I agree with this.

I saw the first two episodes a while back and didn't continue because they were so dull. But HBO had a free weekend and was apparently rerunning the entire series for the 4th season premiere and I decided to watch. The ending of season 3 totally gutted me. I still can't say I'm a fan of the show, but at least now I understand why it's so popular. Probably won't end up seeing season 4 for a long time.
TheSequelOfDisney wrote:And, can I just say how much of a fan I am of Daenerys Targaryen? The Mother of Dragons has been my favorite character since season one, and I've loved watching her storyline this season. I can't wait to see what becomes of her; I've never read the novels, so I have no idea what'll happen to her, but I hope it's great.
She's one of my favorites, too, after seeing all 3 seasons, although to begin with I didn't particularly care about that storyline.

Season/book 2 was easily the worst for Dany. Her arc can literally be described in just this one phrase "MA DRAGONS!!!".

Well, it seems I'm one of those who actually adored her storyline in the second season, especially in the finale. I think it's fascinating to see her fail. And I know there'll be more of that this season, so I'm happy. But the Targaryens are my favourites too, after the Tyrells and the Lannisters, of course.

Well I'm a Stark loyalist to the bone. The Martells and Greyjoys are pretty cool, too. :P

I like Dany a lot more in the books, but to be honest, the bad stuff will come soon.

Anyway, great intro! Gotta love Oberyn of all people, he's just as cool as he was in the book. One wants to punch Tywin in the cajones. And Arya is going down a dark path....

Looks like everything is picking up.

Joffrey died a season earlier than I expected. I was spoiled for it last year by mistake(the website had two types of spoiler tags, so it wasn't specified. One of the worst moments of my entertainment life). And man, Loras and Brienne are gonna get badly served.

The wedding did too.

I liked(hated) the mock war.

I wonder what Bran actually made of what he saw in his vision. It's an awful lot

I thought they did some interesting stuff though with the last episode of that season. Huge departure from the book. She is one of my favorites, along with the Starks.

You know, I love how the TWC descriptions and synopses always try hard not to reveal spoilers from previous episodes, and even seasons. "Joffrey and Margaerie host a Breakfast." "Tyrian helps Jaime" "Ramsey finds a purpose for his pet".

Also, they appear to have recanted Tommen.

It just occurred to me that Sansa might've been the one to poison Joffrey, though my first instinct was Margaerie with the Pie

I spoiled that for me last year when I googled the purple wedding, but it's possible they've changed it for the show.

Well, don't spoil it for me(and I hope there's no implications here)I'm behind in the books.

Lovely episode. I had the most sadistic grin on my face at the end. :D

I loved Bran's vision, too. I'm hoping they get to be more creative with them as time goes on.

Avaitor, I wouldn't say Dany's arc was "bad", at least not in A Clash of Kings. Maybe the whole stay at Qarth, but the House of the Undying chapter was amazing (which they totally screwed in the show, yo)...

The second book/season did have highlights for Dany, but it's still my weaklink for her run as of now.

But whoo, bye bye Joffrey!

What a great episode!

I slightly spoiled myself and knew that Joffrey was going to die in this episode, but I didn't know how he would die. Poisoning is kind of cool, I guess, but I would have liked to have seen a more gruesome death. In any case, there is no more Joffrey and I am, for the most part, pleased. The only problem is that I don't really have anyone to hate on now.

Hate Ramsay! He's the scariest thing in the show.

I knew what was going to happen to Joffrey. It didn't make it any less enjoyable.
He deserved worse.

EDIT: Can't believe we are two episodes in already

I've been thinking about that. And after the death of her second husband, Margaery will surely be considered a black widow. Poor girl...

That was another fantastic episode, but I keep having a problem with the new Daario. Michiel and Ed don't look or act alike. It just confounds me. I guess I really hate recastings and this has to be the most noticeable yet (see the rest here).

Michiel is an improvement in terms of acting either way. And the chemistry with Emilia Clarke is sizzling now. Ed had no chemistry with her at all.

That and I'm cheering for my fellow Dutchman's Hollywood career. :D
