I haven't had time to make a new Sailor Moon pic like I've wanted so I thought I'd post an old pic that's buried in my gallery instead:

Image

I do feel that Sailor Moon is a bit of a teeny bopper, but I believe that's part of her appeal. She whines a lot, gets excited over little things, has a jealous streak, loves to eat and go shopping, cries easily, but is a loyal friend that get serious whenever she really needs to. In other words, much of her personality is pretty normal for someone her age, and there's something satisfying about watching her personality mature and develop over the run of the series.

And as for the whole "natural blonde" thing, I agree that seeing a blonde Japanese girl just wouldn't feel natural when it comes to live action (which is why I feel the changing of their hair color during the henshin works well for Pretty Guardian). I don't think Serena/Usagi *has* to be depicted as Japanese anyway if a new version is made; although the original setting is in Japan the creators agree that much of the story is universal and could take place in any part of the world. It also explains why the anime was a success outside of the culture it was originally depicted in.

if they do a movie i wonder how the names will go?
i can see them calling serena Bunny in it maybe there jap names can be there past life names just not for serena or tux.

i also thought of Movie titles for the five movies instead of R S Ss StarS

1.Sailor Moon JUST A SIMPLE TITLE

2.Sailor Moon - And the Dark Moon Clan

3.Sailor Moon- And the Witches5

4.Sailor Moon- And The Dead Moon Circus

5.Sailor Moon- Shadow Galactiac

Prequel Sailor Moon- Code Name Sailor V

what you think?

Funimation posted a new survey on their site to gauge reactions as to what anime the fans want to see from them. While most of them are newer shows in Japan, there are a couple one that are older. Notably, one of the options is a redub of all of Sailor Moon. No more details are available right now. You can find the survey by clicking here http://blog.funimation.com/2009/05/we-need-your-input/. Funimation has worked miracles with older licenses in the past, it's possible that they could work one with Sailor Moon. I encourage everyone to make your voices heard and vote for a rebirth of our show on this side of the Pacific. As long as we continue to show our support whenever we get the chance, something will have to happen eventually.

I'd like to see a rerelease... I don't know about a redub. I mean, the original dub is very flawed, I know, but that's how I got into the show. Maybe if they got some of the voices back, but a new Serena/Sailor Moon, ha. I just wish they would rerelease all the old DVDs. I have only a handful, and there were so many. I mean both the dub and the non-dub DVDs. And they need to release the live-action stuff...

Wow, my mind if reeling over the possibility of a new dub. If it's done well, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat, especially for the episodes that were either skipped over or combined. It would be amazing to be able to watch the last season in english as well.

Then don't watch the new dub!

Besides, you'll never get to hear Serena in her last adventure in the last season, Sailor Stars, unless they got all the old voice actors back, and they could still sound like they did before, I guess.

It may be a Sailor Moon you don't like, but that's alright. You can watch your old dubs and the original versions, and pretend the new one never happened.

I would love a redub. Especially if it is more faithful to the Japanese version. Also please give Luna the kind of voice she was intended to have. Not the English Nanny voice. I get what they were going for with it, but it doesn't work for me.

I would love a re-dub as long as they hire actual voice talent rather then these idiots they use in the cheaply dubbed anime these days that all sound the same and can't convey an emotion other than child like giddiness.

I wouldn't be worried about the re-dub as Funimation has great dubs except only DBZ franchise. I'm sure they would give all the needs fans want of it.

However I highly doubt it will be liscensed again as Toei is a prick and does not want to sell the anime at all anymore.

What are you talking about? Anime dubs nowadays ARE superiorly better than ones back then. Stop thinking all anime dubs are like 4Kids, Saban, or DIC

I'm not saying that they aren't. I'm saying that if Sailor Moon were to get re-dubbed it better not get the treatment 4Kids, Saban etc shows get.

Relax.

I'm not against dubbing Sailor Stars. I'm all for that. And if they weren't capable of hiring sound alikes, we could consider this the end of Mickey Mouse. In fact, that would have been a long time ago. Frankly, I would rather they focus on dubbing Sailor Stars before starting from the beginning again and possibly never getting to Sailor Stars... AGAIN...

Not really, since I don't have the old dubs because I didn't have money when they were available, and they never rereleased them, and if they do a new dub, they definitely never will. Not that I'd expect them to. All I'm saying is, the only thing I'm going to support right now is a dub of Sailor Stars and a dub of the live-action show, or at least U.S. releases of them. Those are something we don't even have yet. I'm okay with a redub since there were episodes missing and different plot points, but I certainly hope at least some of the voices are similar and I still feel it is more important to get a Sailor Stars version out here and the live-action show as well...

Yeah, but I thought that was because they wanted to promote the live-action show, which is over and flopped, if I have read correctly. Seems like now they'd be willing to cash in on both in the Home Entertainment market.

That's what I would think as well. And this wouldn't be the first time to see a new dub on an old and apparently retired anime.

Oh, and I finally started working on a new SM pic last night. I'm nearly done with the line art and haven't posted it anywhere else yet. For a twist, I thought I'd try to give her the Disney feel instead of her typical anime look, but I'm wondering if she's coming off as more of my own style. :?

And yeah, I know the wand is in no way accurate.
