I do agree that it's poor by today's standards, but I wouldn't call it godawful. It is clearer than the UK DVD release, though, if a little smeared. I streamed the clip kylemj provided to my 50 incher, and when I sat at the right distance, it was definitely watchable. That clip is pretty clean too. Of course, the cleanliness has almost definitely been achieved using automated cleanup software and not via a painstaking frame-by-frame restoration.Lnds500 wrote:Man, it looks like the dated WEB-DL rip that has been flying about on the net and it is god-awful.
Guys, I need to ask something. Did those of you who purchased the Disney Animated iPad app notice that the clips from the package films (in the Timeline section) seemed surprisingly colourful and clean? It's a shame the app doesn't let you view the clips fullscreen, as I suspect that despite looking so tiny, the clips are probably at least in standard definition. I'm wondering whether the films have been restored, and have HD masters waiting to be slapped onto Blu-ray or HD Digital Download. I hope it's the former.
