I like the picture too although it is weird that they chose her redesign for her.

That's a great picture of Jasmine (even if it is the re-design).

I love it! I don't care if you'll hate me for saying this
, but I actually like the redesigns. However, I don't plan on buying it.

It's not a Disney book, and it's not even new, but I just found out yesterday that Claire Keane's put out a picture book. It looks kind of cute:

Re: Disney Books in 2013-2016
I recently bought the new Alice book (An Illustrated Journey Through Time) and have now read most of it, excluding the final pages on the new movie that comes out this year to avoid spoilers.
Like Once Upon a Dream and A Wish Your Heart Makes most of the book does not focus on the live-action movies, but instead traces the history of Disney adaptaions from the Alice comedies through the theme park attractions based on the animated feature (which is the main focus of the book). There's lots of great information, even if you've read some of it before, and the collection of concept art, animation drawings and production photos is appropriately wonderful. With a SRP of $30 it's also not horribly expensive (although there's no hardcover version as far as I know).
My biggest complaint? Despite call outs to the many Disney versions of Alice (inclduing the TV commercials from the 50s) there's not one reference to the TV series Adventures in Wonderland, despite the fact that it ran for 100 episodes and won 6 Daytime Emmys.

I just ordered the "Illusion of Life" book, by Ollie Johnston & Frank Thomas online. So many animation fans and movie bufs recommended I get it, and I saw that someone uploaded a video on YouTube, showing the contents, and it does look good.

Re: Disney Books in 2013-2016
There will be more big-sized Disney books like the Disney princess ones, but covering non-princess movies. The difference is, it looks like, they won't have the extra nice, detailed, shaded artwork the princess ones got, except it looks like maybe The Jungle Book will for some reason. The pictures will be nice and have detail, but not as much as the princess ones. Here's what I found:
Disney Aladdin: The Story of Jasmine (Movie Collection Storybook)Jun 14, 2016 (well we did know about that one already)
Disney Mickey: The Story of Mickeys Adventures (Movie Collection Storybook)Jun 14, 2016
Disney Mickey: The Story of Mickeys Christmas Carol (Movie Collection Storybook)Jun 14, 2016
Disney Peter Pan: The Story of Peter Pan (Movie Collection Storybook)May 17, 2016
Disney 101 Dalmatians: The Story of 101 Dalmatians (Movie Collection Storybook)May 17, 2016
Disney Pinocchio: The Story of Pinocchio (Movie Collection Storybook)May 17, 2016
Disney Bambi: The Story of Bambi (Movie Collection Storybook)May 17, 2016
The Story of Alice in Wonderland (Movie Collection Storybook: Disney)Apr 15, 2016
The Story of Lion King (Movie Collection Storybook: Disney)Apr 15, 2016
The Story of Jungle Book (Movie Collection Storybook: Disney)Apr 15, 2016
The Story of Dumbo (Movie Collection Storybook: Disney)Apr 15, 2016
The Story of Lady and the Tramp (Movie Collection Storybook: Disney)Apr 15, 2016
And that appears to be it other than the princess one we already know about.

Interesting. Maybe the illustrations will be updated, like the Princess books, and just the cover artwork features old illustrations.

Where is the story books about Hercules and Quasimodo? So annoying to witness how Disney chose to continue to neglect these two classic movies.
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

Re: Disney Books in 2013-2016
I doubt they will have illustrations like the princess films got (except The Jungle Book for who knows why). Floyd Norman, a Disney animator and story guy said he worked on books that wewre for the princess films, and only specified the princess films. Also, the covers look just like the illustrations the previous big books for so many of the Disney films had.
As for Hercules and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, my guess is Disney never made "big" books for those films, but I may be wrong. But yes, all the Disney Animated Classics should get these books. Even though I feel like it should just be the "good" Disney films that get them, but what the "good" films are is subjective...

I just ordered the Ariel, Cinderella and Belle books from the Princess collection, along with the Cinderella cinestory comic. I can't wait to see those illustrations. I hope the books are as good as the Snow White one.

Re: Disney Books in 2013-2016
I don't think you'll be sorry. The only thing I feel amiss is Cinderella doesn't have a picture of Cinderella and the Prince dancing. The Cinderella Cinestory comic was nice but I don't feel they needed to have almost every frame from the movie...lol I bought it anyway, as it's my favorite film! For some reason in July, Disney is releasing the Cinestory comic with special covers. I don't know why, and the cover art hasn't been released yet. I'm excited to see what they'll look like.

Re: Disney Books in 2013-2016
I thought the Cinderella cover was lovely, with a truly pretty picture of her.
Yeah, I saw they will release new editions of the cinestories. I couldn't wait anymore, so I just ordered the regular one.

Yea I agree on that picture of Cinderella. I wonder if it was insprired by the above shot of Cinderella transforming from the 2015 live-action film.
Haha, couldn't wait anymore? Yea, well I'm not sure what new there will be besides covers, so I don't think it matters, lol.

I'll wait to see what the cover looks like.
Also, I found this on Amazon. Do you know anything about it? A Snow White book, Archive Edition?

Re: Disney Books in 2013-2016
You thought so too about the possible live-action Disney Cinderella above shot influence, or about how the covers will probably be just what's different about the other Cinderella Cinestory books?
As for that Snow White Archive book, I haven't seen that at all before. It looks great. Maybe when it comes out Amazon or Google or eBay will show you some pictures of what it looks like inside and you can decide if you want it.

About the Snow White book, it's Snow White, so I will most likely want it Usually, Snow White books have gorgeous imagery.

I received the previous Princess books and the Cinderella comic. You were absolutely right, the illustrations are beautiful. They're all beautiful, but Snow White is the crown jewel, like you said, they nailed the watercolor backgrounds. I can't wait to see what Sleeping Beauty will look like. The Cinderella comic is very nice, and I especially love the Leonard Maltin introduction. I did not expect it to be that large, though.
