OH I hope we get it before then...
We got TLM coverart more than two months in advance...I think I saw it before I left school, which was in May, so...

We got cover art for Bambi and Lady and the Tramp the September before each of their respective releases. Since that's obviously not going to happen with Peter Pan, I think October's a lock-in for the big cover art reveal. The delay is probably due to the last minute switch off of this and 101 Dalmatians. I'm really excited to see the artwork for this since Peter Pan has always lent itself beautifully to posters and covers. I think the image of Peter and Tink found in The Little Mermaid's booklet is from the new cover because I certainly have never seen that image before.

I remember there being lots of discussion about whether it would be 101 Dalmations or The Jungle Book next... but no! Disney throws teh curve ball with Peter Pan!
Thanks to all that offered to help with my Avatar...Starion, RJKD23 and cj!

I would really love to see a cover art with more than just Peter and Tink...that's what disappointed me about the SE release. Let's see a cover art reminicsent of the original VHS release (that's my favorite PP coverart thus far).

:P Hhaw, I'm obviously just kidding. But honestly, I'd love the cover to look something like my horrendous mock-up. Just a bit less busy.

 I thought that was real for a second!!!!! Then I realized how unsatisfied Wendy was!....that and she was on her daughters body. Your cover-art is A LOT more convincing than mine was. :P I guess we'll just have to wait for the real cover art though :(

I was fooled too. Just for a second though. The picture is actually really funny after you look at it for 5+ seconds.

Nice one, Little Merman. lol. I also thought it was real for a second, and then thought that the platinum bars were too small... then noticed Wendy and realized the cover art was from "Return to Neverland." lol. Also, I'm expecting the bars on Pan to be green, like TLM's wer purple and TLK's were gold. Although, that might end up being too much green if the cover art is what little bit is shown on the Disney DVD Rewards pamphlet.

The first draft of the cover has jsut been revealed by UD. What do you think?

Image

I personnally hate it, I think it's horrible! I posted on another thread it was, to me, the worse cover art! I hope they change it!

This make make SO glad to own the exclusive French 2 Disc Special Edition released a few years ago, with a gorgeous digipack artwork lol :D

Image

But of course, this new PE release will have a new movie restoration and new bonus features, so I guess I will be upgrading anyway... Just hope we have a better artwork in France for this new PE  :)

I have to say that I liked it at first glance, but once I looked it over I was pretty disappointed. There should be a gorgeous overhead view of Neverland with a bigger mystical flying ship. I don't think so many of the characters need to be on the cover. It's not horrendous, but I hope they change it!

I don't like the cover either. But since this is a february release, I think there is a chance that the Dutch (and others) cover will be different. Bambi and Lady and the Tramp had different covers.
Disney's musical Tarzan. Coming to Holland 2007.

well i don't think it's so bad!! of course the big face of peter pan seems to be screaming "this movie is peter pan! did you understand, kids?" but that's to be expected from disney. i like the rest of the cover.

Purple?! I don't know what kind of slipcover you got, but, the bar on The Little Mermaid: Platinum Edition is a sea green color.

At any rate, I don't really mind the Peter Pan: Platinum Edition cover. It actually looks pretty good, except that they need to reduce the size of Peter Pan's face. Other than that, not bad.

That's probably the worst Platinum cover to date! I do hope they will change it... Heck, the covers of the previous 2 DVDs (and the French 2-discer too) were better than this!

P.S.: I think they enlarged Tinker Bell by purpose since the Tinker Bell DTV movie is releasing at the same time...

The cover art is far better than Beauty and the Beast, and Snow White and Aladdin's platinum's were. However, I think that Peter Pan is way off model in this cover. I do like the use of the colors though, and I find this cover far more desirable then the one used on the "Special Edition." I think the Limited Issue cover was beautiful. I'm not quite as excited about this release though since the restoration on the Special Edition was already really good. This would be a triple-dip for me, (quintuple dip if you count the VHS's!) but I'll do it anyway...It's PETER PAN! I just wish that Pinocchio would get a sooner release. However, they usually end up starting formats with Pinocchio for some reason, so maybe they are waiting for the HD war to settle down before they start re-releasing the Platinum titles. I'm really curious to see how they could make the DVD of Snow White ANY better.

Did anyone else notice that the cover art says "Disney's Fast Play with Disney's Fast Play" (instead of Disney DVD with Disney's Fastplay) and that it says "2-disc Platinum Edition" on the front and "2-Disc Special Edition" on the spine? It's like they don't even try to make sense anymore...that or the cover art could see a significant change.
