I'm wondering the same thing about Target. I hope I can take advantage of the $10 off and use the $5 DVD coupon.slave2moonlight wrote:Yeah, though I'm so eager to get it I might check again tomorrow, or check Best Buy too. Best Buy has that deal where you get 6 dollars off if you buy it with Lilo, which I think works for the Blu-Ray too, and if they'd allow you to get that AND use the coupon, it'd be even a dollar cheaper than Target (though I'm still uncomfortable using coupons at Best Buy for some reason, I guess because it seems like no one ever does). Don't know if you'd be able to take advantage of the 6 dollars off AND the coupon together though, but that'd be sweet. But I don't know if they have them out at Best Buy yet... I don't think I've checked there.Simba3 wrote: Mine either! I saw Bolt and Lilo and Stitch at Wal-Mart, but they were expensive there. I'm holding out for Tuesday to get them at Target. They are offering the best price, and I can wait two days.

FYI- the link that ValenciaJoe gave also has the link for the $5 off DVD coupon.
WAIT. Hold your horses!
http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/anima ... uponoffer/
That link has the coupons, and it's Disney's official site!!! It brings you back to Coupons.com, but this link actually worked for me (finally, after trying for 10 minutes)- I printed the coupon! I have no color ink, so the picture of the DVD cover is barely legible. But hopefully it will work!
And, apparently each coupon has a unique code, so you can't use a forwared-ed copy of someone else's. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/show ... p?t=716941 has info.
Does anyone know if WDW stores accept coupons?!?

I think many of us already saw the movie and discussed it during its release. The only thing left to discuss is the DVD and Blu-Ray disc and see which place has the best deals.DisneyJedi wrote:I'm surprised everyone's focused more on discussing the discounts and all that kind of stuff, and less on the movie itself.
If they decide to do the Blu-ray release prior to the DVD release on any films in the future, they might want to clarify with the businesses that only Blu-ray are supposed to be on the shelfs until Tuesday. I have been to several stores today and yesterday and several had the DVD's out on the shelf as well as the Blu-ray's... And when my cousin stopped in Wal-Mart, they didn't have any Blu-ray, but an entire shelf of the DVD's.
I guess it's good for people who are still buying DVD, but they need to space the releases out a bit more to prevent confusion in the future.
Blu-ray followed by the DVD after 2 or 3 weeks would work much better.
Also, did anybody else notice the spine of the Blu-ray ? It looks as if the cover art was intended to be in one of the thinner Blu-ray cases.

You mean like what they've done with Twilight? Or is the DVD included in that massive time gap?JDCB1986 wrote:If they decide to do the Blu-ray release prior to the DVD release on any films in the future, they might want to clarify with the businesses that only Blu-ray are supposed to be on the shelfs until Tuesday. Twilight is a little different. The Blu-ray is out now, but its a Target/Best Buy exclusive for now.ajmrowland wrote:You mean like what they've done with Twilight? It's buying time. Most likely, people will start talking about the movie again after most of us have it and watch it at home. Many folks have not seen it yet and are just trying to get their hands on it right now (like me).DisneyJedi wrote:I'm surprised everyone's focused more on discussing the discounts and all that kind of stuff, and less on the movie itself.

I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. Its a blind buy for me. I think later in the week when more people have the DVD/Blu-ray the talk about the movie will pick back up.slave2moonlight wrote:It's buying time. Yeah, Twilight is available as both a 1 and 2 disc Blu-ray though. It would be a better strategy for Disney to release the title on Blu-ray Combo Pack several weeks before the DVD alone is released. The majority of sales come within the first couple of months of sales anyway, so if people have the option of either buying the Blu-ray combo pack or waiting 2 months, I think a lot of people would make the purchase. When they only have to wait 2 days... (and when many stores have the DVD on the shelf even when they shouldn't) the strategy falls short.ajmrowland wrote:That's what I meant, except making the Blu-ray available to all retailers about two months before the DVD.
The Twilight DVD/Blu-ray release was brilliant strategy... Making it a midnight release with almost every store having it's own exclusive. And then getting yet another release further down the road (not only is the Blu-ray going to every store, but it's also being released as a gift set.)
If Disney would do something similar to that with their bigger titles, I bet they would bring in huge numbers.

Releasing them at different times is too much of a mess. Especially if one didn't know they were doing that and you just so happened to be at the store and you get excited at the sight of the movie and then you get let down because the version you want isn't there.DarthPrime wrote:I think the store just decide to put them all out at once to avoid confusion for the customers. I'm sure if the Blu-ray was available they would have questions about do they have the DVD in stock. Its only a few days too, so they probably just decided to release them all at once.
They should just release all versions on the same day. I doubt people are going to get the version they are trying to promote just for the mere fact it's available a few days/weeks/ a couple months early. I personally hate that strategy to be honest. People know other versions are out there. If they want them they'll get them. I don't like the idea of releasing one version earlier (particularly months earlier) than the others.

I bought the 2-Disc version today and now I'm really regretting it. The single disc was $5 cheaper, plus I would have saved an extra $10 dollars if I bought that version with Lilo and Stitch (which I also bought). So basically I spent $15 dollars more on this "2-Disc" version for a digital file and a few extra bonus features.... STUPID!!The_Iceflash wrote:I would hate that and hope that it is never done. I did the same thing and I'm feeling the same way. Luckily having the $5 coupon made that realization feel a little less painful. Plus I also got a slipcover!Simba3 wrote:I bought the 2-Disc version today and now I'm really regretting it. Got my closest Target's LAST Blu-Ray of BOLT just about fifteen minutes ago.
Was able to use the coupon, too. Clerk commented that I had a "Great coupon there".
Will watch it later, gotta so some exercise bike time first.

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.
