I'm very proud of Lynette. Even though she is jealous of Bree's success, she's willing to stand beside Bree, and be there for her.

I'm also very glad that Bree finally felt the walls crashing around her, and decided to let Orson be her partner.

I'm guessing that Dave's bizarre obsession with getting Mike to join the band is pointing to Mike being who Dave wants to exact revenge on. If that's the case, Mike's had a really tough time on Wisteria Lane. I think I'd move far away, if I were him!

Here is some juicy gossip about several upcoming episodes of Desperate Housewives! Don't read if you don't want to spoil any surprises.

Lily Tomlin will guest star in a few episodes, as Karen McCluskey's sister, Roberta. Karen recruits Roberta to help dig up dirt on Dave, and Roberta will unearth a disturbing fact about him!

Frances Conroy, who played Ruth on the critically acclaimed HBO series, Six Feet Under, will appear for at least three episodes. She will stir up trouble for Carlos and Garbielle.

Gail O' Grady, who has appeared on shows such as NYPD Blue and American Dreams, as well as guest starred on a number of shows throughout her career, will appear for several episodes, and the word is, she will try to take away one of the men in Lynette's life!

Keeping up with the disaster themed BIG episodes from the past few seasons, this season will see a fire break out. Several will fall, while a hero will rise.

Very exciting stuff! I can't wait to see how this all unfolds!

I thought last night's episode was so-so, but the next one looks very exciting.

I think letting Orson become partner will end up having negative effects on their relationship. Mostly because Katherine's going to be pissed.

I also really liked Susan's storyline; divorce is difficult for everyone involved, even when its civil.

I must say that I disagree about Bree alienating everyone. In fact, everyone acted very child-like and petty, not understanding that while, yes, Bree is a friend and wife, business is business no matter what. She may have been cold about the way she handled the issues at hand, but ultimately it was HER choice to make and she really shouldn't have to answer to people about her choices.

I loved the little talk Lynette had with her at the end. Despite being young, I've been in Bree's shoes before and I know just how horrible it feels feeling that you're only succeeding with a price to pay for it, so her little breakdown at the end hit home with me. I still don't know what to make about Edie's husband. As of now I'm brushing him off as nothing more than a weird freak with anger management issues, but I'm curious to see where the writers are going with this nonetheless. Overall a very strong episode, in my humble opinion.

Just wondering, as the fifth season hasn't started airing yet in Australia, how is this season in terms of the series? Like, how does this season rank, out of the five series, where does it sit, in terms of being good or bad?
Like, i would say that of the 4 series i saw, i'd rank them-
1) Season One
2) Season Four
3) Season Three
4) Season Two

Where does the fifth season sit here?

For me personally, this is the show's best attempt since season 1, and since my rank would be identical to yours, this might be a good indication of how you might enjoy it.

She is not alienating them; they are threatened and jealous by her success. And yes, Bree was indeed cold in her approach with Lynette but that is a trait of her character. Remember how roughly she told Gaby that she was not invited to that party in this season or how unsubtly criticized Danielle’s parenting methods? She means no harm or malice (most of the times), it’s just the way she deals with various situations.
MadonnasManOne wrote: Lynette was right, even though she was drunk, but, when Lynette was the high-powered executive, she didn't look down upon Bree, or any of her friends.
Bree does not look down on her friends either. Lynette finally realized that and that’s why she apologized.
MadonnasManOne wrote:I'm very proud of Lynette. Even though she is jealous of Bree's success, she's willing to stand beside Bree, and be there for her.
Me too! Gotta love Lynette. She is the character with the least flaws in her personality in my opinion.

Orson should have not emotionally blackmailed Bree and Bree should not have yield. He should have respected her choices as a businesswoman, and not “punishing” her until he gets his way.

It did occur to me that Mike could be that object of Dave’s revenge but then it would be too easy. There would not be a twist near the end of the season that usually is. Dave wants Mike close to him probably because Mike might have information about the person Dave wants to avenge. What do you think?

Completely agree!

Hopefully not in a romantic level (meaning trying to break them apart i.e. falling for Carlos etc)

It’ll be one of her sons obviously. If it was her husband they wouldn’t have said “one of the men in Lynette's life”.

Didn’t Edie set on fire Susan’s house in Season 2? A fire themed catastrophe seems a little repetitive to me. Were there any other disaster-themed big episodes besides the ones with the hurricane and the shooting in the supermarket?

I was thinking about that last weekend. The only really bad thing she's ever done is take her kids' ADD medication. Besides that, most of her flaws are pretty normal. Everyone else has committed serious crimes at one point or another, even if they were accidental or deserved.

And I agree with you on Bree (she's my favorite of the four, btw) and I think people just assumed she was cold when she wasn't meaning to be. I also think it was kind of cruel for everyone to make her feel bad about making reasonable, responsible decisions. It's her company, not Orson's. It's her book, not Lynette's. Very silly, imo. I can understand the hurt feelings, but acting on them is another thing.

Those are just my feelings on the episode, and they are not wrong, because they are what I felt watching the show.

I disagree that Bree wasn't being cold. She was, and she knew it. Yes, she may have her reasons, but, that doesn't mean she wasn't being cold. In fact, she realized it, and finally opened up in the end. She also decided to let Orson be her business partner. I am glad she did. It shows that she's not only thinking of herself in this whole business.

Great episode! I'm really liking the direction this show is going in. The 5 year jump has really kept the show interesting, and it's much better than I expected. I LOVED seeing the flashbacks, especially why Bree and Katherine ended up going into business together.

I really dislike Dave. It drives me crazy that he's so annoyingly nice, and has everyone fooled, with the exception of Mrs. McCluskey, who he's now trying to get rid of. I hope she comes back and uncovers his secret, without her life being sacrificed.

Last night's episode was so-so (again). I thought the pacing was rather bad actually. The flashbacks certainly weren't as interesting as I expected, but okay.

Tom, of course, is pissing me off. And I would've expected better of McClusky. Was it just me or did Dave look like he was almost (sincerely) crying when he talked to her in the ambulance? Strange. I just hope his mystery doesn't turn out the way I'm thinking it will--because that'll be the second season in the row where the mystery's dull for me.

On a side-note, Susan's really come back interesting (to me at least). Her flashback scene with Mike was depressing.

Anyway, hope the next episodes pick up a bit.

What are you thinking? Could it be that the man (at leaast now we are sure that it is a man) whom Dave wants to avenge is Mike? It could be especially if they are planning on getting back together Mike and Susan. You know after the near-death adventure with Dave they will realized that they still love each other and get back together or something like it. I defintely think they are going to get back sooner or later. It was even implied in this episode where Susan wanted another chance in the flashback. What do you guys think?

A new episode airs tonight, at 9/8 Central! Here is the summary:

There's Always a Woman

* Series Episode: 93
* Season: 5
* Episode: 6
* First Aired: 11/2/2008
* Prod Code: 506

Gaby is over the moon when Carlos' client makes them an offer they can't refuse, but a startling discovery leaves her second guessing. Lynette grows suspicious that Tom is cheating on her. After breaking up with Jackson, Susan tries to surprise him, only to find the surprise is on her. Meanwhile, the bond between Bree and Katherine grows. Finally, Mrs. McCluskey enlists the help of her sister Roberta (guest star Lily Tomlin) to dig up dirt on Dave.

I am so excited to see Lily Tomlin playing Mrs. McCluskey's sister! I can't wait!

Well, now, that was interesting.

Is it just me, or did Edie look hot as hell in that little orange/red number she was wearing? WOW!

I love Karen! She's such a sneak! I believe Karen can outsmart Dave, even on her worst day!

LOFL! Karen knocking off a beer with her sister, while she's in a hospital bed! LOVE IT!

OH MY GOD! The scene with Susan stripping down, thinking she's going to get into the shower with Jackson, only to find another woman in there! The reaction from the other woman was freaking hilarious! Susan deserved to get squirted with that shampoo! Freaking HILARIOUS! That has to be one of the best scenes of this entire series!!!

The wheels are in motion for some major drama. Carlos and Gabby are being set-up by the very manipulative Virginia Hildebrand (played very well by Frances Conroy). Lynette believes Tom is cheating on her with Anne Schilling, who turns out to be having an affair with Porter! Finally, we learn the motivation behind Dave's desire for revenge. Now, to find out if it is Mike or Orson, both of whom have been to prison. This season is turning out quite nicely.

Last night's was a great episode. All the storylines were interesting and (yay) Katherine finally got something to do. Can't wait to see the fight between Lynette and the seductress. We don't get to see Lynette go into ass-kick mode often enough. Also, I like the storyline that seems to be evolving with Gabrielle and Carlos; a rich lady could do some damage if she got pissed. And it's nice to see Orson and Bree back to normal.

Edit: I forgot about Susan--yeah, I really liked her tonight. I can't believe she got back with Jackson though. If he can jump in another relationship the same night they broke it off, he obviously doesn't have much sincerity. Also, does anyone think it's strange that, following the episode where Lynette acts as a girl online, Porter starts to date an older woman? :oops:
What are you thinking? Could it be that the man (at leaast now we are sure that it is a man) whom Dave wants to avenge is Mike? Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm expecting them to use the mystery as a way to get our star-crossed lovers back together (I'm kind of bored with them though, and Jackson's the first guy that actually gives a likable alternate for Susan, imo). Of course, I could be wrong. And the hint about his brother being killed in prison (given tonight) doesn't help too much, as Orson, Carlos and Mike have all been to jail. I've also heard, and this would be kind of interesting though unlikely, is that many people think Dave could be connected to Bree, considering she let George Williams die; that is, of course, if we can assume Dave was lying about his brother dying in prison. But, like I said, unlikely, though Bree has been in the center of the action in every season but the first.
