I mean there's plenty of good stuff worth viewing.Big Disney Fan wrote:How do the bonuses stack up well?ajmrowland wrote:The bonuses should stack up well. If you have sleeping beauty without HD, I'd just point and click if i were you. That's how I got through the first month with our HD DVD player(which is now used as a speaker stand).

But why would you (pre)order at amazon.uk when you know it will be available in The Netherlands as well? Now you will have to pay more because of the shipping costs, and you don't get to have Dutch subtitles. I'm a bit surprised it's already on sale, since I haven't seen Oliver & Company yet. By the way, I dn't think you can compare the store to WalMart. That would be an insult to Blokker.BelleGirl wrote:Today I went to BLOKKER(I think you can compare this shop a bit to Wall-mart) and to my surprise there were several copies of the new Pinocchio platinum edition!
If I hadn't pre-orderded the PE through amazon.co.uk I would have bought one of course. I'm still waiting for my copy.![]()
But maybe this is a good tip-off for other UD-members living in The Netherlands!

Well, I just wanted to make sure I got it and Amazon offered a pre-order discount. Honestly, I don't need Dutch subtitles for a movie I've seen multiple times in English and Pinocchio isn't really hard to understand. I've read Shakespeare and Milton in English, so..Goliath wrote:But why would you (pre)order at amazon.uk when you know it will be available in The Netherlands as well? Well, to be honest I don't exactly know what Walmart is likeI'm a bit surprised it's already on sale, since I haven't seen Oliver & Company yet. By the way, I dn't think you can compare the store to WalMart. That would be an insult to Blokker.

Everyone: Blokker is a chain of stores mainly selling household wares and appliances (like cutlery, frying pans, tupperware and coffee machines) but in addition it also sells toys, games and dvd's/cd's. Now is that okay with you Goliath?

Sound OK to me. By the way, dutch-UD users, there is a special offer at Blokker, that if you buy another disney movie with Pinocchio, you get a special price (een 'stuntprijs'). What is that, excactly (korting ofzo?)
By the way, BelleGirl, I just saw we live in the same city.

Maybe I've seen you once, while I didn't knew it was you! (in de stad ofzo)

I've waited for this for a while (like everyone i know), but deliberately did not buy the gold/limmited issue for lack of special features. Must say this PE does not disapoint. Haven't watched all the extra's yet, but the audiocommentary and the making of are both thourough and the making of runs for over an hour, and eventhough i have seen good restaurations , this one blew me away.
It got me into such a Disney mode that i'm gonna watch Snow White tonight and maybe even Beauty and the Beast

someone @ DVD Talk forum posted the Best Buy price for Pinocchio and the freebie. Its $25.99 and the freebie is a 3D lenicular cup. I think I'll go with Target's Free Music CD on Tuesday instead. Have to go there anyway.
I haven't watched Pinocchio in YEARS, so I am looking forward to Tuesday.

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.
What about Dutch dubbing? I prefer watching the English original versions, but sometimes I just want to see the version I grew up with. To this day, I can only enjoy Robin Hood when watching the Dutch version. The original voices just don't work for me. Blasphemy, I know... Sorry, Peter Ustinov-fans...BelleGirl wrote:Well, I just wanted to make sure I got it and Amazon offered a pre-order discount. Well, your description of Blokker fits WalMart, actually. You forgot to mention that you can't buy rifles and bullets at Blokker, whereas you can at WalMart. But then again, in Holland you can't just walk into any store to buy guns and bullets.BelleGirl wrote:Well, to be honest I don't exactly know what Walmart is likebut sometimes I read on this forum that you can buy DVD's overthere for a low price. I just wanted to explain to American UDers what kind of shop Blokker is and this Walmart popped in my head.

That's exactly the way I feel about the Spanish dubs on Robin Hood.Goliath wrote: What about Dutch dubbing? Well I gotta say, the DVD and Blu-Ray look pretty much the same color-wise. Not so drastic like Sleeping Beauty.

Howard Ashman:
He gave a mermaid her voice, a beast his soul, and Arabs something to complain about
Arabian Nights (Unedited)
Savages (Uncensored)
If it ain't OTV, it ain't worth anything!
