Cartoon Network seems to be influenced by Disney XD:

I really don't know what to think about Aaron Stone at this point. When I first heard the title mentioned, it sounded like it might actually be good (and plus the fact that the same guy behind The Famous Jett Jackson worked on this gave me some hope, as that's one of the only live-action Disney shows I enjoyed). But now it seems a bit generic: unknown person with alternate, famous identity. Now there's something new. It really just depends on the actors at this point, because the plot sounds a bit dull. But, then, I'm not exactly the audience they're playing for.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"

There was a commercial with the show line-up for the new Disney XD channel and they're reruning Even Stevens and Phil of the Future!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not too excited about the new animated shows.
The clips from Phineas and Ferb look like they have a new look or something.
"Aaron Stone" looks like fun, but yeah, I definitely thought of "The Famous Jett Jackson" when I saw the previews for it. It also reminds me of that UPN show "Jake 2.0" a little bit. Not in exact storyline, but just the type of show it's going to be.

I did a search and couldn't find any topics about Disney's new channel that is taking over Toon Disney in 16 days. I'm excited about it and plan to watch the switch happen at midnight on February 13th.
The premier episode of Aaron Stone is available for free on iTunes, but its not advertised. If you go to the TV Shows page and click the drop down bar for all networks, click DisneyXD and then click on Aaron Stone. I really liked the first episode and was surprised to see the emotional element of the show. I assumed it was just going to be a lot of cool action with no heart.
The website is up as well. http://www.disneyxd.com
8 new shows will premier with the channel. They are:
Aaron Stone
Hero and Not
I'm with the Band
Jimmy Two Shoes
Kid Knievel
Kid vs. Kat
RoboDz
Zeke and Luther
7 Disney Channel shows will jump to the new network as well:
American Dragon: Jake Long
The Emperor's New School
Even Stevens
Phil of the Future
Phineas and Ferb
The Replacements
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody
3 of Toon Disney's Jetix shows will continue on the new network:
Monster Buster Club
Pucca
Yin-Yang-Yo
6 superhero shows currently playing on Toon Disney will also remain:
Batman
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man
Spider-Man
Superman
X-Men
And the new Spiderman series, The Spectacular Spider-Man, will switch networks from The CW's Saturday morning block to DisneyXD.

Granted I haven't read the past four pages, so maybe this was discussed, but I'm wondering how this will affect the current Disney Channel. Will it become even more girly? Will they bring back Lizzie McGuire, the Torkelsons, Flash Forward, and lord knows what else to make it Disney's girl-channel? Will it get a name change too? Disney YD or something? And what's the deal about XD not being on regular cable while the girl channel is? If you have boys, you have to pay more to get their Disney Channel? Or will Disney XD turn up on basic cable too? This is all kinda confusing... Plus, it leaves us without any basic Disney Channel at all... I mean, whether they bring old shows back or not, surely the Disney Channel is going to become more girl-focused than ever. Are they taking Emperor's New School off? If so, that totally sucks!
And I'm wondering, which version of Batman do they show on Toon Disney/Disney XD? Is it the '90's show? If it is, I don't really care because I have that whole show on DVD, but I'm surprised WB lets Disney use stuff like that when they could run it on their own networks.

I'm a huge Torkelsons fan as well. I really wish both seasons (Torkelsons and Almost Home) would be released on DVD.
I haven't heard anything about the current Disney Channel lineup changing to be more girly, but Disney has said that Disney Channel heavily caters to girls interests and will continue to do so.
As for Toon Disney (and soon to be Disney XD) not being part of basic cable, I think that all depends on where you live and who your cable provider is. Where I live in Wisconsin, it costs extra, but when I lived in Florida, it was included.

I was never a Torkelsons fan myself, but I realize it seems to have a big fanbase... It WOULD fit in well if Disney Channel went all girly. I just feel like it will probably get even more girly if they are moving the shows with male main characters to XD (and adding new girl-star shows like Sunny with a Chance). And if it DOES get more girly, they really shouldn't just call it Disney Channel, implying that Disney is initially for girls... I don't know, I think the whole segregation of the sexes is just more of this very bad trend on TV lately to separate everyone in as many ways possible just so the advertisers can hit their targets better. It divides families, totally the opposite of what Walt Disney was originally trying to do (not to mention the selling point of the original Disney Channel)!

I don't think it's necessarily segregation of the sexes. Disney Channel isn't becoming any more feminine than it already is. What happened was market research showed that Disney Channel was very popular with girls, but were missing their mark with boys. They've been trying to appeal to the majority of both for years with shows targeted more towards girls (Lizzie McGuire, Hannah Montana, That's So Raven), shows targeted more towards boys (The Famous Jett Jackson, American Dragon: Jake Long, Phil of the Future), and shows that should appeal to both (Even Stevens, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Phineas and Ferb, Kim Possible).
I think the odd mix of programming blocks on Disney Channel are what have caused it to not hit its mark with boys. If they would air the more masculine shows in one programming block, it would have been easier for boys to decide to watch Disney Channel at those times. What they are doing instead is creating a whole network that appeals more to boy sensibilities. As far as I've heard, the Disney Channel shows that will be played on DisneyXD that currently also air on Disney Channel won't be removed from the original network, but will get double the amount of air time.
I should clarify that I don't feel that DisneyXD is just for boys and Disney Channel is just for girls. As always, Disney is providing entertainment for everyone.

Disney XD will launch with the premiere of "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe"
Wonder why Disney Channel itself won't air it.......

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.
