Ok so I got my answer lol. I am going with the DVD Combo Pack. That pack is better than the Blu-ray pack. That one has the movie with all the bonus features on Disc one on DVD plus the 2 Disc Blu-ray. The Blu-ray pack only has the film on DVD and no bonus features.

Yep... The DVD in the Blu-ray combo will only hold the movie plus whatever (if any) extras that will be on the regular Disc 1 of the DVD release. :)

No it will only hold the movie on DVD, no bonus features in the Blu-ray combo pack. The bonus features and the movie are in the DVD Combo Pack. It's on the official website of Snow White. :-)

They should have one more bundle for people who just want the movie and no bonus features I'd happily take 5/10 dollars off for that.

Disc One will include the commentary ported over from the 2001 release and a "special" sneak peek at The Princess and the Frog. The original mono soundtrack is also ported over as well.

I mean, I'll upgrade to Blu-ray eventually -- and these kinds of promotions and packaging are great. I'm not a big fan of Snow White, but this $10 promotion will make the package even cheaper than the DVD edition coming in November.

It's probably another sneaky Disney tactic for people to go Blu... 8)

Now what majority is going to get the DVD Combo? I'm really leaning towards that because of the extras on the DVD disc and dvd case because I don't think I will collect all the Disneys in BD so I might as well make it match the DVDs. Anyone else doing this for these reasons?

I'm going to definitely get the DVD Combo, because the cover art and packaging is the better of the two combos.. but I may end up getting the Blu Combo later on just to have both. (I'm just insane like that..)
On top of this I will also be getting the regular DVD version of the film.

Of course I won't do this for all films, because I won't get the Blu-Ray for every film. But this one is special. 8)

I am going Blu. I just think Disney and studios like Paramount are pushing Blu too hard, to the point that some DVD releases are barebones and the Blu-rays are packed with bonus material.

I'm not a big fan of Snow White and I'm a completist, so having just the movie on DVD is fine by me. And the Diamond Collection cover is a lot more attractive than the standard Platinum Edition cover.

My guess is that Disney is advertising the DVD in the Blu-ray case as barebones and the one in the DVD case as having bonuses to get more DVD people to buy the DVD combo. They're probably both the same disc.

I very much doubt that Disney will author an entirely different DVD disc for the Blu-ray combo. It will probably turn out to be the same disc (& content) as what's later released on the Diamond Edition double DVD.

I wouldn't put it past them, especially since releases like Bolt and Race to Witch Mountain are available as either a single-disc barebones DVD or a "Deluxe" DVD with bonus features added and a spare coaster - er, Digital Copy. So a Blu-Ray Combo of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with a barebones DVD seems possible, though I hope it isn't barebones.

You know what? I don't really care. Either way, whatever isn't on the DVD disc, I'm pretty sure will be on the BD discs.

It should at least include the audio commentary.

nope.

The DVD inside the Blu Ray case, no matter what release you get is barebones until the DVD release date on November. The DVD packaging I guess is just for people who might want to upgrade to blu ray but are unsure, and don't want a blu packaging...(weird, but I've seen it discussed here).

This might be the worst case (no pun intended on case) of a confusing marketing strategies of cases of blu ray combo and the dvd blu ray combo case....and whats with who with what.....it honestly sounds like a very confusing Dr. Seues Poem.....the dvd in that case is not the case in that dvd blu ray ......

I am more of visual learner....words confusme espicially when I can't tellt he differ of which is what.....so perhaps someone could post a picture of which case has what in terms of the DVD in the Blu ray combos....because this is getting confusing.....this is worse than calling target and asking them which Walt disney treasure tin they have,.....or trying to get the receptionist at the target store whom you are on the phone to to transfer your call to electronics because every time I ask them for electronics they ask me what are you looking for and I tell them and the lady tells me to wait and she will ask them for me and thats confusing enought :P

Sorry I guess that's what too much mello yellow will to do a guy...I am trying to stay away from the Frog and the Toad......Hopefully they don't serve Pepsi at movie theaters shoewing the Princess and the Frog...

No, it isn't exactly barebones. The back of the DVD-edition Diamond Collection states that the DVD included includes:

- full-length film
- all new digital restoration with enhanced picture and sound
- original theatrical soundtrack
- audio commentary by John Canemaker
- an exclusive sneak peek at The Princess and the Frog
- something else (the back cover isn't in high res on Amazon, so I can't make out what the other feature is)

Plus, it'll include the usual assortment of Sneak Peeks, a 5.1 DEHT mix and the usual assortment of dubs and subtitles. So it's just Disc One of the DVD edition included with the 2-disc Blu-ray, and it's not barebones by any means.
