Disney soundtracks: What do you have? Are some discontinued?

TERRIFFIC CDS!!! I love these! If anyone loves classical music and Disney music or just wants to hear a more unique spin to Disney tunes (opposite Disney Mania), I HIGHLY recommend these albums.

If you're so much into the "classic" interpretation, you should sure try out When you wish upon a star - Barbara Hendricks sings Disney.

Recently I've downloaded the soundtrack of Enchanted from itunes, still have to burn in on CD. But whenever I look for other, more older Disney soundtracks on Itunes they seem to be available only in French!

The style of singing is not exactly my cup of tea, but it still is very beautiful and the orchestrations are fantastic!

I have music from just about all the animated or partly animated movies, including the sequels (not "Saludos Amigos" & "Pooh's Grand Adventure", though- I still need to work on those). Some of the music I have from CDs, and some I have done DVD audio rips for.

For anyone who has the soundtrack for "The Great Mouse Detective", is there any talking in the songs? The music in the film is some of my favorite Disney music, but I don't have the OOP soundtrack CD, and I have made audio rips of the songs, and they all have talking in them(except for the reprise of "Goodbye So Soon") ("Let Me Be Good to You" even has talking over the singing!!! ). I'd think about shelling out the money for an OOP soundtrack if I knew that there was no talking in the songs. On YouTube, a couple people have made videos using the song "The World's Greatest Criminal Mind" but with different video, so they must've gotten it from the soundtrack, and there is talking in the song...which is making me think that the soundtrack must have all the talking in it....I like how in the Sing Along Songs version of the song, it doesn't have all the talking...it also doesn't have all the lyrics, either, though (I don't recall it mentioning the drowned widows & orphans..).

Anyhoo, I'm completely babbling, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes Amy, there is talking in the song "World's Greatest Criminal Mind", but that is the only track with talking. All other tracks are music only.

Ugh, why couldn't they have edited the talking out? As much as I like Ratigan and Bartholomew and Felicia, I really could do without their section in the middle...ugh. Yay about the other 2 songs being dialogue-free.

If I can get the soundtrack at a cheapish price, I'll go ahead.

The Sing Along Songs version removes the talking
I can get you a rip of that if you want. (It's even on the GMD DVD)

It may be possible to mess with the 5.1 track to remove the talking over those songs. I made quite a few "instrumentals" of Disney songs... the 5.1s are all set up so that the talking and song vocals are in the center track and the music is on the other 4. If there's talking and singing at the same time it might not be possible, but talking over instrumental music should be doable.

First off, I just realized that I wrote "Thanks, you two" twice in my previous post, and I used "too" instead of "two" on one of them... lol

And, thank you so much for the offer, drfsupercenter! After trying all morning, I finally managed to edit the talking out of "The World's Greatest Criminal Mind". I just hope that I don't get sick of the song!

And, someone is helping me get dialogue-free versions of the other 2 songs.

Does The Sword In The Stone have a soundtrack?

Yep! "Sword in the Stone" does have a soundtrack, but it does have 6 songs on that album. I do have it with "The Prince and the Pauper" since I got it at a flea market last year.

NOTE: All of these videos in 5 parts are taken from my Aiptek IS-DV digital camcorder, because it's not the best quality ever made. The picture was dull when I filmed it.

And here is more of Disney cassettes that I recorded off of MP3, thanks to blog contributors like DavesWorld56, bigbirdfan, hauntdmansn and others for the links to all the downloads on such blogs like "Children's Music & More", "The Man Village", "Disney Songtape", "Way Out Junk" and a few others. Instead of putting it on my iPod or burning it on a CD, I taped the old album from MP3 onto an old stock cassette tapes which I got at a flea market a while back. All of these old stock cassettes that has the Disneyland albums are mine. Enjoy!

I'll do some more updates of my Disney cassettes very soon. I tried to record it on a normal bias tape, so I decided to record it on a high bias (Cr02 - chrome) cassette tape to make it sound better.

I know you can still buy them from Amazon, however they are a bit pricey. But you can probably find a fairly nice used or new copy from one of their outside sellers for about 20 each. That's how I managed to get mine.

I have most of the soundtracks from the Disney movies of the 90s. Including the original Aladdin soundtrack before it was censored

I have the original release of the Aladdin Soundtrack that includes the line in the opening song, "Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face/ It's barbaric, but hey, it's home!"

Of course we all know that was changed to the more palatable, "Where it's flat and immense and the heat is intense..." dribble.
