It's from the BBFC. British Board of Film <strike>Censors</strike> Classification. By law, everything has to be classified in the UK, or it can't be released.

I'm wondering now if its an additional "archive" making of.

I added up the numbers, avoiding the milli-seconds & adding the 45.25 minute making-of, and I got around 1 hr. and 33 mins. So I would expect something around there

Since Disney is still being bizarrely mute in giving us a full specs list straight from them, here's another recap with the new BBFC-classified specs Netty posted. It's very unlike Disney to include vintage "making of" specials unless they're REALLY vintage ala "Operation Wonderland." I think the 18-minute featurette is supposed to be the "Story Behind the Story" feature on Hans Christian Anderson. That feature is the only major one left without a running time revealed. For now I'm going to post it as that until we found out otherwise. As for the easter eggs, it seems they're going to be on the "Treasures Untold" menu where those random floating icons were.

In that case, the whole making-of will be around 1 hr. & 51 mins. (minus the milli-seconds, so it'll probably be like a minute or two more). Just like the Aladdin making-of.

I think you're double counting the making-of feature. The prologue and acts are all segments of the overall Treasures Untold piece.

I don't think so, but I'll check anyway

Added: Nope, you can check my math (I don't know why you would though), but I got 111.86 minutes. Which is about 1 hr. & 51 minutes. Look I got the same as before. Still have to add in the milli-seconds, but I'm too stupid to know how to do that

You want to add up miliseconds? Don't forget to allow for PAL speed-up for the timings of the BBFC website! :P

On second thought, I think I'll pass on the milli-seconds

The Prologue and Acts are all the "chapters" of the 45-minute making of feature. That's why there's "Play All".

Just for reference, Sequel, you do know that this:

Treasures Untold: The Making of The Little Mermaid (45:25)

and this:

-- Prologue: Flower Street (2:43)
-- Act I: Reinassance Man (6:05)
-- Act II: A Symphony of Talent (7:30)
-- Act III: Broadway Comes to Burbank (10:05)
-- Act IV: Setting Sail (13:20)
-- Act V: A Mermaid Sings (5:40)

are the same thing, right? Maybe that's why you're getting such a high run-time.

I added the making-of documentary, the Story Behind the Story featurette, the presentation reel, the special effects unit, and the deleted scenes, and came up with 100 minutes (rounded). with the commentary, we'll get about 185 minutes, so that's not too bad.

Yes, I know. That's why when I added up the times for the whole of the making-of, I only added 45:25. I didn't double it.

Hold on. I was doing something else. I came out with 111.86 minutes. And that's how much it is. Sorry for the confusion

* Treasures Untold: The Making of The Little Mermaid (45:25)
* The Story Behind the Story (18:06?)
* Early Presentation Reel (2:36)
* Storm Warning: The Little Mermaid Special Effects Unit (8:38 )
*Deleted Scenes (24:43)

The minutes are: 45 + 18 + 2 + 8 + 24 = 97 minutes
The seconds are: 25 + 6 + 36 + 38 + 43 = 148 seconds = 2 minutes 28 seconds

Altogether, that's 99 minutes and 28 seconds of bonus footage, not including the short, DisneyPedia, trailer, or easter eggs.

Add 83 minutes for the commentary, and you've got 182 minutes of bonus footage. Not bad.

Three hours of worthwhile bonus material isn't too shabby at all. My only concern now is if a voice actor featurette will be included or not. None of the segments in the making-of really sound like they're going to be a cast featurette, so I hope Disney put in some kind of material with cast interviews.

I should have added up this ^, but instead I added up everything here:
Netty wrote:00:18:06:12 THE MAKING OF THE LITTLE MERMAID
00:00:42:07 DISC 2 PREVIEW
00:03:19:22 KISS THE GIRL - POP VIDEO
00:02:14:02 ORIGINAL THEATRICAL TRAILER
00:08:31:11 DELETED SCENE NO. 3 - POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS
00:02:28:16 DELETED SCENE NO.1 - FATHOMS BELOW
00:02:57:00 DELETED SCENE NO.7 - SILENCE IS GOLDEN(AUDIO ONLY)
00:00:25:07 INTRO TO DELETED SCENES
00:00:31:13 MATCH GIRL INTRO
00:02:36:01 EARLY PRESENTATION REEL
00:01:03:24 EASTER EGG NO.1 - RON & JOHN DRAW EACH OTHER
00:06:19:23 THE LITTLE MATCHGIRL
00:08:38:24 STORM WARNING: THE LITTLE MERMAID SPECIAL EFFECTS UNIT
00:01:40:08 EASTER EGG NO.3 - LIVE ACTION
00:01:50:08 DELETED SCENE NO.4 - SEBASTIAN LOST IN THE CASTLE
00:06:51:09 DELETED SCENE NO.6 - FIGHT WITH URSULA
00:00:30:15 EASTER EGG NO.6 - THE SECRET MERMAID HANDSHAKE
00:01:41:23 DELETED SCENE NO.2 - BACKSTAGE WITH SEBASTIAN
So, instead there is, on whole, a 96.12 minute making-of which is like 1 hr. and 36 mins. add in the 83 min. commentary and you get a 179.12 min. making-of (minus the milli-seconds). So in all, the ENTIRE making-of is around 2hrs. and 19mins. Sorry for all of the trouble I've caused people.

179 minutes is 2 hours and 59 minutes, not 2 hours and 19.
