If it is real, and not just fan made, it is perhaps not concept art, but so-called inspirational art, as can be seen here (Snow White and Fantasia, as well as a picture of Woolie Reitherman, Bill Peet, Ken Andersen and Ham Luske, who seems to be playing "pull my finger"):

Just found this information on the IMDB board for Rapunzel, so take it with a great grain of salt. However, I still found the supposed rumor very interesting of Menken's upcoming music style for it.
First of all, thanks to my dear friends Veu for sharing this!
During the recent presentation of the musical "Beauty and the Beast" in Barcelona on February 26th, Alan Menken was asked about the music is going to write for Rapunzel.
He says:"Rapunzel will be released in the Holiday Season 2010, as for the music it will be a kind of Rock of the 60s, in the veins of Joni Mitchell and Cat Stevens. It's still too early for speaking, but the film is at a good point, I'm very excited, but before this I'm involved with the musical Sister Act to be opened in London this year...

I think it sounds wonderful! It will be a new sound for Disney musicals!
But what if JLH really turns out to be the new voice of Rapunzel? She can act, she can sing, she's got a history with Disney... And after seeing "Mamma Mia!", I think Amanda Seyfried would be a good choice too.

I actually like that idea of the sound for the film!
The 60's and the sound of the artists mentioned.
Of course the songs will be more Disney like, but I think this could really work.
As long as they take a really good singer for the voice of Rapunzel.
People like Amy Adams in Enchanted or Amanda Seyfried in Mama Mia sound nice, but I prefer real singers.

I was right to have my suspicions! Sullivan, an employee at Disney, wrote the following at Animated News:
That picture that Once posted is definitely fan-art. You've got to give them credit though, sticking it up on a cork-board, taking a blurry photo in bad lighting, making sure JUUUUST enough of the Disney logo is visible.
Ways to tell:
1. Rapunzel is not a hand-drawn movie, so our concept art doesn't look like that.
2. Sorry, but the quality level of the drawing itself.
3. Rapunzel herself doesn't look like that.
Think closer to the picture Glen is showing. Not exactly that, but it's a good starting point. I know you guys are hungry for images. You'll just have to be satisfied by what's already out there.
By the way, we DO have a princess movie coming out this year. Best to focus on that one first!

And of course Rapunzel might not end up that way. That's why it's called concept art.[/i]

So Kristin Chenoweth is not going to be the voice of Rapunzel? When did that happen? If true, that would make me so happy. As much as I love her (especially in Wicked) her voice is far too comedic for a Disney princess unless they want to make the movie too funny which I would hate. I was so glad when they dropped the unbraided part. I want this to be a more serious Disney movie with humor added in to help the story along and lighten the mood and keep it from being too serious.mooky_7_sa wrote:I think it sounds wonderful!
