I think Tiana's blue gown is very Cinderella...

Well, it's blue, and the style is very similar. I know that Disney likes to give each princess their own individual colour scheme and style, but I feel blue is the best colour for Tiana--or perhaps pastel purple might have been lovely?

Purple would be amazing, along with a different style dress maybe a trumpet style or something, sorry to go off about it :)

We could completely re-design Tiana's costumes, lol! :D

That figurine made me realize how unrealistic Tiana's proportions are--or maybe they just didn't do her right. Nice concept though. I like how she's looking up, but it reminds me a bit of Esmeralda praying. I know--people have prayed before Esmeralda, but it's still what came to mind.

Well, so do many other Disney girls...

Also, why don't they show a front shot of the statue? With Tiana facing the camera? I want to see a front shot!

They had to make her look like this.

If they would make her look "fuller" than the other princesses, the whole black community would scream again that it's discrimination.

So true

I'm just saying there's a reason most people over here have issues with self-image.

Well, I think Snow White isn't really anorexic, nor is Mulan. There is nothing against a "healthy weight" and this isn't one! I do hope Tiana doesn't look as thin in the movie, but since this is a representation of her in sculpture... just have to take another look at the trailer.

And anyway, in real life there are just as many chubby black girls as white girls, but of course we are not talking about real life here

Although I think you were probably just joking, the "whole black community" comment irked me. For the most part, I don't post, I just read. I've seen comments like this before so I guess this time I'll speak on it. It's seems that some non-black people think that if a group of black people has a problem with something, the "whole community" will. I'm an individual. I don't form my opinions on what some group of people who supposedly look or act like me does. I'm not trying to be confrontational or anything. I just wanted to put that out there. I've never had a problem with anything concerning the movie. Not the name Maddy, her turning in to a frog, not the prince, nothing really. I'm not even excited that she's black. I even ask people who say "it's about time Disney made a black princess" why they feel that way. I just never been the type of person to let anyone represent me not even the "black community" or anyone else. I'm just happy that its hand-drawn and a princess movie. Again I'm just saying how I feel, no hard feelings.

The statue does look thin; but that might be an instance of artistic license. I'll wait until I see the film before I unhinge my tongue in a tirade regarding the junk (or lack thereof) in Tiana's trunk. :)

Now, don't go putting words in my mouth. I never said that all the princesses had unhealthy weights.
