I understand what you're saying. But I hope you have some sort of bright side to look on. Just think about me... My parents used to beat me (I was literally a nightmare when I was a kid!). And my family are almost as close now as we've ever been before (my Brother and I don't even fight anymore). You sort of have to be responsible for your entire notion of happiness. But it still really sucks that you wouldn't get anything for Christmas. I'd say: guilt your friends into sending you late Christmas gifts via mail, and try to treat yourself to something special. Do something for yourself that you don't normally do. If you can't make yourself feel better, you're in trouble. But - family are all about trials and tribulations. They put up with a little from you, and you put up with a ton from them. At least, that applies to me. And remember my motto... If I can do it - anyone in the entire world can do it. Unless they have no arms and legs. Or are blind and deaf at the same time. Just think: you could be blind and deaf with no arms or legs.xxhplinkxx wrote:Cause I dont like my family.

By the way, since I want to cheer you up, this is an opportune moment for me to say that you look friggin awesome as captain Jack Sparrow!

And Lazario, I can kinda relate to how you described your childhood. (Its not easy being the gay guy in the family

Thanks for the cheering up guys

"Hip hop frightens you, doesn't it....Hmmm...Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate. Hate leads to endlessly posting threads about stupid white people. Hmmmmm....."
I love Siren!
One of my Current Mottos is really, to remember that other people can't always take care of you. That you have to take care of yourself, because no matter how much it seems like your friends understand you, we all know that we can't always use other people to make us feel better. And this, of course, means that we are personally responsible for our own self-esteem. That when we feel bad, about anything, we aren't always able to go have a good time with friends. So we need to be our own 1-person support groups. Just so those dark hours alone that we all need to spend to be fully operational human beings, don't last too long.xxhplinkxx wrote:And Lazario, I can kinda relate to how you described your childhood. (Its not easy being the gay guy in the family) And I also know exactly what you mean about trying to look on the bright side of things, its just been hard lately since my support crew, my friends, are so far away this christmas. But, I've been told by my best friend that he'll be coming up this weekend, so hopefully he and I can go to Islands of Adventure together! Thanks for the cheering up guys
And didn't you tell us you aren't "Out" to your family? Perhaps that is helping to cause some of that friction between you and your family. That is certainly one of the reasons I had so much trouble with my family. In fact I still resent the fact that my extremely insensitive (way more than I am- ha ha) Father, Mother, and Brother are somehow Instantly granted more freedoms, liberties, and rights than I am. But, they probably need more than I do. They each certainly have more problems (Brother's a Full-Blown alcoholic with 1 jail sentence under his belt, Father has Diabetes, is Problematically Overweight and suffers from unbelievable joint pain, and my Mother suffers from a wide range of addictive behaviors she's trying desperately to quit while all her friends drink hard and smoke, not to mention she also can't breathe without the aid of an inhaler). And I would like to think it's because my 1 real problem comes from Insensitive, Evil, Intolerant people in the world. But no one can take away all the great things that I have inside my personality (the one you all don't know about -

Well, me and my mom went out to stores today for the whole "Day After Christmas" sales, and so my mom got me more stuff. (Which she told me to consider more Christmas presents) So, I also got:
A Pirates of the Caribbean calandar
Japanese themed Christmas cards (to send out next year)
Yankee candle holder with a little girl and a walrus fishing (which is adorable!)
and at Target, we found a ton of DVD's that were kind of bad/unknown movies and shorts for (get this) 50 cents. AND to top that off, we found SEVERAL DVD's that had 10 classic cartoon shorts on them (many very old, and black/white), including Woody Woodpecker, Casper, Betty Boop, Oswald Rabbit (no, not a typo), Felix the cat, Popeye, Krazy Kat, and others! Each DVD had 10 shorts, each with varying ages (black and white as well as color) as well as different "stars". Each being only $.50!!! So, naturally my mom and I picked up three different ones entitled: "Pee Wee Cartoons", "Comic-Strip Favorites", and "Cartoon Superstars." (I believe there were one or two others, but my mom put her foot down at 3). Oh, and in case you're interested, they're manufactured by "PC Treasures Inc." Does anyone else know about these DVD's or own them!? A large majority of them aren't restored at all, and have a lot of artifacts and such, but seriously who can complain for only 50 cents?!

From my dad:
King's Quest VII: The Princeless Bride (made for XP since my copy from 1995 doesn't play on my current computers)
Chicken Run
Ice Age
Rock-a-Doodle
The Animated Movie Guide (book)
Disney Scene It?
2006 Walt Disney Collector's Society membership (I wanted the Ariel figurine)
My dad said he's going to buy me this glass case from IKEA that I asked for in January. But for now all of my Disney figurines and snowglobes will have to remain in their boxes, off display...
From my mom:
Disney A-to-Z Encyclopedia (the recent edition)
The Animated Movie Guide*
A top that was too small from Abercrombie & Fitch*
A lace cami from A&F
Blue ballet flats from Nordstrom's*
A giant drawing pad
Who's Who in Animated Movies and Cartoons (book)
* = stuff I exchanged for:
Monster House
2 lace camis from A&F
A pretty cute pair of shoes from Nordstrom's
I'm pretty happy about my gifts. My favorite one would definitely be the WDCC membership. I also like the dvds because now I own 77 animated movies on dvd (not including double dips or compilations of shorts).

One more thing I remembered. I got one new Hallmark ornament as a gift also (Well, new to me): Batman on The Batcycle. It's a pretty cool one. I usually get a ton of Hallmark ornaments, which I collect ravenously, because my mom gets them in the after Christmas sales and gives them to me the following year, ha. However, she likes to wait for 75 percent off, some I'm pretty lucky if I get one of the REALLY cool ones. Still, I've got a nice collection of Disney and Star Wars ones, and misc. other pop-culture characters. This year though, just the Batcycle. Though, I think I got a couple of other ones from "2005" myself at the after Christmas sales last year. Really hope to get that one of Mickey and Minnie watching the Wonderful World of Disney someday! And the Mickey Mouse Club one.
I saw those at 50 cents and probably should have picked up a couple. It adds up though, ha, when you're on as tight a budget as I am. But I wish I'd waited to get the Long John Silver DVD. I paid full price a month ago! Ha. One dollar! One year, they had a lot of old, public domain horror films that went down to a quarter! Actually, these might too, if you go in on the right day!brotherbear wrote: and at Target, we found a ton of DVD's that were kind of bad/unknown movies and shorts for (get this) 50 cents. So, being that it's not the New Year yet, anything that my parents buy me (up until then) is still considered in their eyes as Christmas presents, I also got...
This "Snow Glow" body glitter stuff from Bath and Body Works
The CD for Fantasia (FINALLY!!)
Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest 2-Disk CE (Ok, so my parent's didn't actually buy it for me, but the thing is they ALLOWED me to buy it, which was a big deal...considering they wanted me to wait until its on sale next year for like $10...which I dont think will happen with the 2-Disk version, and just pay the $20 for it).
And I think that sums up my Christmas gifts. That is, until next year....
