A set of 2 DVDs was added. For 1,350 points, you can get:
Little Dog Lost
and
Stub: The Best Cowdog in the West

Hmm, two dog movies. I wonder if it has something to do with the three Dalmations DVDs that were just released.

Disney Movie Rewards

They are offering 50 bonus points per code (up to 200 bonus points) on every code entered, not through October 6th. Well, I just bought 101 Dalmatians and already redeemed the code, and the next movie purchase I plan to make is Sleeping Beauty on October 7th. So, I'm a little annoyed that I won't be able to take advantage of this offer.
The only other option you have is to buy some other title you don't already have.

Check their list of eligible titles and see what you might be interested in purchasing during the anniversary promotion. I've seen that you can pick up the Old Yeller 2-movie edition for a pretty low price.

Yeah, I received my poster about a week ago. I already have the lithograph version (from the first re-release of the film), but the poster's huge and I love Ursula's pose! :P

To be honest, there isn't that many prizes that are interesting to me besides this. I thought about the signed TLM Broadway poster (just for the sake of having it; I don't like the poster itself) but I might just save my points for that 5 day trip to Disney world. :D I might get there in 5 years.

There's a new promo on the DMR website called Disney Magical Places. I'm a little confused by it so I won't go into any explanation of it here, you just have to check it out for yourselves.

Yeah, I'm a little confused myself. A lot of movies on the pages of that book I already own, but yet it says I haven't unlocked mine yet. I'm getting a little sick of Disney Movie Rewards offering new incentives to buy Disney DVDs that end up punishing loyal Disney fans who already own them.

I was looking at this today, and it really doesn't explain whether or not those of us who already own the films get those movies checked off or not. If we don't i think that's kinda crapy on DMR's part. Also, did anyone else notice that Pocahontas II was included on it's list? since when did it get reward points?

Disney Movie Rewards: Disney Magical Places (Promotion)

Post by Neal »

Is anyone a member of Disney Movie Rewards?

I am.

I realize a lot of the prizes are actually way more expensive than buying them at a retailer, but I still feel I shouldn't waste those points I got for buying Disney DVDs.

However, a new promotion has me a little perturbed:

Disney Magical Places

Basically, you enter the codes as you did before, but for Tinkerbell, Caspian, WALL-E, and Sleeping Beauty you can win a coin depicting the characters.

Also, each code allows for the chance to win a one million dollar sweepstakes.

What angers me is that 7 DVDs I have bought from Disney in the past two months were eligible, yet it seems as if since I entered the codes for those before October 1st, the codes won't count.

Two of the codes I entered in the last 7 days! But they may not count?!

I wrote to Disney Movie Rewards about it. I hope a cast member tells me I'm wrong, or is at least willing to fix it for me.

If I don't get rewarded for those codes, I'm going to feel extremely cheated.

I know Disney is a corporation like any other, and many-a-time people have complained about their services, but this is my first time where I've felt like they're being unfair.

Maybe I'm wrong about how this works, we'll see what happens.

Here's the e-mail I sent them:

"To Whom It May Concern:

I am an avid purchaser of Disney DVDs. I get at least one new DVD a week. I am also a member of the Disney Movie Rewards loyalty program. I visited the site for the Disney Magical Places promotion today:

http://magicalplacespassport.com/home.h ... C93}#/home

...and was concerned with how it works.

A total of 7 DVDs I have purchased ($140 value) were eligible for the promotion if I entered their magic code. However, I've already entered these codes yet they did not unlock those 'cards' on the Disney Magical Places site.

I hope you do not actually intend to not give people who already purchased these DVDs the equal chance as someone who buys them after this promotion.

I mean, I entered the codes for the 101 Dalmatians DVD and Pocahontas II: Journey to the New World DVD in the last 7 days. You honestly mean they won't count because it wasn't after October 1st?

I seriously hope I'm mistaken. I have a great love for the Disney company and love getting new DVDs from you, however, I will be quite put-off if my 7 DVDs do not count because the codes were entered previously.

I haven't even redeemed those points for those 7 DVDs yet at the Disney Movie Rewards site.

Here are the 7 DVDs I have bought that are eligible titles in the Disney Magical Places program, yet the 'cards' aren't unlocked at the site:

101 Dalmatians DVD
Enchanted DVD
Mulan 2-pack DVD
Pocahontas II: Journey to the New World DVD
The Jungle Book 2 DVD
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning DVD
Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas DVD

They should unlock 'cards' at the Disney Magical Places promotional site.

I hope you can assist me in this.

Thank you!"

What do you think?

I think it's being re-stocked just for this promotion. I have never seen it on DVD anywhere before - not at second-hand sellers or official retailers, but last weekend I was at K-mart and surprisingly they had just stocked Pocahontas II with the 'movie rewards' logo on it. I think they needed a supplement for the 2-Disc Pocahontas DVD, so they brought PII out of the vault and re-branded it as a movie rewards eligible title.

actually, it never went into the valt. PII's Gold Collection DVD has been out since before the 10th Anniversary edition. I just kinda surprised that all of the sudden it's a Movie Rewards DVD. I think it's the first release that they've ever done this with. I hope it doesn't continue because I have the older DVD without the movie rewards. There should probably be a way for those of us that have it to redeem some reward points for it, although this whole situation is kinda crappy right now anyway.

Actually, there is a way. There's a section called "missing codes" on the movie rewards site and if you have a DVD, the receipt, and print off a ticket from their site you can send it in for the proper amount of points.

I've been saving my receipts for all my Disney DVD purchases because for some of these gold collection films, they suddenly become eligible so I can then redeem them.

I wonder what Disney's response will be about this new promotion.

Actually, in order to get the points, it had to have been purchased before (I forget which one), a month during 2008.

Can anyone tell me if they think the "DuckTales The Movie: Treasure Of The Lost Lamp" & "Donald In Mathmagic Land" 2-DVD Set reward is a good deal?

I have 1,260 points and the 2-DVD set is 1,200 points.

I am considering it, but want to know if it's really worth all those points, in your opinions?

Thanks!

DuckTales The Movie is one of my favorite Disney films ever, and it's not available to the public besides The Disney Movie Rewards and The Disney Movie Club. I would say it's a must have, especially if you like the series. I probably would have redeemed that many points for it, but I wouldn't want the Donald math DVD. I guess I'm not sure what to say.

Donald In Mathmagicland is a teriffic 30 minute cartoon with good music and great entertainment value in a nostalgic sort of way. For those who grew up with it, it's a classic, and for those who enjoy classic Disney, it's a treasure to find. Get it along with DuckTales the Movie, and you'll have something older and something not so old but equally nostalgic to enjoy together.

Does anyone know what happened to that Little Mermaid thing they had. It was like a 3-D model of one of the scenes, as well as original artwork. It was really beautiful and I was saving up for it, but it's gone. Will they bring it back? Is there another place I can buy it?

I hope someone knows what I'm referring to, since my description was horrific.

Yeah! That's it! Would Disney sell that again? Or once it's done, it's done?
