I'm back from my trip!!! The Disney Cruise was everything I expected and more!!! Although the first night the sea was a little rough!! After getting on land on Sunday May 27th, we went to Magic Kingdom on monday, Animal Kingdom on Wednesday and to Epcot/Disney-MGM Studios on Friday!!! I got the see the Laugh Floor at MK and was picked up by the monster of ceremonies for a couple of jokes. I also ran the new Three Caballeros ride at the Mexico Pavillion at Epcot!!! It was great!!! Well my family and I had a great vacation an now I'm looking forward to our next vacation: Disneyland '08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. Sorry for my lack of communication but aside from my Palm Treo internet and email connection I wasn't able to get to a computer and enter the site!!!

They asked me where I was from and they improvised the national anthem of Puerto Rico!!! It was great!!! Also I was picked in the Festival of the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom to imitate a wild hog sound!!!

That's not the joke I was thinking of...I guess there are different jokes in some different shows. That's really cool that you got picked for 2 different attractions! :)

Oh my God, Im so jealouse! I wanna go to WDW with you guys!! That sounds like fun!! Unfortunately I live in Southern California and theres no way my funds can get me to Florida let alone Disney World haha.

Perhaps since I'm here in SoCal I could plan a UD get together at Disneyland or Disney California Adventure, that would be fun.

Anyways make sure when you guys go, take lots of photos! :)

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm back in NJ for good. The program didn't agree with me*, so if there are gonna be any more UD Reunions, I won't be able to partake in them.

Escapay

*Long story, not one I really want to share. Let's just say you gotta look out for yourself at all times, even if it means compromising your own morals.

Sorry to hear that Escapay, but from the posts I've read and conversations we've had since you first started there, I can tell you had a great ride while it lasted! As you know from the "Next Generation" finale, all good things... You've been able to see Disney inside and out now, and you get to return to the leisure side of tourism. Hopefully you can get yourself an annual pass! Even if the "see if I can spot Escapay at a vendor cart" game will no longer be available for play, we can all take satisfaction in knowing that one of UD's most prominent members helped to spread the magic for so long!

Oh, and happy birthday!

I'm sad to hear you are gone, Escapay. I was looking forward to hanging out with you more, but I understand. I wouldn't stay here if I was having a miserable time. I hope that you have a great summer.

Aw, I'm sorry you had a bad time in the college program this year Escapay. I was looking forward to meeting you in September, but I guess the good news is that I live alot closer to New Jersey then I do to WDW, so maybe we'll get a chance to hang out one day after all!

On a completely unrelated note, there's still 16 days left if you want to book a Disney trip for September with free dining

Also, Happy Birthday! When is your brithday anyhow? I'm just jumping on the bandwagon :D

That really stinks, Escapay- I'm sorry to hear that. At least you had the CP experience for a few years and got to have fun at WDW...and, I'm glad I at least got to meet you.

As Aaron said, the next time you come, you can be on vacation and have fun the WHOLE time! :)

Well, I've had a few days to cool down from my last post which was cryptic and didn't say much. But I figured since I was free of the program, I could talk about whatever the hell I'd want to. After all, I'm no longer legally bound to the company to keep mum about certain things.

Still, I don't want to encourage anyone to form more ill will towards Disney than there already is. Even though their College Program is a Slave Labor Operation in disguise, it's done wonders for me in the past concerning guest interaction, self-esteem, and personality issues.

But I will say that this year, within the span of only two weeks, I've begrudgingly turned away completely from the College Program. It's nice work if you can get it, but ultimately a soul-stealing life-altering money-grubbing sham.

I didn't have a bad time on the program. It was phenomenal this year. It's just that I became a victim of circumstance and it's all due to shitty management and their decision that rather than keep morale up for its castmembers, they'll scare them into following the rules by firing anyone for the smallest of infractions.

I will say, though, that leaving the Program was NOT MY CHOICE at all. You can thank the Magic Kingdom OutDoor Foods Management Team and the Magic Kingdom Labor Office for my premature exit from the Mouse House. I made a small infraction, and because of it, I lost out on a summer job and the managers lost out on a seasoned castmember who could have helped new castmembers this summer.

I have a feeling that I'm gonna only last a week, and I'm not just saying that cuz I read this....

Would it hurt if I ask what small infraction it was that you got booted for? by PM?

Well, it's a minor thing that's not PM-necessary, and can be great advice for current/future CP's:

Don't say "dammit" onstage. Not even in a hushed-so-that-guests-can't-hear-it tone. Just stick to your saccharine sweetness and let guests and management walk all over you. It's the best way to survive. When you're a CP, you don't have a brain. You just have a purpose, you do that purpose, and you do it with a smile. Nothing more, nothing less. I hope to God my managers have a magical day...

That just made my day magical. Great advice. That's exactly how I feel someday.

Yikes, sorry to hear about that Escapay!

I am still going down on Aug. 13th and would like to meet up with anyone if they are still in the program and interested. Sorry I haven't been on the thread or boards much, been working on finishing up school.

I'm interested! YAY! I'll have a lot more free time, since my place of internship has folded...whenever you need someone to hang out with at WDW, let me know! :)

Sweet! I’ll let you know when I get down there. It’s hard to imagine that I’m going down in about 50 days! It seems like just yesterday I got my acceptance letter and I was thinking how on earth am I am going to survive until I make it down there.
