Ok, I just hope they will update their release schedule in Europe and will add the 3D-edition there, too (preferable with the same cover). Just in case though, I ordered the US-BD while the $5-Coupon is still up.
MUCH better. I never buy the 3D versions, but in this case, yes, I think I will be getting it. It's just so vastly better-looking than the regular edition that that alone justifies the price. I just really hope Disney doesn't fuck with it like they did with Peter Pan. If they put a clip-art Sebastian and Flounder in there, I might just scream.
EDIT: Also, notice how they've not shoved the ugly '3D' right under the sideways title like they did with Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. It's less busy and looks SO much better. Gives the art and title room to breathe. I hope that stays that way, too.

They really should move Ariel a bit to the right on that cover, she seems really crammed with the logo, and there's all that blank space on the right..

Yeah that trend seems to be dying down lately. It was probably temporary so the consumers would understand which version they were buying. My Tangled copy has 4 "3D" logos on it and 7 more on the border. "I'm sorry, is that the 3D version?"

No cause then you would lose the light from the surface.
The picture is nice, but I'm not sure why old art that you could've bought a clean poster version of for the past 24 years is worth getting so excited about?
Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Cause it's the best artwork made for this movie ever?
I certainly wish a THEATRICAL version of the 3D edition would be released here in the States, particularly next year to coincide with its 25th anniversary. You have to admit that it isn't fair that Australia is getting one while we only get a stupid Blu-ray.

Don't know about that. The 1994 re-release lithograph is still my favorite, though I'm sure some would call it too colorful and cluttered.
I am curious though, since I haven't really followed any of Disney's releases too closely since Blu-Ray started to become the new thing, does the 3D copy have the same DVD and Blu-Ray discs found in the DVD and Blu-Ray exclusive releases? I don't really understand the difference between all the releases, tbh (besides this plays on a DVD player or this plays on a Blu-Ray player).

It says so right on the cover that it includes the regular Blu and other discs.
I think it needs the "3D" under the title though. It is not obvious the way it is now that it is the 3D edition.
Also surprised that everyone is so stoked about old artwork. If you haven't looked around, there are some great posters of TLM, but admittedly, this is one of the better ones.

Usually they are the same discs
Now with Cars 2, Pirates 4 and other films, the 3D combo pack had an exclusive Blu ray not found in the regular Blu ray combo pack
