The categories disappeared once, and I tried to add new ones and then the old ones came back...which brings us to the psychadelic loony shape the poll is now in. :o

No changing votes and your total could reasonably fit into a number of answers. Whoops...

I've got 62 Disney DVDs. Does Bear in the Big Blue House count? I have 3 of those. How About Muppets take Manhattan? I have that one too.

I also own the Fox Totoro, but will probably upgrade to the Disney if that is letterboxed with Spanish & English languages.

Others I own on VHS and refuse to "upgrade", since the DVD editions are so lacking, such as the "Honey I Shrunk" movies, The Absent Minded Professor, or Pinocchio (the nifty documentary is missing on the DVD).

Does Splash count? Does Spirited Away count?

Bear in the Big Blue House is Nickelodeon/Paramount (Viacom), I think.
Muppets Take Manhattan is Columbia/TriStar.
Splash is Touchstone, which is a branch of Disney, but no more a "Disney" film than "Rushmore" or "Con Air."
Spirited Away is ALMOST "Disney" except that Disney had nothing to do with it except distribution. The "Disney" name doesn't really appear on the DVD, I think, and it's obviously a Studio Ghibli import, in any event.

I wouldn't count any of those.

All I have is Lilo and Stitch staring Chihiro from the English track of Spirited Away. I'm saving my money to buy the Lion King Gift Box Set, The Lion King 1.5, and Simba's Pride.

I think Spirited Away has some trailers for Finding Nemo, The Jungle Book 2, and The Lion King Special Edition.

Doesn't Buena Vista Japan have a (sizable) percentage ownership of Studio Ghibli?
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Well I finally got mine all counted up!!!

Post by Papa Bear »

I have 216, which does not include any touchstone, miramax, and ect. But it does include my Anchor Bay DVD's that were originally produced by Disney and I also included all three of my Studio Ghibli Disney imports. Nor does this include my 3 anne of green gables DVD's or my Road to Avonlea DVD's The only Disney Dvd's I am missing are the 2 Stanley Dvd's and the 2 playhouse disney robot dvd's (the name slips my mind for now) nor do I have any of the "Baby so and so" DVD's which I beleive there like 12 or 13 of those now. But I have all the rest of them!

I'm just going by the fact that Disney stores sell BITBBH merchandise. They also have a deal with Henson's Muppets (whatever the company is called) and a deal with Bagdasarian's The Chipmunks(!).

I have no idea about the licensing details.

With Ghibli it is merely distribution outside of Japan. If anybody is interested the deal is explained here in detail:

http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/disney/

And by the way, subscribe to the Nausicaa.net mailing list if you are even faintly interested in Ghibli films. Highly recommended!!!

Well, if you're going to own any DVD or VHS, it should be none other than Beauty and the Beast-it is my most prized possession (well, one of them).

Yeah, technically Snow White is my mom's, but hopefully when it is time for me to move out and take my DVD's with me she'll forget   . She also owns the Encahanted Christmas and Little Mermaid, but she can have those! I really hope TLM - Platinum comes out soon. My actual list of Animated classics, incase I haven't already listed them includes:

Alice in Wonderland (ready to upgrade)
Beauty and the Beast (see Prince Adam's comment^^^)
Hercules (not the best elling of the story, but still an enjoyable film, I guess)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (hope I can upgrade to a 2 dics set soon!)
Lilo and Stitch (another possible upgrade, but not neccessary, for the time being)
Oliver and Company (a regretful purchase :( )
The Sword in the Stone (would love a 2 disc set!!)
Treasure Planet

And the soon to owns are:

Sleeping Beauty!!!!!
and The Lion King

The only Disney DVDs I have are Lilo and Stitch, and Monsters Inc. I plan to get Finding Nemo for Christmas. One of the movies Disney should release is Song of the South. But then they could also release the 3 Brer Rabbit stories from Song of the South onto video and DVD. It would be called Disney's The Tales of Brer Rabbit. Some of the DVD features could be:
"A Tribute To Joel Chander Harris" TV special
Documentaries include:
" Bring Live Action chracters in an Animated World"
" The Look behind Song of the South"
" Splash Mountain: The ride based on the movie"
Singalong Songs include:
Zip-A-Dee-Doh-Dah
Everybody's Got A Laughing Place
How Do You Do

How does that sound for a DVD? :)

Sounds good. I'd also like to hear an audio commentary and see a trailer for each of it's theatrical releases (like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs).
What would this wretched world be like without Disney?
