I think the longer "One that Started It All" is "Through the Decades" again as it's the same runtime, but a different title. Perhaps it would make sense if "The One That Started It All" is the name of the new documentary.

Sometimes they re-classify stuff again even if nothing changes. I remember some Doctor Who episodes got re-classified at BBFC even if nothing has changed in them.

A 16-minute documentary? :( In that case I hope the previous one is included.

While the DVD release is still 4 months away, merchandise tie-ins are already starting to hit store shelves. Check out this playset that just arrived on amazon.com:

It is a doll of Snow White with a kitchen set for her to play in, along with an apron. Click here.

Or this doll that lights up and sings:

Or this PVC playset complete with Prince and changeable outfits.

I'm guessing this is just the beginning. Last year, it seemed like stores were bombarded with Sleeping Beauty tie-ins, including a version of the board game Pretty Pretty Princess devoted entirely to her. I'm assuming a doll set of Snow White and the Prince will be hitting shelves in the future, as well as a set with multiple dresses, possibly a store exclusive, which was the case if kids wanted to get Aurora's blue dress last year (evil Wal Mart). And of course, Disney Store hasn't released their exclusive merchandise either. If any of you have kids in your life, that was the best place last year for Sleeping Beauty. They had a doll for $30 that came with the pink dress, the blue dress, the Briar Rose dress, a new dress, as well as multiple crowns and shoes and Prince Phillip was sold separately. There were also lots of plushes, apparel, etc...

On Amazon, there are update pictures of the Collectors Set.

If you zoom in, you can see good pictures of the Blu-ray packagings spine. It looks as though the lithos will be sketches. The box that holds it all is still gorgeous.

That looks really nice, but $149.99?! That's like a small electronic - or 7 other DVDs. Just don't know if it's worth the price tag!

I really don't think it is. It should at least be around the same price as the new Blu-rays for The Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind. Not to mention that those sets have more collectibles than this does. I'm passing on this simply because it's not really worth it. I'm plannin on just getting the regular old Blu-ray and call it a day.

I agree. I'm glad I preordered it and locked in the price around $150, as I'm sure it won't be cheaper in stores. That's like a 40% mark down.

it is gorgeous. to bad the dvd cover art is so horrible. it doesn't fit the splendor of that amazing set at all.

At least the price is better than the original $250. And you know it's a Disney product if it's overpriced and unlikely to drop much.

Are you the ultimate Snow White fan?

If so, you'll be at Comic-Con, buying this replica of the Queen's Heart Box:

Paging Deco King...

The only problem with the Heart Box is...well, since no one will be using it to store hearts, what would be the best thing for them use it for? I know, I know, it's meant to be a collector's piece that just sits somewhere for people to look at, but if someone wanted to put it to practical use... :P

The Art Deco influence on Snow White

Post by Deco King »

Every Disney movie has a flavour of the decade in which it was created.
The Wicked Queen therefore has a look of two of the biggest ninteen thirties Movie Stars Marlene Dietrich/Joan Crawford the arched eyrebrows of Dietrich and Crawford's lips ! The Heart Box too is a perfect piece of Art Deco design , which as a lover of all things Art Deco - hence my name on here Deco King , is one of the things which attracts me to this favourite movie of mine!

Wow...a new Snow White edition. I didn't think they could top the Platinum release, but it looks like they're going to give us everything they have about the film. I'd rather the production reels than the trinket boxes and all that jazz.

The box isn't being sold at the comic con, only displayed. It will be displayed at D23 Expo as well. The only way to buy it will be online, so everybody has a chance at getting one. It won't be available until sometime this Fall.

I'm waiting to hear what the price will be. I would love to have this, since my favorite kind of Disney collectibles are replicas of props from films. I'm really hoping they eventually make the snow globe used in Mary Poppins during Feed the Birds.
