Re: Sofia the First
I'vwatched the sneak peek at least seven times since I Found it. I love the song Tiana sings so far and I'm excited to buy it when ITunes releases it on Tuesday! I'm excited to watch the episode as well! The only thing is, Tiana says Sofia's name twice while talking to her. The writer's really need to cut back on that. She says it once and that's enough. We know who she's talking with.

Re: Sofia the First
After buying 'Risk It All' on iTunes, you can tell its Mandy, but its just she's singing so differently ! Wonder if she had more of a TLM type of score to sing how differently she would have voiced her.
Loving the Tiana preview as well !!
Also, I don't know if its just me being silly, but I can't find Ariel's song from 'Floating Palace' on iTunes …. is there a reason for that ? I can't find her or Belle (though I don't care for the Belle one anyway).
Does anyone know anything about this at all ?

Maybe it's because those are album only songs?
Since all of them are featured on Sofia's second soundtrack, maybe they are available only if you buy the whole soundtrack.

Edit:
I think that you can buy Ariel's song on amazon:

Re: Sofia the First
I've thought the exact same thing after listening to "Risk it All." Similarly, after listening to the full version of "From the Heart" (which is available on iTunes as of yesterday, at least in the U.S.). Anika Noni Rose's vocals really shine in that song and I found myself thinking that it was a shame that Randy Newman didn't give her enough to work with though I guess the "Down in New Orleans" reprise gave her more than "Almost There". I like "Almost There" but in retrospect, it seemed like a waste of Anika Noni Rose's talent.Atlantica wrote:After buying 'Risk It All' on iTunes, you can tell its Mandy, but its just she's singing so differently ! I've only seen "The Love We Share" on the album. "Make it Right" was on Amazon (at least that's where I picked it up). I agree with you . . . of all of the songs, it's one of the weakest.
So far, though, I think my favorite is "Stronger Than You Know" which I also bought from Amazon before it was removed. It doesn't seem to be available at all anymore.
Re: Sofia the First
Thank you for pointing out Amazon to me guys ! If you get them on amazon, will they play via iTunes ? I'm sorry to ask, but I'm really not technical in any way !
I've watched all the Princess appearances now, and I have to wonder what on earth they did to Aurora…..such a huge waste to potentially expand her character. She did nothing other than to say 'ask the animals for help like I did' and then she went ! Really disappointed in how she was; would have been fantastic for her to teach Sofia a lesson or sing to her like all the others (bar Snow White). Especially with the seemingly renewed interest in her due to the Maleficent film, could have added to her character greatly (if you think in terms of shows like STF like that). Aurora is the tied favourite of my little niece at the moment (with Rapunzel) and she said was sad Aurora didn't have a song ! So right from the target audience herself (she's just turned 5).

Yes, you can, but you have to download the Amazon Player (it's a program on your computer) and in that, it'll give you the option to download your purchase to either iTunes or to Windows Media.Atlantica wrote:Thank you for pointing out Amazon to me guys ! I thought so too but on multiple listenings, I'm pretty sure that it is . . . something about the way she pronounces her "s" in the word "risk" . . . it seems to be the same way she pronounces "s" at the end of the word "stars" in the film where she tells Mother Gothel that she though the new paint from the white sea shells would be a better than stars.blackcauldron85 wrote:I don't watch StF, but I just watched the "Risk It All" clip on YouTube, and that isn't Mandy singing...
I think the song sounds off because she isn't breathy in "Risk it All" the way she seems to be in ever other MM song I've ever heard. No one knows for sure, obviously, but the fact that no one else is credited as singing for Rapunzel is a pretty good sign (though I suppose the singer could be uncredited). Does anyone follow her on Twitter that could ask?

It is Mandy Moore, she is on the end credits and she confirmed it on her twitter.
It's just a higher pitch.

She is singing all day for Shreiff Callie on Disney Junior... so I don't see any reason to replace her...

I see that she retweeted a Disney tweet about the episode. I've been a huge fan of hers since her first single, and it just sounds off... Hmm.

My favorite princess appearances so far are Jasmine, Ariel, Mulan, Rapunzel and Tiana. The same goes for their songs. It is kind of weird that Stronger Than You Know was taken off Amazon.com and never got rereleased on Itunes. Also, I'm wondering why some of the other songs, Just Me and My Mom, Be Your Own King, Believe in Your Dream and a few others were never released. Does anyone know when the next soundtrack is coming out? I'm just curious.

Really nice article about Anika Noni Rose (that probably belongs in a TP&tF thread, but it's ending is about Sofia):

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone knew what Sofia songs were going to be on the new Disney Junior Shuffle album coming out in February? I'm also wondering if a new soundtrack for Sofia is coming out any time this year? I tried to look for info, but I couldn't find anything as of now.

Just wondering, Sotiris, what are your thoughts on Pocahontas and her movie?
Re: Sofia the First
They must get Pocahontas in before the inevitable arrival of Anna & Elsa mustn't they ? Otherwise that would be a shocking exclusion. I wonder who even voices her now, as she so rarely speaking in anything.

Hi! I believe Irene Bedard still voices Pocahontas and Judy Kuhn sings. She's scheduled to appear in Sofia sometime this year. At least that's what I read when reading the princess line up for season 2/3.

Re: Sofia the First
I really get a kick out of reading this thread. It puts a genuine smile on my face with some of the comments, and "have to know" questions, and "what person is singing this" and "the voice doesn't sound the same" and silly little things like that.
You all know, of course, that Disney Junior is aimed at pre-schoolers and children up to 7 years of age, give or take a year or two. My 7-year-old granddaughter wouldn[t know if one voice or even all the characters voices were done by different actors. She enjoys the episodes and learns the songs very auickly.
She is the typical 7-year-old as she has her Sofia the First nightgowns, her Palace Pets, and of course all of her ballroom gowns.
I just think that it is funny that most of you are well over the 10 years old mark and really quabble over the fact that this voice doesn[t sound like that voice and they changed this person's voice. It is just a television show for pre-schoolers and up to 7 years old. Maybe you should back off all of the criticisms that have occurred and will probably occur.
I don't read about you saying things like this about the other Disney Junior shows. Things like: "the voice for Captain Hook isn't the same as in the movie Peter Pan", or "Mr. Schmee sounds different" and things like that. These are just children's shows and we should just act accordingly.
Just my opinions here. Not attacking anyone!!! Let's all just sit back and enjoy these shows without criticism, okay.
