Post by Jay »

Since there is an Overrated characters thread I thought we could discuss the underrated Disney characters. Who do you think are the underrated Disney characters.

dopey and grumpy aren't completely under rated, they have some merchandise; but they can live up to a whole line of products.

I think Esmereda, Meg and Elionway are underrated. With the exception of Aladdin and Peter Pan all the male leads are underrated. The characters from The Great Mouse Detective, The Fox and the Hound, The Rescures, Robin Hood and The Aristocrats are underrated. Lady Tremaine is very underrated. Also I always thought Flotsam and Jetsam were cool and underrated. So is The Wicked Queen's pet crow.

Well since Im bored...and have nothing better to think of...I thought of another really underrated character. Wow my brain is turning into mush.

Scuttle from The Little Mermaid

You know...If he didnt happen to be flying around and catch Vanessa/Ursula singing. Ariel and friends would have never found out that THE PRINCE IS MARRYING THE SEA WITCH IN DISGUISE! And Ursula's plan would have went A okay. Scary thought isnt it. Thank God for watching mirrors and finding out hidden identities.

So technically Scuttle saves the day. Who cares about Prince Eric lol.

Personally, I think that Rafiki from the Lion King is underated. I also think in terms of merchandise, most of the disney villains are underrated.

I agree, I wish you could buy more villain stuff, they are my favorite.

I just watched Peter Pan today, and I kinda feel Michael is underrated. He's so cute.

Talking of Peter Pan, when all is said and done, I feel Tiger Lily is the underrated one.

I have to agree that Herc and Tarzan, and the other male leads (besides Aladdin and Peter), are underrated. Not only that, but in many cases, their films are underrated.

Seriously, I can't believe there is not word on a 2 disc Special Edition of "Hercules" yet - something that is long overdue now.

Everytime I feel down, I come to UD in hope that this is the time where we'll learn about 2-discs Herc. I don't even have a VHS to listen to and I just hate the Gold collection banner. Somebody said it was taken off the "animated classics" list on whatever-official-website, though, and that usually means another edition could be in the works.

I would really love for Meg to get some more recognition, as she really deserved it. She had amazing aniamtion, personality and voice. Disney should really put her out there more.

Yay! Someone shares my view of Meg! But, you know there was this whole debate on whether she is a Princess or not? Well, on her doll box I found on the web, the packaging of the Barbie doll box clearly states 'Pricness'! Found that interesting....!

I agree with Aladdin and AtlanticaUndertheSea,

Meg is lovely I have no clue why she isn't popular, she's got more guts than all the six princesses added together.

I also think Madame Mim and the Siamese twins are some of the most underrated baddies, I find them very adorable and hilarious even though they're a little retarded.
