You must have a cool mom! My mother and I have always been able to agree upon a few ideas, etc., but she's never really been the fantasy movie/ adventure story type of lady.
"I Dream of Jeannie"

I loved (and probably still do) I Dream of Jeannie (reruns of course), so funny, tries to give him 20/20 vision and he ends up with X-ray vision. I do get some people (the odd work colleague, some family) as well question my tastes - "What Disney, really? or "I'm not buying you the Sound of Music for Christmas" and from the same person "what this is your copy of Pride and Prejudice (BBC)" as apposed to my sister's (brother in law thinks guys should watch these types of films et cetera, I don't care though).
My Mum wants to go and see this as well (Brave - based on the trailer), but it's funny, she's like "Cars 2, nah, that's a kiddies movie, I don't want to be seen going to a kiddies movie (same reaction with Ponyo and Tinker Bell 3)" and yet she had a completely different view when going to Tangled, Wall-e, Rio, the Ice Age movies, UP, Ratatouille, Bolt amongst others. The usual response is, "I'll watch it on DVD" and she usually enjoys those movie anyway.
