I'd love that but I wouldn't hold my breath. I do have that version on a seperate disc, though. Also, this was included in non-US releases.Big Disney Fan wrote:I hope they include the other version of THREE LITTLE PIGS (1933). You know, the one where the wolf dresses up as a Jewish peddler instead of a Fuller Brushman. Wouldn't that be interesting?

A necessity, since some things are greater than others, perhaps?Class316 wrote:Some are crapper than others.
I've been very happy with the Treasures all in all - not all of them are "perfect", and not all of them are really "essential", but still worthwhile to say the least, in my opinion.
And I didn't grow up with that TV stuff either - I'm too young and from the wrong part of the world, I guess.
Disney never take money from me for "crap", because I don't buy the titles that I don't want. A subtle and cunning stratagem on my behalf, I'm sure you'll agree.Class316 wrote:I wish there were more Donald. I guess they want to save for the next wave and take more money from us by giving us good stuff + crap
Anyway, from where I'm sitting, this coming Wave is looking particularly tasty - I've gone for three out of the four titles on offer this year.
"I hope we never lose sight of one thing - that this was all started by a little girl and a cat. And a rabbit."
I wish I had as much control as you do. Unfortunately I'm an obssesive collector. Especially when it comes to series. I just have to have them all. My collection would not be complete without every WDT tin in it.MK Sharp wrote: Disney never take money from me for "crap", because I don't buy the titles that I don't want. I watched the half hour reruns of the original Mickey Mouse Club when I was growing up in the 70s. Therefore, I'm looking forward to the Hardy Boys Treasure! It was probably because of those serials that I started reading "The Hardy Boys" books in elementary school.Class316 wrote:Some are crapper than others. Like the TV series one from the last wave was not complete. Also, Hardy Boys is kinda, I dunno not so great.
While I didn't remember "Spin and Marty," I still was glad to get that Treasure volume last year because of my appreciation of the Mickey Mouse Club, plus my being a fan of Walt's live action endeavors.
My mom had talked up "Swamp Fox," and I had never heard of "Elfego Baca." With her excitement, plus the Walt-Live-Action factor, I was eager to get that Treasure combination, too. I was happy with all of last year's live action Treasures -- I wish we could get the balance of SW and EB episodes (I'd even buy a set of "The Saga of Andy Burnett" -- something I've only read about in the last year or two.)!
As monumental as they are, Disney is more than Mickey Mouse, Mary Poppins, and Ariel. I'm thankful that The Disney Co. has released Davy Crockett, The Mickey Mouse Club, some Legendary Heroes, Alice Comedies, etc. There are people out here that appreciate the vast Disney library.
We're all free to buy, or ignore, any given Disney DVD release, but if 'crap' could be used as an adjective for anything Disney-related, let's please use it to describe audio/video quality, instead of assigning like terms to titles we've not been exposed to.

I'll also buy all of the Treasures, although I won't buy every other Disney DVD - very far from it, in fact.Ktrek wrote:I wish I had as much control as you do. I don't quite understand why some talk about "crap" in the WDT series. Not everything is as important and essential as a complete set of Disney's classic shorts, but there's still more worthwhile material there, IMO. Sometimes I wonder how many limit themselves to whatever they "grew up with"... I see much more magic in the Treasures than in most other Disney material.
I hear you Lars. I don't buy everything Disney puts out either. I do collect all the WDT and now I will collect the Legacy series. I also collect all their animated films and the early live action material from the late 50 and 60s. I don't care at all for all the modern Tween stuff Disney does. I think it has really lowered the quality of what they put out.Lars Vermundsberget wrote:Ktrek wrote:

Oh, I remember seeing Andy Burnett on the Disney Channel in the last period of Vault Disney (before it was gone forever!)! Great stuff! I love those early Disney live-action serials! I'm a huge fan of the Swamp Fox! LOVE the American Revolution subject and Leslie Nielson, so that is a particular fave of mine! I was VERY happy that it got a DVD release, but I was VERY disappointed that the set was incomplete! I mean, there are only 8 episodes of Swamp Fox, I believe! They could easily have focused the set on him or something. I sincerely wish they would continue the Legendary Heroes title with further volumes, starting with a set to complete Baca and Swamp Fox. In general, I LOVE the Treasures collection. It's the one DVD collection I have made a point to keep up with (money being tight at the moment, it's the only one I can, though I try to keep up with some others). However, I am sometimes disappointed in the way they give us stuff. For example, The Mickey Mouse Club really needs to be released in season sets or something. I don't think a 5 episode Treasures set was a good idea. Something like that should get its own release, like any other TV series, rather than being part of the Treasures series. I can understand being selective with the anthology series (many episodes just presented Disney big screen features on television), though I am sincerely hoping for many more to be released, like several volumes on Ludwig Von Drake (with the bonus of the Moby Duck episode) for example.Mouseketodd wrote: While I didn't remember "Spin and Marty," I still was glad to get that Treasure volume last year because of my appreciation of the Mickey Mouse Club, plus my being a fan of Walt's live action endeavors.

When holiday rush crunch hits, it's pretty much- take a number when it comes to ordering anything from reputable sites. Because the treasures aren't due out yet (it's still a pre-order) The shipping dates run according to batch, date, and priority. This same thing happend to me last year, I waited until December to pre-order the treasures, after cancelling an order I had made in October (simply to free up some financial space on my account) and I had to wait longer if I had simply kept my first pre-order.
On a good note, I got a knock on the door Christmas Eve from the man in Brown.
good luck

I can't wait to see the Hardy Boys again! I also watched the reruns growing up in the 70s, and "Applegate's Treasure" was a favorite. I couldn't wait to see each new installment. We also sang the song that introduced each installment. Anyone else have that tune in their head right now? All I can remember of it now is, "Gold Dubloons and Pieces of Eight, Handed down to Applegate. The chest is still there, but wait! Where are those gold dubloons, and pieces of eight, pieces of eight, pieces of eight!"Mouseketodd wrote:

So the Treasures are coming out on the 19th? Weren't they supposed to come out on the 6th with the Legacy Collection? And was this news ever on the home page? I feel like an idiot because in Disney World, I was very frustrated when shops would have the Legacy collection and not the Treasures and I just spent 5 mins arguing with Best Buy about how these are out now and their records showed that they don't come out until the 19th...

If you shop around on iTunes, do a search for that Applegate Treasure song, and you'll find that you can buy it!!!!!!!!gadgetmobile wrote:I can't wait to see the Hardy Boys again! Your thinking that the Treasures were coming out on the 5th was a very easily made mistake. The Treasures HAD PREVIOUSLY been released the first Tuesday of December. This year the Legacy Collection took the Treasures' release date and the Treasures were delayed two weeks for Dec 19 release.goofystitch wrote:So the Treasures are coming out on the 19th? The 19th is coming up quickly now - only one week from today!! I am much looking forward to them - especially the More Silly Symphonies and Your Host Walt Disney!! I'm not as enthused about Pluto Volume 2 and the Hardy Boys!! Although I will enjoy both, I'm mainly buying the last two to replace my VHS copies with DVD quality.

Well don't feel bad - I did the same thing you did. Despite having read long ago in this thread or somewhere that the WDT was going to be delayed, I had forgotten by the time Dec. 5th came around and I went to Best Buy on the 6th and basically looked all over the place for both the Treasures tins and the TLAs - finally getting a sales person to look up in the computer to see what or where they were. I kept telling him that the WDT had come out the day before.... Basically the TLA series was not in the computer and they had no info to offer me on the WDT release date. Instead of arguing though, I just left the store. The guy helping me didn't have any idea what these were. Then as I left the store, I started to remember that the WDTs weren't coming out on the 5th, so I was glad I didn't give the guy a hard time after all.goofystitch wrote:I feel like an idiot because in Disney World, I was very frustrated when shops would have the Legacy collection and not the Treasures and I just spent 5 mins arguing with Best Buy about how these are out now and their records showed that they don't come out until the 19th...

I've spoken with Disney Home Video twice, and was told both times there would only be 40,000 of each title!!!blaing wrote:Luke, has there been any official news regarding the edition runs for the Treasures, yet?
Think about all of the outlets that sell these: Amazon, DisneyStore.com, The Disney Store, Best Buy, WalMart, DeepDiscountDVD, Borders, etc. I think inventories will be slim....
