I think it's on her collar. The more I look at it, the more it appears as if we'll be getting the spiky bat-winged collar after all! Or at least for the poster we did!

I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!

That's a nice poster, but I'm waiting until tomorrow to see if there's hope for this film or not.

I will see this in cinema for sure, and knowing myself I will get the Blu-ray release, art book and soundtrack no matter what, but I am sceptical to the official plot synopsis:

“A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal — an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom — and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.”

Seems like Disney have to put a battle in every fairytale movie (Alice in Wonderland and now Maleficent)? As if every fantasy needs to be Lord of the Rings or Narnia. I guess the upcoming Cinderella and Cruella movies will feature battles as well;)

Visually it will be stunning for sure and the characters are beloved, so as a Disney fan I know I will appreciate this movie in some ways, at least visually.

That plot line sounds truly poop :(

I am still so excited for this release, but whenever I read the plot, gives me anxiety about the project.

It is getting boring now where everything has to have a reason . . . Maleficent is just wicked, and can't that be that ? Or fair enough, something makes her wicked, but don't then fuss over the original Disney Classic and have her have a bond with Aurora.

Yeah I feel the same way. The betrayal part sounds too much like that idiotic leaked script

However I'm sure it will be visually stunning and I will see this and give it a shot, but I'm not getting overly hyped yet. Perhaps the trailer tomorrow will change it.

The poster was shot by famed fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, just a little tidbit of info ;)

I've tried.

But everything I read about this movie is doing absolutely nothing for me. It looks like it will strip the original film of all of its majesty and artistic aura to leave its audience with an empty, vapid, generic piece of Hollywood overkill.

Well, Sleeping Beauty is pretty empty and vapid already...

I don't think this film will harm it, partly because I don't think the people who would see this would consider SB a masterpiece anyway and the ones who see SB in that light would easily ignore this film.

That's a really nice poster and Jolie really does look like Maleficent. :D :D I hope the trailer tomorrow will be a really good one, after all this waiting.

Same here. Plus the story seems like rubbish.

There are a lot of snap judgments being made about this film, and the trailer hasn't even been released yet! I say let's start some real discussion in eight hours (I can't wait!) when we've got our first look!

I really dislike this poster. It looks fanmade in just about every way. I saw it and immediately assumed it was another fake. It has no mood or atmosphere. There's something about it that just doesn't gel with me, and part of it is the awful logo that, again has a very fanmade look to it.

What's most interesting to me is the fact that all the reviews I've heard of the footage that's been screened is that it is beyond words, and looks like a Disney animated movie come to life. So I'm a little lost as to how a movie with such a visual flare as this could end up with such a lackluster poster. Being a graphic design student probably isn't helping me at all here, but still... It's so... unenthusiastic?

What I like about it is how her face almost reminds me of Eleanore Audley when she did live action reference for her most famous role. Even though the plot synopsis is weird beyond recongition, we are forgetting that Paul Dini is the co-writer on Maleficent with Linda, I doubt he would join a project like this if he couldn't find some really good potential in it. Besides, the leaked script has probably been revised (possibly by Dini) a long time ago.

Everybody is judgmental about things they've haven't seen. Just look at the Frozen thread and the Aladdin on Broadway thread.
Plus changes from a beloved original classic can upset people, alot.

I hope the trailer (and the movie) will capture some of the fairy tale vibe that the original had.

I saw the trailer and...

Ok, why does Aurora have a British accent?! :what:

And Ellie Fanning is not pretty enough to be Aurora! This is supposed to be like the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. You need someone like Dianna Agron to play her.

But, I approve of Angelina as Maleficent

Here it is

I'll say this, Angelina Jolie sounds amazing as Maleficent. even down to that cackling laugh. I'm still not hyped, but I will remain cautiously optimistic.

Interesting trailer! sets a bit of anticipation much like "Oz The Great and Powerful", however, we all remember the poop fest that film turned out to be ( my opinion). Anywho, I have to agree that Elle Fanning...not the best casting choice. Glad to see that Diablo, seems to be in the film..glad that detail was not left out.
