Thanks for sharing your story! Sounds like you've got interests in common with many of us here. Well, sure we all like Disney, but there's a number of specific aspects to "Disney" that interest some more than others. Like I'd put "Platinum Edition DVDs" somewhere above "Dean Jones '70s comedies" among the UD membership, for instance. But both pretty much rock!
Your Disney Story (Introductions Thread)
Welcome to the forum, Tabbi!
Others will take you to task about Shrek not being remotely Pixar (especially those of us still bitter that it beat Monsters, Inc. at the Oscars and the sequel 'beat' The Incredibles at the box office). I think we can let you off with a warning, though.

Hello again, somewhere in another post I mentioned that I'm 22 years old, male. Working stiff, no significant other.
My Disney story is, much like my life- unorganized, but peppered with plenty of details. I don't know exactly what sparked my love for Disney, but it's been pretty much neverending.
When I was young, I had many interests in Disney. At a kid, I can remember being taken by my parents, in the '80s, to see theatrical re-releases of Disney classics Bambi and The Jungle Book. While at home, before the big Disney VHS boom of the '90s following their big success with The Little Mermaid, my parents would record Disney VHS's onto a home VHS (again this was before they started using that magnetic anti-copy protector device), and those three movies recorded from rental VHS's were my earliest Disney movie experiences I guess: Dumbo, Pinocchio, and Sleeping Beauty.
Also, my parents took us kids to the theater to see The Little Mermaid when that was the big thing. And The Lion King (I'm not sure we saw Aladdin in the theaters, but I know we owned the VHS as soon as it came out). While at the same time, maybe earlier- I was really into the Disney Halloween specials. My parents bought Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians (1961), Fantasia, Bambi, and The Little Mermaid on VHS. Though again, I'm remembering that from awhile back, our family went to Disneyworld in 1990, and that was y'know THE only experience I ever needed to be a huge Disney fan for life. We did EVERYTHING there was to do at Disneyworld in 1990, saw everything there was to see. And I think I still remember a great deal of it. Like the Haunted Mansion ("Grim Grinning Ghosts"), and a theater-type show where they played that really trippy song, "Magic Journeys".
Everything about classic Disney made a huge impression on me. Especially their music, those classic movies, their cartoon shows, and their wilderness/nature programs. The old Chip & Dale cartoons, the holiday specials, the Adventures in Wonderland TV show. And I saw all the cartoon clips on Disney of Peter and the Wolf (which I only discover this month is part of Make Mine Music), The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (same deal), Mickey and the Beanstalk (you're seeing a pattern here?), Lambert the Sheepish Lion, Lonesome Ghosts, Trick or Treat, and more that I don't know the name of.
I guess the thing that originally strongly compelled me toward Disney animated films were the incredibly memorable villains. My favorites of course were Malefocent, Ursula the seawitch, Captain Hook, Cruella DeVil, Jafar, the Headless Horseman, the Queen of Hearts, and of course my own very personal favorite- the Magnificent, Marvelous, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Madame Mim.
Right now, I only own 2 Disney live-action films on DVD- Greyfriars Bobby and The Gnome-Mobile. But I haven't seen either in a very long time. Though I do own most of the classic animated Disney films on VHS. I've been polishing that up recently, buying used copies of all the movies I need to complete that collection. Though I've pretty much made the decision to stop buying new Disney animated movies after Hunchback ('96), I plan on sometime in the future picking up Mulan and Home on the Range (because I love Roseanne!). I'm also choosing to exclude Soludos Amigos from my collection. But soon I plan to pick up the 5 missing classics from my collection: Make Mine Music, Melody Time, and The Great Mouse Detective. I recently ordered Beauty and the Beast and Oliver & Company, so they're on their way now.

Even since I was little I loved Disney and I'll never stop loving it. My favorite movies growing up were Pinocchio, Jungle Book and Toy Story. Now my favorites are Lion King, Incredibles and Pirates of the Carribean! My favorite theme park was Disneyland. Now my favorite theme park is Epcot. So many people may grow out of Disney but I never will! I wish I could call myself the number #1 Disney fan but I can't.

Hi. I'm new to the forums. My name is Jason and I'm 13 years old.
My story isn't really that complex but the first movie that I ever went to in theatres was Alladin but since I was only 1 years old I fell asleep through most of it. Most of the Disney movies that I own now are all on VHS but I only get DVDs now. One of my favorite Disney characters has to be Mushu but my favorite movie is probably Hercules.
That's all that I could think of now.

I am also new. I go to Colorado State University... living at the dorms studying electrical engineering... well kind'a.
My favorite anamatied Disney movie is Bambi
My favorite live actions is a tie between Pirates and Miricle.
Its kind'a ironic because I like Bambi and yet I go hunting... a lot. What can be more fun hiking in the woods with a gun. Really. But I mainly go bird hunting instead of deer hunting cuz my dad doesn't like going deer hunting. However I defenintly want to try it.
I like a lot of cartoons. I like:
South Park
Family Guy
Simpsons
King of the Hill
Futurama
