pictures if you guys would like to see.

Anyway, I'm hoping to see this musical during the X-mas break or something. Hope it's good.

Third week of the stage hand's strike and still no sight of a compromise. Yesterday, the How the Grinch Stole Christmas was reopened after the producer of the musical went to court. "It has a separate contract allowing as many as 15 performances a week -- seven more than the typical Broadway show".
I wonder if any improvements had been made to the Flounder costume. Broadway's version of Ursula looks suspicously like her sister Morgana from Return to the Sea with the green lower body and tentacles (as opposed to Morgana's green upper body), slender figure, and towering Russ Troll hair.

I got this through a campus email today and I thought I'd share it with all of you. It's a interview with some of the Cast of The Little Mermaid (sierra, sherie, and titus) on The Joan Hamburg Show from November, 9th 2007. The link takes you to Joan's website so you'll have to scroll down to find the right link to the recording but the title and description look like this...
Also, on a side note Sierra talks about my school for a bit which is very exciting for me!!!Joan Hamburg-November 9,2007-Hour 1
WOR 710HD- Joan Hamburg chats with the stars of "The Little Mermaid" about the newest Disney Broadway hit, plus Chazz Palminteri talks about his new Broadway show "A Bronx Tale" live from Sardi's.

The Little Mermaid on Broadway
I thought it looked different from how I had seen it before, so it really is new (you would know)! The Little Merboy wrote:Go to Disney.com, and fourth down on the video playlist. Is a new stunning video of Sierra singing "Part of Your World"
She looks and sounds wonderful, and it shows her new tail.
And yes, it looks and sounds beautiful. I think I need to let the magic of theater stop me from worrying about her costume. Notice how the video blocks off her lower half and really wants it to look like it's just her horizontal butt tail there. That's what we should be looking at through the whole show, really. Hey, I noticed Sierra doesn't have very big breasts, and I'dsay that's a good thing! The shells work better in something smaller, probably.
Oh, I'm going to see this with my friend for her birthday in April! Well, her birthday's in March, but we're celebrating earlier I guess, means less waiting for us! By the time we get there, the actors really will have settled into their roles and the show will be used to everything and it should be very polished. They say the performances just keep getting better, until the very end when they get tired, I suppose.

Finally, Ursula looks how she should. She can be skinny in the human part, but she must be big, grand, and imposing in her octopus part. And they have delivered. Why, it even looks flowing, like both an octopus's oozing movements and the movements of an elegant gown. Remember, in this version of the story, Ursula was once a queen:
