Yeah, even though I know I will be able to find it in stores... My area is like Anti-Disney. We're all too cool to like disney.. go figure.

oh well, maybe my parents will forget and i'll get more stuff for xmas!

I'm personally going back and forth in the To buy or To order camp. I got the last three Treasures in one day, two from a local Sam's Club and the last from a local Target.

I HAVE a standing order for all 4 with amazon, but I may just opt to get all four in store to save on cost. Besides, get going early enough and it shouldn't be TOO hard to find. I hope!

First off, welcome to the Forums, MPeriolat. Always nice to see a new Disney fan join our growing family here.

I too have a standing order thru Amazon, and selected the Super Saver Shipping so as to cancel the shipping costs. I'm sure the Tins will be a few dollars cheaper at B&Ms (and I'm assuming they could be as low as $22.99 at The Disney Store B&Ms) but I chose the pre-order route to ensure I got all four. With my work and family schedule it is extremely difficult to get out during the week to get new releases and I'm sure by the time that Saturday rolls around our Disney Store will be picked clean.

Can't go wrong either way, IMO. Especially if you're wanting to secure all four. I firmly believe the Donald and On the Front Lines collections will be gone very, very quickly.

I agree that a dvd should not be used as an electronic babysitter. Personally I am single with only nieces & nephews but I would like the CHOICE of a play all feature if only for my own watching. How would you like it if you had to go back to the menu and hit enter for every chapter of a movie? Last time I checked Eisner's title wasn't babysitter in chief.

I know it's kind of a pain, but some (most?) DVD players offer a "Program" function - so that if you just enter Titles 1 through X (X being the number of shorts on that disc), it should play them all the way through. Sure, it's more time consuming than a "Play All" button, but you don't have to reach for the remote after every short.

Thanks for the welcome, although I am an old hand from the LP boards.

I too am using Super Savings to save on cost. I think Donald, Front Lines and Mickey II will sell VERY well with Tomorrowland being pretty respectable. I mean, who doesn't like space?

But I won't lie, it's gonna be finacially a bit tight over the next few months with the live action releases in two weeks and Sleeping Beauty a week later and Lion King and Frank and Ollie in October, then the Treasures in Decemeber and FINALLY the three (maybe four!) two disc sets in January. For me, finacially things are a bit tight as I am doing some job hunting to make ends meet. Knocking on wood and doors, including a certain theme park down the road.

Who knows?

BTW, I have to ask this: am I the only one who loves to kick back and watch all the shorts and the movies in order from the first to the most recent? Just never really gets old for me, as long as it is in moderation.

Not at all.
I sometimes have to fight for TV time with my daughter who would rather watch Atlantis, Treasure Planet, The Little Mermaid, etc.,.

I'm sorry Dacp, I couldn't disagree with you more, while I see your point about the fantasia segment, Those are still cartoons with Mickey in them, and are segments that stand alone, just like all the other cartoons, and I really really really want Mickey and the Beanstalk --The WHOLE thing--

That would make me very happy.... I, well for the most part, would never say something should not be included or taken out, because their might be other fans who would enjoy it.... I only encourage the adding of features/supplements

That's part of the reason why I am so excited about the Treasures. I mean, I can't wait for when the two disc of Alice in Wonderland arrives. Why? To have Alice's Wonderland, what is really Walt's first great achivement on DVD. To be sure, I have nearly 40 tapes of Vault Disney and Ink and Pain Club on tape, but to have it all uncensored and unspoiled and then to be able to sit down with friends and pass on the love to someone else... man, that's indescribable.

As to Mickey and the Beanstalk, Sorcerer's Apprentice and Mickey Mouse Disco: all I can say is come one, come all. Why NOT have it all collected under one roof? I'm not complaining. Granted, Apprentice did raise my eyebrows given Fantasia is out on DVD and will be reissued as a Platinum in the near future, but hey, hardly complaining.

That being said, it DOES concern me that shorts released just a year ago on Complete Goofy, namely Victory Vehicles and How to be a Sailor, will be on Front Lines. Again, not a complaint per se, but does feel like a waste of two slots that could have gone to shorts we haven't (or may never) see.

Yeah, I tend to agree.
However, it must be remembered that every Disney DVD might be someones FIRST Disney DVD. As a result, some people might not have the others (particularly when they are OOP), and getting the Goofy toons would be great for them. If not for spending insane amounts of money, they would be my first tins too.

Anyways, these sets are shaping up nicely.

Good point on the first purchases. The problem is it's pretty unlikely Disney will ever do a release like Front Lines again, which means we may never see the shorts that are omitted. That's a real disappointment, at least to me.

In any case, you are right, the next four months are going to be pretty exciting. There really is no let up in the releases starting next week and going through to December. It's a good time to be a Disney fan... and a BAD time to be low on cash!

I think the Mickey tin has become my most anticipated, and Donald and Frontlines are tied a bit behind it.... Can't wait for these!!!!!

In terms of which is most anticipated, I would go wtih Mickey in Color Vol. II. I say that since the first one is selling like hotcakes on eBay, and everywhere else, that people think that the same thing will occur with Mickey Mouse in Living Color Volume II.

Just got an e-mail that the Tins I ordered at $24.74 have been reduced to $23.09 ... so the pre-orders thru Amazon have just gone down an additional $6.60 for all Four

I'm sure yours is coming...it's standard practice for thm to e-mail folks with Pre-Orders if Price Drops occur. Then again. maybe they read your hate-filled, anti-Luke ramblings and decided you don't deserve an e-mail notification ....

Yeah, me too.
And I'm certainly not complaining!
Now if only they could KEEP dropping between now and then...

They've actually taken about $4 off the Lion King (Gift Set) and various other things too.
I got for Nemo last week....
