The premiere in LA is this Sunday at Disney's El Capitan Theater, across from the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. I was thinking about just heading that direction to see what I can see. Which may not be much.

The "world premiere" will be late Thursday night, December 16, same place. Interesting ......

I agree with you. Though i like Grace Potters' song, it doesn't really say 'Rapunzel' to me.

The worst part? They didn't even rerecord it!

Actually, they did. They even changed some lyrics. If you listen to the Amazon sample, you can hear a line (''...what you're looking for. She said..'') that doesn't appear in both the other two versions.

So my guess is they 'Disneyfied' the song a little bit.

Still, I agree that, even though Grace Potters' song is nice, an original song would've been even better!

I think people who have seen the film have mentioned that the credits involve concept art–is there a little story with it, like the end credits of The Princess and the Frog, or just concept art?

Yes, but I don't remember it telling a story--it was more like headshots, pictures of Rapunzel, Gothel, and Flynn's faces in a very interesting style unlike any of the other concept art out there. I'm hoping it's in the artbook!

And aww, you guys, I love the Grace Potter song! Give it a chance--when I first heard about it I was disappointed too, but after seeing the movie and when the credits come up with this happy, dance-in-the-aisle song....it really DOES fit. Personally I really dislike when they take a song from the movie, slow it down and have other people sing it, so this was fine by me.

I kinda assumed that they'd include Flynn's narration in the Prologue track (like BatB). Looks I was wrong.
But I don't mind... he does talk for quite a bit, and it's too kickass of a score to cover up!

I'm trying not to listen to all the songs posted, but I might have to break down and hear them. I've already listened to the doll singing "When will my Life Begin" and the youtube "I see the Lights". These songs are now STUCK in my head. I woke up singing them. So I guess so far I love them.

As for Rapunzel not being as strong a woman as Tiana, how could she be? Rapunzel can't ever really be a strong independent woman because she was locked away since birth. She can have dreams, ambitions, and be somewhat rebellious and independent in thinking and hoping, but she will not be grounded in the real world so she will have to have some "princess in a tower" issues. Disney couldn't make Rapunzel seem like a real character without making her a sheltered girl. She can't be like Tiana or Meg or even Belle.

Hey everyone! Long time no talk, I've been away starting life at college and haven't posted at all, but I've been lurking to keep up with updates on Tangled!

Anyway, I just wanted to ask about your guys' opinion on something. As some of you may know, people are always on college campuses handing out free movie passes, usually advanced screenings, to all the college students. I just received one today from a friend who got one and I'll read to you what it says:

"You and your guests are invited to a special private screening of a new animated film from a major studio.

The movie has not yet been rated but will most likely be rated "PG.""

So, what do you all think? Is there a possibility it could be Tangled? I don't know of any other animated movies it could be, so I just wanted to see what you all thought! Thanks
