Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Actually if you read the comments section of the link or even one of the earlier links I posted, you'd see that Chewbacca is very much alive. It's just a fakeout to drive Rey closer to the breaking point and turn to the dark side if she thinks that her new powers killed her friend. I think they'll do something with C-3PO as well later on.

^ Phew! I had read what you previously posted and I think I was remembering how you mentioned the Legends and Chewy died in the books? No dead Chewy = I'm happy! Thanks!!

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Lol, Chewie meets an especially awful end in Legends since he's killed after a moon falls on top of him. There's now way that Disney would kill off one of their Legacy characters who, unlike characters like Luke, Leia, Han, and Lando, can continue to exist for generations to come.

Part 2 of the leaks. The final part should be coming out in a few days.

As confirmed, Chewie is still alive. And don't worry about 3PO, he'll be back by the final act. I just hope they don't kill Kylo off permanently at the end of the film since he's already got a death fakeout in this act.

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
I don’t understand why in God’s name everybody (particularly people on Facebook, Twitter or wherever) are so quick to assume doom for this movie after leaks have gotten out. And no, I still didn’t bother to look at the leaks for obvious reasons.
Also, why the hell do I have a bad feeling in my gut that R2 won’t make it to the curtain call or that the Millennium Falcon will get destroyed?

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
I'm impressed that you've managed to hear so much uproar about the leaks without actually being spoiled by the content.
I can't see Disney killing off R2. Legacy characters like Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2 should be safe because Disney can reuse these characters over and over and they're permanent fixtures in the Disney Parks too. Characters like Luke, Leia, Han, and even the new sequel characters like Rey, Kylo, Finn, and Poe won't have that same longevity without recasting them. The Millennium Falcon is a major ride and also a fixture of the new Star Wars land so I don't think Disney would destroy it.
What's interesting about R2 is that he's been completely absent from all the promotion for the film and the leaks as well.

Well, I just heard things like, “If these leaks are true, then that means the movie will totally fail.” or something like that.JeanGreyForever wrote:I'm impressed that you've managed to hear so much uproar about the leaks without actually being spoiled by the content.

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
That's par for the course when it comes to the Star Wars fandom. Endgame got the same reactions when the spoilers were leaked a few days before the premiere, and everyone was claiming that the MCU would crash and burn and never recover. Clearly that was anything but the case.DisneyJedi wrote: Well, I just heard things like, “If these leaks are true, then that means the movie will totally fail.” or something like that.

More leaks on the final climax of the film. This is not Part III of the outline that I've posted the first two parts for before, although that should be coming soon. This focuses more on Palpatine's role.

I don't think you have to put that in spoiler tags since he was in the poster from the beginning.

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
That's a good quality to have!
I'm looking forward to a few new characters actually. Klaud, because I like his design and am trying to figure out why he's important enough to keep popping up in marketing. Jannah, because that Vanity Fair picture of her riding that creature and firing energy blasts from her bow and arrow make her seem like a really dynamic character. Also D-O because Disney has done a great job with their new droids and it looks like D-O will become part of the main group alongside Jannah.
BTW the third and final part of the leaks has been released. The above spoiler becomes apparent here as well.

Also a new official still of the Knights of Ren.

New still of Kylo Ren and interview with Chris Terrio, co-writer.

Speaking to Empire in the world exclusive Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker issue, co-writer Chris Terrio opened up about the complex bond between the trilogy’s Force-sensitive duo. “Some of the most interesting scenes in The Last Jedi are the conversations between Rey and Ren,” he said, noting the different side of Ben Solo that Rey is able to tap into. "We’ve tried to pick up that complicated relationship that really has been present ever since the interrogation in Episode VII. When Ren takes off his mask, there’s a nakedness about him with Rey that he doesn’t express to anyone else. Rian developed that in fascinating ways and we’ve been able to develop it even further.”

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
I'm trying to find the right link to check out, but I"m being a bit overwhelmed with information in all of them !
What exactly happens ( that we know so far ) to Leia in this film ? I gathered that she is in the movie a lot more than a cameo as we originally thought. Does she die ? As her 'light is fading' I think I read. And Billie was seen on set ... so was she doing some CGI type stuff for her mum ?

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
The film will open with her training Rey as Rey's Jedi Master. There will be a flashback here as well of Luke training Leia as a Jedi shortly after ROTJ with CGI being used to de-age them. Leia will reveal she's pregnant and give up her training in this flashback. We know from the teaser that she'll hug Rey goodbye at some point (possibly when she leaves to go on the main mission) and also be seen carrying one of the medals from ANH, probably either Luke or Han's.
There are also rumors of a flashback reuniting Luke, Leia, and Han, also using de-aged technology. Supposedly this may have been filmed for TFA since a child was cast to play young Ben as the scene would involve Leia and Han dropping Ben off at Luke's for Jedi training.
The leaks didn't specify this, but the cast and crew have confirmed that Leia will have scenes with Poe, Rose, and Connix at the Resistance base, her scene with the former likely before he heads off on the main mission with the rest of the main characters. For most of the film, I gather Leia will be on the Resistance base leading like in TFA and TLJ. There was a deleted subplot from TFA about the Resistance using Death Star technology for their own ships called Warhammers. Apparently a lot of this footage of Leia will turn up again in this film although I think the Warhammer plot has all been scrapped (or repurposed for the First Order since the new Imperial Star Destroyers that Palpatine has hidden in the Unknown Regions and which have been shown in the second teaser are equipped with Death Star technology).
During the end of Act II, she'll pass away, likely from complications from her injuries in TLJ. When this happens, Luke will visit her to help her transition into becoming a force ghost (although we may not see him in this scene). This will occur concurrently with Kylo and Rey's final duel and both will be heavily affected by sensing Leia's passing. Rey will use this to her advantage to fatally injure Kylo before using her new healing powers to save him.
When Rey heads to Ahch-To to exile herself for being unable to deal with the dark side growing in her, force ghost Luke will appear to give her a pep talk. Rey will want to see Leia but Luke will tell her that Leia hasn't fully transitioned to the other side yet but will always be with her or something like that. Then he'll reveal that Leia gave him her lightsaber after that first flashback scene and he kept it on Ahch-To this whole time. Rey will then take this lightsaber for herself.
During the final battle, Rey will use Leia's lightsaber while Kylo will use Anakin/Luke's lightsaber against Palpatine. Supposedly the force ghosts of Luke and Leia will appear to help them defeat Palpatine although a new leak claims that the force ghosts of all the previous Jedi won't visibly appear but just be heard. I don't know how true that is and I hope it isn't, but maybe force ghosts of previous Jedi (like Yoda and Obi-Wan) will only be heard as Rey channels their power while Luke and Leia will actually appear.
During the final scene on Tatooine, the force ghosts of Luke and Leia will appear (maybe for the first time in the film together if they have indeed been cut from the final battle) to Rey. Rey will be burying Luke and Leia's two lightsabers but not before she's taken parts from both to build a new lightsaber, one with a yellow/golden-colored blade.
Billie plays Connix so she's on set for that but also because she plays the stand-in for young Leia, at least as her body double, in the flashback(s).

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
I would take the leaks with a grain of salt right now because the people posting them have admitted to making their own educated guesses from the information they have been provided with as to make a coherent narrative. For example, one of the leakers, Jason Ward, was responsible for TLJ leaks which were almost all accurate except for Rey and Luke dueling Kylo and the Knights of Ren on Ahch-To. Rey and Luke's mini-battle after he sees her with Kylo was misconstrued in the dark, rainy night especially since Adam Driver was also there for his scenes so it was assumed that he would be fighting.
I think in general, people who liked the previous two films will feel similarly towards this one whereas anyone who hasn't liked the ST films so far will not particularly be satisfied this time around either. Luckily I'm in the former camp so I know I'll be enjoying this!
BTW, found this interesting article.
https://www.cinemablend.com/news/248128 ... d-spoilers
Only about 1/3 of the merchandise will initially be released for the film. The other 2/3 contain too many spoilers and won't be released until afterwards.

JeanGreyForever, I cannot thank you enough for your breakdown ! Absolutely brilliant to read, to save scrolling the little bits of info here and there. Really do appreciate it.
I'm really not sure how I feel about Leia's ending. I guess it makes total sense to have her pass away, but it just feels so sad. She had a life of battles & war, her husband she grew estranged from then passed away, Ben Solo and what happened to him ... just feels like a sad ending to such an epic character ? Unless I'm reading too much into it due to Carrie actually dying, maybe that could be mingled in there as well.
