What Movie Did You Just Watch? - Forever
Pinocchio: I really enjoyed watchin this film again. Seein the film restored, hearin the songs in 5.1 surrond sound. The film is a true gem in the Disney canon and I greatly appericate it. The bonus feats were a treat especialy the Live Action Refrence segment.
The Incredibles: A family of superheros tryin to adjust to normal life was a brillant idea and works perfectly, Syndrome's character wasn't too powerful nor too reckless, the personality was just right, course I kinda wish he had more screen time.

Slumdog Millionaire
Finally I got to see it in theaters (it was released here in Germany 2 weeks ago) and it truly is one of the best movies of 2008. The photography is breathtaking and the movie makes you go from crying to laughing to being shocked and back again. And although the violence is sometimes a bit much, I have no doubt that life in the slums is like that and applaud Boyle for being realistic. The last 30 minutes are amazing and that little touch of Bollywood at the end certainly will leave noone without a smile when they exit the theater.

The Crying Game - beautiful, touching and poetic. Brilliant film. Highly recommended.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - I didn't like this one at all, it was a bizarre mishmash of almost every movie genre known to man... BUT... for some strange reason, I'm terribly drawn to it to the point of thinking about it for days... Damn you, Tim Curry!!!

I just came back from seeing Hannah Montana: The Movie. I absolutely loved it...I think I can honestly say that it is one of the best films I've ever seen. I knew that I'd like it, since I'm a big fan of the show, but I cried more than I laughed- it has a lot of heart. It was very well-made, and I am very satisfied!

So I take it you haven't seen that many?blackcauldron85 wrote:I just came back from seeing Hannah Montana: The Movie. I absolutely loved it...I think I can honestly say that it is one of the best films I've ever seen.
Pane e tulipani ('Bread and tulips', 2000)
Beautiful feelgood movie about Rosalba, an Italian housewife who is 'forgotten' by her family during a vacation. She's getting a lift from someone, but instead of going home, she decides to visit Venice. She quickly makes new friends and finds a job. So why should she go back?

I know, it sounds crazy. I love the show, but I had no idea that the movie was as good as it is until I saw it. I like movies like this and like Ice Princess, where the characters have a dream and they go after it...I just like movies like that!xxhplinkxx wrote:Nope, I'm with Goliath on this one.PeterPanfan wrote: Or, you know, she could have a different taste in movies than you?

Oh, stop rolling your eyes already! I'm just having a little fun with her!PeterPanfan wrote:Or, you know, she could have a different taste in movies than you?
Obviously, everybody has his or her own taste in movies. I have certain tastes and I like certain films, but that doesn't mean everything I like is also *good*. For example, I like all films with Matthew Perry. Even though he plays the same character in every one of them, I still think he's funny, and that's why I like the films. But that doesn't mean I think they are good. Quite the opposite: they are very bad. But I enjoy them nevertheless.

The Day the Earth Stood Still: Eh. Watch it if you're bored, but otherwise you can live without it.
Punisher: Warzone: Ridiculous!
Fun to watch if you're a Marvel/Punisher fan. And who doesn't love Julie Benz??
Doubt: It was, without a doubt (haha!!), awesome! Great performances. Meryl Streep is a freaking goddess. Amy Adams is also fantastic.

The other Bolyen Girl Heard a lot about Henry the Eight and Anne Bolyen, never knew she had a sister named Mary who gave the king a (bastard) son. Have to look that up in history.
Laputa, Castle in the Sky: again another fascinating animated movie from studio Gibli; a bit long though as most of the Gilbi films.

Paris, Je T'aime - god, I love this movie. Jane hadn't seen it, and she mentioned some time ago that she wanted to watch it, so we watched it. She thought it was boring, because you can't connect to the characters since they come and go so quickly in the short films. I still love it.
The Thorn Birds - not really a movie, it's a miniseries, and technically we didn't finish it yet. It's a lot of soapy melodrama about a priest who's torn between his devotion to God and his love for a woman.
