Read the articles first. Frozen is Disney's Snow Queen.

I can live with Frozen, even though I am a fan of the traditional titles. I think we are just going through a fad right now with one word titles, but nothing lasts forever. Eventually, longer titles will probably come "back into style" and we'll find something new to complain about.

With a company like Disney, which has been in business for a long time, it's inevitable that the constant stream of output from the studio would be influenced by the periods of time in which it was released. We've seen the evolution of technology influence the films, and even some of the more superficial things like fashion and fads have done so as well. At the very least, Disney is keeping up with the times and ensuring they are still considered relevant to the next generation, whether we like it or not.

When it comes to one-word titles, isn't it interesting that Pixar originally wanted to call A Bug's Life just "Bugs?" I wonder why that changed . . . maybe Disney didn't like one-word titles back then and wouldn't let them?

Really? Lee Unkrich said that they wanted to name it "Bug Story" but I haven't heard anything about calling it just "Bugs".

If Frozen is to be released in 2013, what about the King of the Elves?

In case anyone was still wondering...

Peter Sciretta wrote:We have independently confirmed this with three sources. I was first tipped off when Pixar animators were tweeting the news, expressing their surprise as even they had not heard about the title. I confirmed with Disney Publicity that it wasn’t a Pixar movie after all, right before Bleeding Cool tipped me that the project might actually be The Snow Queen. And have since confirmed their report with people in the know.

Brendon Connelly wrote:I was told about the film’s progress and its title earlier this week. At that time I was assured that the film was going to be hand drawn, but I just traded e-mails for clarification and was told “Don’t put your name to that…not quite yet.”

UPDATE NOTE: Another e-mail from another source, but well placed. They’re telling me that they’re certain the film is now set for CG.

So Frozen/Snow Queen going to be 3D(cgi) and 2D?

That's interesting. It could potentially look goo as I can see the snow and ice being cgi while the characters remain hand drawn.

It will be pushed back apparently. Most likely to 2014.

I wasn't able to find it on youtube, but one of the bonus features on the special edition DVD set is the "Fleabie" reel, which was basically an early presentation reel done "the Pixar way" so they could show off progress to the investors (Disney). Within it, they repeatedly refer to the film as "Bugs" (infesting theaters soon)! :D

Thanks for letting me know. Although this could just be the name the production team called it and not an official tentative title. Like how the team working on "The Emperor's New Groove" would just call the film "Groove" in studio meetings etc.

No problem, and you could be right on that. You'll have to seek it out sometime, it's only about 5 minutes long but it's hilarious. :)

Can someone answer my question? Is this going to be a combination of CGI and hand drawn like that one article said?

no, 2D means that it will be shown.... 'not in 3D'

The movie will be CGI.

SA knows perfectly well what it means. He was just trolling based on a comment DisneyJedi made in another thread.

Actually I wasn't trolling. I was serious when I ask that question.

Nowadays the interchangeable meaning of 2D(hand drawn) and 2D(non 3d glasses) can be bit confusing.

I remember people use to call CGI movies 3D movie.

It is confusing to me as well. But a few posts up confirmation was given it's going to be a CGI film shown in both 3D and 2D.

The 3D/2D thing caused confusion I think.
