I definitely noticed the huge difference of reception between watching it now and watching it back then. I can always remember watching it during its original run, when Michael Jackson appeared first on screen and whenever a Cast Member would say his name and, there would be screams. Compared to now, where the theater is only 1/3 filled, most people basically say "eh". It just feels like the whole attraction is on life support.MeerkatKombat wrote: I got stuck at Disneyland Paris in the rain when Captain EO was back. Whilst it was kinda fun seeing it again after so long, I agree, so over the top and cheesy. I would love a new show but Disneyland Paris is hardly rolling in the moneys.

Re: Captain EO
I'm kind of surprised that it's still around. It made sense to bring it back when Michael died, and I'm sure it was a bigger deal for a good year or so afterwords, but it will be 5 years since he died this summer, and I feel that the novelty is gone for the attraction's return. I can see it be time for the show to be retired once more. Maybe they can try it again come its 30th anniversary or during some other event, but it's had a good second run.

Please don't let Jay Rasulo be the next CEO! He'll destroy everything for his own greedy self.

I don't think it's up to us to decide who the next CEO is. There is nothing you can do about the decision.TsWade2 wrote:Please don't let Jay Rasulo be the next CEO! He'll destroy everything for his own greedy self.
You got a whole two years until Iger leaves. Calm down until then.
Re: Iger to Remain CEO and Chairman Until 2016
I know. I just don't trust Jay Rasulo. He's an evil and greedy man. And I bet he doesn't like Disney at all. Nobody likes him. I just hope it's Tom Staggs.MeerkatKombat wrote:I don't think it's up to us to decide who the next CEO is. that blog hasnt been updated since 2009.

Re: Iger to Remain CEO and Chairman Until 2016
I'm starting to feel that I might give Jay Rasulo a second chance, if he gets elected. Maybe keeping an eye on theme parks is not his thing. But I'm going to vote for Tom Staggs. Even though I'm uncertain if he has love for hand drawn, but what he did with are beloved theme parks was a true creativity.

No surprise there.
Re: Bob Iger to remain CEO until mid-2018
well folks since bob is in office til 2018 do not expect song of the south out anytime soon. bob has already stated that as long as he is CEO of DISNEY he will never release song of the south on dvd or Blu-ray because it is to damaging to the company and to its share holders. as far as im concerned this movie would bring in billions of dollars. practically everyone wants it. these fat cats from Disney need to grow a set of balls and release the film.

Re: Bob Iger to remain CEO until mid-2018
With people ready to spend $billions on squeals to Marvel, Star Wars & live-action fairy-tale fanfic films Iger will be on top the world for the rest of this decade! Good for him

Re: Bob Iger to remain CEO until mid-2018
But will he be on top of the world to bring back hand drawn animation?DisneyEra wrote:With people ready to spend $billions on squeals to Marvel, Star Wars & live-action fairy-tale fanfic films Iger will be on top the world for the rest of this decade! Good for him

According to Iger 2D is not profitable enough. And with WDAS & Pixar making $$$ with their current CGI, why would he go back to 2D? Now if BH6 & Inside Out fail at the Box Office, that still won't make him change his mind, he will just move on to the next CGI film & order squeals to films like Frozen, Toy Story, Cars, Nemo, ect. But hey lets see what the BH6 short "Feast" will look like. Still haven't seen none of it in action.TsWade2 wrote:But will he be on top of the world to bring back hand drawn animation?DisneyEra wrote:With people ready to spend $billions on squeals to Marvel, Star Wars & live-action fairy-tale fanfic films Iger will be on top the world for the rest of this decade! Re: Disney Extends Bob Iger's Contract as CEO and Chairman
Iger has been great for Disney and expanding its brand imo. I don't mind him staying at all
Now that the parks are finally getting some love (about 10 years too late) I don't really have any major complaints about the direction of the company. Movies (both live action and animated) are definitely in a good spot at the moment.

Re: Disney Extends Bob Iger's Contract as CEO and Chairman
Is anybody really surprised? The Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm purchases all happened under his leadership, not to mention billion dollar successes like Alice in Wonderland and Frozen. Is there any shock the shareholders want to keep it on?
