The Jungle Book - diamond edition
Re: The Jungle Book - diamond edition
I don't regard 'spreading it out a bit' by releasing Mermaid and Jungle within weeks of eachother ?

I'm confused now. Will all the songs be in the movie or will some be removed for the diamond edition?

Re: The Jungle Book - diamond edition
I've just watched my copy here in the UK and one of the bonus features is an interesting little documentary where Frank Thomas' son Ted interviews other children of the Nine Old Men and offers a really personal insight into the lives and careers of some of the greatest animators of all time. I'm not sure if its been released elsewhere and reproduced for the latest Jungle Book release but its definitely something to keep an eye out for when the film is released elsewhere, it was the first time I saw it and its a really nice and interesting bonus for any fan of Disney animation.

That documentary was on the Peter Pan Blu-ray in North America so I doubt they'll include it again on The Jungle Book release here.DisneyAnimation88 wrote:I'm not sure if its been released elsewhere and reproduced for the latest Jungle Book release.

I thought it might have popped up elsewhere, we haven't had Peter Pan re-released here yet.

I'm pretty sure Peter Pan was released on Blu-ray in the UK, just not as part of the Diamond line.DisneyAnimation88 wrote:I thought it might have popped up elsewhere, we haven't had Peter Pan re-released here yet.

You're right, I've completely lost track of what has been released here.

Preorder:

Looks like it may just be the Digital Copy version. No Blu-ray + DVD only version in sight.

Press release:
http://www.dvdizzy.com/junglebook-blura ... -0211.html
Judging by the DVD disc, it looks like the DVD copy is gonna be a re-release of the 40th AE disc.

^ First it states this: "DVD Bonus Features: All the Classic bonus features included in the original DVD release "
and this:
"Sound: Blu-ray: 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio (English); Dolby® Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (French and Spanish)
DVD: Original Theatrical Mix (English); Dolby® Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (English, French and Spanish)"
Then again, with the DVD versions of the recent anniversary editions of Robin Hood, The Muppet Movie, Peter Pan, and The Sword In The Stone, I'd be surprised if the latest DVD version was new too with the new transfer.

So we're not getting a blu-ray+DVD combo? I hate all the gold on the blu+DVD+digital combos.
There a pic of the blu+DVD combo in the press release but there is no link to preorder on amazon. I wonder if amazon is just slow putting up the link.

They are talking about the bonus features of the Blu-ray. It will contain the new stuff plus "Classic DVD bonus features". I'm pretty sure the DVD will be a Vanilla disc as usual.Mickeyfan1990 wrote:^ First it states this: "DVD Bonus Features: All the Classic bonus features included in the original DVD release "
I don't understand why this would indicate a re-release of the Platinum Edition?and this:
"Sound: Blu-ray: 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio (English); Dolby® Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (French and Spanish)
DVD: Original Theatrical Mix (English); Dolby® Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (English, French and Spanish)"
There won't be a new transfer. They'll use the transfer of the Platinum Edition, which is fine. I already have the German Diamond Edition and it looks gorgeous nonetheless. Then again, with the DVD versions of the recent anniversary editions of Robin Hood, The Muppet Movie, Peter Pan, and The Sword In The Stone, I'd be surprised if the latest DVD version was new too with the new transfer.

Yes, but don't have all Diamond Edition DVDs in the US 5.1 tracks in English, French and Spanish, plus an additional track for the Theatrical mix if the film is older?Mickeyfan1990 wrote:Allow me to direct your attention here:Scamander wrote: I don't understand why this would indicate a re-release of the Platinum Edition?

Do you know if the UK version includes the new featurettes that will be on the US release?DisneyAnimation88 wrote:I've just watched my copy here in the UK and one of the bonus features is an interesting little documentary where Frank Thomas' son Ted interviews other children of the Nine Old Men and offers a really personal insight into the lives and careers of some of the greatest animators of all time.
