All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. - Walt Disney
That's got to be the worst, "How Tangled Should Have Ended," I've ever watched! Of course, that Gollum scene and Merida from Disney and Pixar's, "Brave," scene was kind of funny, but this hair thing that gets caught up by leaves, trees, dead animals, and all that just didn't got me laughing!
This is, "How Tangled Should Have Ended," should be told, but you're not going to like it.
Flynn Rider: (Voiceover) This is the story of how, “Tangled,” should have ended.
The story takes place inside Rapunzel’s tower. In the morning, the outside world is nice with a clear sky with some clouds, and the sun shining bright. Mother Gothel comes in and Rapunzel tries to persuade her after he got Flynn Rider locked up inside her closet.
Rapunzel: (She persuades Mother Gothel.) Okay, I’ve been thinking of what you said earlier.
Mother Gothel: (She sets her basket on top of the table, and takes goodies out from her basket as she speaks to Rapunzel.) I hope you’re still not talking about the stars.
Rapunzel: Floating lights, and yes, I’m leading up to that.
Mother Gothel: Because I thought we dropped this issue, sweetheart.
Rapunzel: No mother, I’m just saying…I have something in my closet that I want to show you.
Mother Gothel: (She turns to Rapunzel, and asks.) Excuse me?
Rapunzel: I have something in my closet that I want to show you.
Mother Gothel: Is this some kind of guessing game?
Rapunzel: (She thinks about it, and replies.) Maybe.
Mother Gothel: (She speaks to her with delight.) Oh I just love guessing games. (She starts guessing.) Let’s see. Is it a plant?
Rapunzel: (She starts answering.) No.
Mother Gothel: Your clothes?
Rapunzel: No.
Mother Gothel: Your paints?
Rapunzel: No.
Mother Gothel: Your make up?
Rapunzel: No.
Mother Gothel: Rapunzel plant?
Rapunzel: (She asks in a slight shock.) Rapunzel plant?
Mother Gothel: Why of course? I named you after a cabbage. And it’s good for your health and mine. Anyways, I give up. Let’s see what’s inside.
Rapunzel: Okay, you asked for it. (She removes the chair that barges the closet doors, and opens the closet.)
After Rapunzel opened the closet, Flynn Rider falls out onto the floor feeling unconscious.
Mother Gothel: (She became shocked while gazing at the unconscious Flynn Rider, and shouts.) Good Lord!
Rapunzel: (She speaks to Mother Gothel while feeling a little energetic.) I know! He came in to my tower, and I took him down with my frying pan! And do you want to know else? (She comes to the pot where she hid Flynn Rider’s satchel, and presents it to Mother Gothel.) I hid his satchel where he has some goods in it! (She takes out the crown to show Mother Gothel, and speaks in a calm way.) I found this in his satchel, (She wears it on her head.) and it fits, (She takes off the crown, and examines it while asking.) but why? (She puts the crown back inside the satchel, and examines inside the satchel.) There’s something else as well. (She pulls out a, “Wanted,” post of Flynn Rider, and shows it to Mother Gothel.) There’s a wanted post. (She examines the, “Wanted,” post. She sees the stamp of the kingdom’s symbol.) Something’s familiar about this post.
Mother Gothel: (She speaks to Rapunzel after she came up with a solution.) We have to dispose this man at once.
Rapunzel: (She comes up to Mother Gothel, and speaks.) Now wait just a minute. (She looks at Flynn Rider, and explains.) When I’ve looked upon this man, it doesn’t look like he has any sharp teeth, and he doesn’t look like a ruffian. (She calls out to Pascal to wake Flynn Rider.) Pascal.
Pascal: (The chameleon comes out of Rapunzel’s back hair, climbs down to Flynn Rider, and tries to wake him up until he sticks its tongue at his ear.)
Flynn Rider: (He wakes up with a jolt of shock after got Pascal’s tongue in his ear. He got up quick, and sees Rapunzel and Mother Gothel. He uses his smolder to charm them.) Hey ladies, how are you doing, the name’s Flynn Rider. How’s your day going, huh?
Rapunzel: (She asks Flynn Rider a question with her frying pan toward him.) Alright you, how did you find us here?
Flynn Rider: (He puts his hands in front of Rapunzel.) Take it easy Blondie.
Rapunzel: (She corrects him.) Rapunzel.
Flynn Rider: Gesundheit. Here’s the deal. (He lowers his hands down, and explains to Rapunzel and Mother Gothel.) I came across your tower, and climbed in it.
Mother Gothel: (While Rapunzel asks questions, she went to get her dagger from her shelf to kill Flynn Rider.)
Rapunzel: Do you want my hair?
Flynn Rider: Why on Earth would I want your hair?
Rapunzel: (She asks feeling surprised.) You mean you don’t want my hair? You mean you’re telling the truth?
Flynn Rider: Yes.
Rapunzel: (She shows the floating lights that she painted on top of the fireplace, and asks.) Do you know what those floating lights are, the lights that float up every year on my birthday?
Flynn Rider: (He asks back.) You mean the lantern thing they do for the princess?
Rapunzel: (She now knows that they are not floating lights.) I knew it. (Next, she presents the crown from his satchel.) What about the crown? Somehow it fits.
Flynn Rider: (He confesses.) I stole it from the kingdom. (He asks feeling surprised.) And you said it fits you?
Rapunzel: Yes. (Finally, she presents the, “Wanted,” post.) About this post, what is that stamp? Is that the symbol of the kingdom?
Flynn Rider: Yes. (He asks.) You mean you’ve never been to the kingdom?
Rapunzel: Never for 18 years. My mother told me that I have to stay here in case of ruffians and thugs. But you don’t look like a ruffian and thug to me. In fact, you don’t look like you’re a threat.
Flynn Rider: I’ve seen others that are like that, but lucky for you, I’m not one of them… (He remembers being with the Stabbington brothers, his partners in crime.) almost.
Rapunzel: (She looks at the, “Wanted,” post again.) Somehow when I kept on looking that symbol, it looks like the flowers that I’ve painted at the ceiling of my room. The flowers I’ve painted looked precisely like the symbol of the kingdom.
Flynn Rider: (He assumes.) You know, based on the crown made for the lost princess that fits your size, you could be the lost princess.
Rapunzel: (She asks him feeling curious.) Could that be true?
Flynn Rider: Maybe. (He realizes.) In fact, if you are the lost princess, that means I could take you to the kingdom in exchange for money. I wish you are the lost princess, I’ll be rich. RICH!
Mother Gothel: (She came to Flynn Rider with a dagger, and stabs him to his chest.)
Flynn Rider: (He falls to the ground feeling hurt.)
Rapunzel: (She shouts to her in shock.) Mother, what have you done?
Mother Gothel: (She shouts at Rapunzel while trying to get rid of Flynn Rider.) This young fool knows too much, we have to dispose him at once!
Rapunzel: But he has so many answers about the outside world that I want to know. (She becomes suspicious.) After you told me about ruffians and thugs, until he showed up and said that he’s one of them, I’m starting to believe that you’ve kept me away for a reason. It’s my hair wasn’t it?
Mother Gothel: Everything I did was to protect you.
Rapunzel: I’ve spent 18 years here, hiding my magic hair? When I should’ve been hiding…from you! You were wrong about the world, and you were wrong about me! And I will never let you use my hair again! (She uses her hair to heal Flynn Rider.) ♫ Flower gleam and glows let your power shine. Save that has been lost, bring back what once was mine. ♫
Flynn Rider: (He is healed by Rapunzel’s hair. He gazes her hair in shock, and was about to freak out.)
Rapunzel: (He puts her hands in front of Flynn Rider to calm him down.) Please don’t freak out.
Flynn Rider: (He calms down, and speaks to Rapunzel feeling surprised.) I didn’t know your hair could do that.
Rapunzel: I have magic hair that glows when I sing, and it heals. But once its cut, it loses its power. The gift like that has to be protected.
Flynn Rider: (He understands as he speaks to her.) So that’s why you never left the tower.
Mother Gothel: (She kills Flynn Rider again.)
Rapunzel: (She shouts to Mother Gothel in anger.) Mother, or should I even call you that!
Mother Gothel: (She shouts at Rapunzel in anger as well.) You want me to be the bad guy? Fine, now I’m the bad guy!
Rapunzel: (She kept on healing Flynn Rider.)
Mother Gothel: (She kept on killing Flynn Rider.)
Flynn Rider: (After he has been stabbed by Mother Gothel again, he shouts feeling insane.) I can’t take it anymore! (He snatches Mother Gothel’s dagger, and cuts off Rapunzel’s hair.)
Rapunzel and Mother Gothel: (They both shout in shock after Rapunzel’s hair has been cut off.) WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?
Mother Gothel: (She grabs Rapunzel’s hair, seeing the golden hair turning brown, losing its power. She throws it to the ground, sees her reflection at the mirror, sees herself aging fast, and covers herself with her own black cloak in despair.)
Pascal: (As Mother Gothel gets close to the window, he drags Rapunzel’s hair to trip her.)
Mother Gothel: (She trips Rapunzel’s hair, and falls out the window. As she falls out from the tower, she disintegrates. And onto the ground is nothing of her, but her black cloak.)
Rapunzel: (She watches Mother Gothel fall, and faces at Flynn Rider.)
Flynn Rider: (He reasons with her in agony.) It’s better this way, so that no one like her can have your power to heal.
Rapunzel: (She speaks to him feeling sad.) You could have cut off my hair after I've healed you! But instead you cut off my hair after she stabbed you!
Flynn Rider: (He speaks slowly as he dies.) I...didn't...know... (He dies.)
Rapunzel: (She sings one last time as she cries.) What once was mine.
She shed one tear upon Flynn's cheek. Then suddenly, something magical happens. The magic of the golden flower glows magically from Flynn's wound. Rapunzel possess the healing power from her tear. The magic golden flower heals Flynn Rider, and he comes back to life.
Flynn Rider: (He comes back to life, and speaks to Rapunzel with delight.) Did I ever told you that I have a thing for brunettes. By the way, my real name is Eugene Fitzherbert, someone might as may know.
Rapunzel: (She speaks to him with excitement and delight.) I don't care what you're real name is! You've saved my life!
Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert (Flynn Rider): (They kiss each other on their lips.)
Pascal: (He covers its eyes to not look.)
Rapunzel and Eugene went to the kingdom. Rapunzel sees her real parents, the king and queen. They embrace each other after Rapunzel and the queen look closely at each other based on the eyes and hair. Eugene joins the embracing brigade.
At the last Rapunzel, the lost princess, has returned to the kingdom. Rapunzel made Maximus, the palace horse who tracks down Flynn Rider, head captain of the guards. She even helps the pub thugs fulfill her dreams since her dream is to see the floating lanterns. She marries Eugene, and they all lived happily ever after.

Polizzi, I read what you wrote and it seems you got so excited about the funny "how Rapunzel should have ended" thing and also wanted to right out your own ending but you just made everything that happens in the film happen real early, at different times, and made the movie really short. I don't understand, did you make it because you want the movie to really be like that, because it was just you re-writing how the movie goes, but everything happening quicker, shorter, and at a different time (and it doesn't make very much sense that way either, like how Flynn Rider didn't have enough time to fall in love with Rapunzel).

I wrote it, because I believe that there might be a, "loophole," in Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)." Don't get me wrong, but I can tell by the kingdom's symbol stamp on Flynn Rider's, "Wanted," poster of himself. It's true, it's really on there. Didn't Rapunzel notice the wanted poster that was also in Flynn's satchel as she examines the crown? The satchel is pretty wide enough to notice it. Even if it's deep inside at the bottom of the satchel, it can still be seen from her sight. If Rapunzel sees that besides the kingdom symbol on the purple handkerchief given by the boy in the Kingdom Dance scene, it will all make sense. And yes, the movie would really cut short based on my version of, "How Tangled Should Have Ended."Disney Duster wrote:Polizzi, I read what you wrote and it seems you got so excited about the funny, "How Rapunzel Should Have Ended," thing and also wanted to write out your own ending but you just made everything that happens in the film happen real early, at different times, and made the movie really short. But everything happening quicker, shorter, and at a different time (and it doesn't make very much sense that way either, like how Flynn Rider didn't have enough time to fall in love with Rapunzel)?
OF COURSE, it could be Rapunzel's character that helped keep the story going. After all, Disney made her naive, desperate, and fun. That could be the reason why she didn't get the chance to look at the wanted poster, and has a hard time figuring words ahead of time to persuade Mother Gothel before she shouts, "You are not leaving this tower, ever!" After that, she had a second thought. But you know the rest.
If Disney wants to avoid loopholes, they could at least have Rapunzel lie to Mother Gothel, after having a second thought in order to see the floating lanterns, that she's doing a self-portrait based on the chair securing the door handles of the closet. I can picture Mother Gothel coming really close to the chair baring the closet as she speaks to Rapunzel, "Something is not right." And the next thing you know, she sets a plant on the chair to add more art for self-portrait. And finally, Rapunzel asks her for new paint from the shells which takes 3 days to retrieve, and she accepts her request. That would definitely cover the loophole.
OF COURSE, Disney created that scene to make it relevant to modern life that we live today, to express people's feelings and lives that we've been through. So despite the loophole, they're trying to make their animated feature show a lesson that can be learned in life...maybe.
ALSO, if Rapunzel sees the kingdom's symbol stamp on the wanted poster besides the one on the purple handkerchief, how will she know that she's the lost princess without seeing the mosaic art of herself as a baby with her parents the king and queen? She would have a hard time finding out who she really is, unless the crown that fits her head explains it all. True that it would not be enough, for she would assume that the crown belongs to someone else that fits. I bet that crown is all size, not just her size.
Anyways, that's why I wrote it. To my perspective, I've noticed a loophole in their animated feature. I could be wrong when it comes to Rapunzel's character, mother and daughter relationship, and maybe the satchel is not open wide enough for Rapunzel to notice the wanted poster as she examines the crown. Well, that's my version of, "How Tangled Should Have Ended," for you.
P.S. Thanks for reading my version Disney Duster.
P.P.S. Yes, you can say I rewrote it. But I actually wrote it before, "How Tangled Should Have Ended," by HISHE was presented on YouTube (Please note: I did not write the HISHE version. You can find out who really wrote it by their ending credits before the surprise scene.). I wrote it to hopefully share it with college students at my college. I doubt.

Polizzi, sorry but there is no loophole in the original movie. Rapunzel needed to see all the other things before she could figure out that she was the princess by seeing the symbol. She had no good reason to remember the symbol from when she was a baby and think she was a princess. Mother Gothel wasn't looking at the chair by the closet and didn't care about Rapunzel enough to try and figure out what she was talking about with the closet. Too be honest, in the movie it was hard to believe Rapunzel only figured out she was the lost princess by noticing her flowers kind of looked like the sun symbol, because there was much more evidence that she was the lost princess by having the same birthday as the princess and looking so much like her.

Not to mention the mosaic art of Rapunzel as a baby with her parents the king and queen. So I guess you could say that Mother Gothel does not care what Rapunzel got in her closet, and the details that Rapunzel needs to see, and the floating lanterns that float up every year on her birthday. The reason why I believed that there might be a loophole, because of the kingdom's symbol stamp on Flynn Rider's wanted poster. I bet Rapunzel would recognize that compared to her flower paintings...maybe. But like I said, I could be wrong.Disney Duster wrote:Polizzi, sorry but there is no loophole in the original movie. But If you think about it, Flynn only said to Rapunzel that the lanterns were for the lost princess, Rapunzel may be thinking that the lanterns are released on the day the Princess went missing, not on her birthday. Plus why would Rapunzel really have any doubt that Gothel is her Mother before meeting Flynn. She is the only person she's ever known so obviously Rapunzel is going to trust Gothel and believe that Gothel is her biological Mother. At the mosaic Rapunzel could see the similarities between herself and "Lost Princess" but again she has no reason to suspect Gothel of kidnapping her. I also believe that Gothel's obsession with returning to the Tower would also reinforce Rapunzel's final decision to confront Gothel about her true identity.Disney Duster wrote:n the movie it was hard to believe Rapunzel only figured out she was the lost princess by noticing her flowers kind of looked like the sun symbol, because there was much more evidence that she was the lost princess by having the same birthday as the princess and looking so much like her.
Anyway not sure if this will be answered but I'm curious to know, Why did Disney re-animated Rapunzel in the trailer? (When she's holding the frying pan)

Okay, maybe you're right DisneyDude but I have to say Polizzi you aren't right Rapunzel couldn't have figured out she was the lost princess just by seeing the sun symbol on Flynn's poster. She had to go through all the other things like knowing the lanterns were released for the lost princess, the mosiac, or even find out there was a lost princess at all.

I watched the short on my Cinderella Blu, and it is so wonderful; really was such a joy to see the characters again.
Does anyone know how the short has been received? By critics/fans?
I think the material is there for either another short or a sequel.
Considering how Disney want Flyn more involved, they could even an origin short all about him ?!

I understand that this was supposed to be about Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)," but this animated short bears the similar idea compared to it. And by the way, it's disturbingly funny.

What would Rapunzel say about this?
