Cool Runnings
The Rocketeer
The Adventures of Huck Finn
The Three Musketeers

Oh, man, I can't believe I forgot "The Adventures of Huck Finn!" It is truly one of my favorite films of all time! I used to watch it A LOT, but it's been a little while I guess. I also really like "Tom and Huck."

I don't really consider stuff like Popeye or Dragonslayer for a list like this, but for the record, I'm a huge fan of the Popeye movie. Dragonslayer is very good too. I DO count Who Framed Roger Rabbit because it is not only half Disney but also includes many Disney toons.

I couldn't find an appropiate thread for this sort of discussion in general, so I figured this one is as good as any. Tonight on Hallmark channel (probably much to Flangy's joy) I saw Happiest Millionaire for the very first time. And I think it's quickly shot up to one of the spots of my favorite Disney live action films/ musicals. It's not specifically a spectacular film, but it's darn good fun. The songs by the Sherman Brothers are great, the sets and scenery all beautifully lavish, and the performances all around were great.

Tommy Steele definitely stole the film for me, and it was just with every scene of him. I'm certainly going to look now into finding more musicals with him in them. I also found great enjoyment in Geraldine Page's performance, probably because there's something about snooty rich women characters I enjoy to watch. And John Davidson's dimples were adorable. :p

I have plans now to go out tomorrow and pick this up on DVD. It's shot up a great leap to becoming one of my fave Disney films.

I've always felt that "Happiest Millionaire" would make an ideal stage musical; I suppose because I've always longed to play Angie... :)

I think that would be a terrific idea. I think it would have the potential to be changed into a well made stage production.

And I think it would be great fun to play John Lawless myself. :p

Here goes with my list, and it will be pretty complete.

My Top Ten Disney Live Action Films:

The Castaway Cowboy
The Last Flight of Noah's Ark
Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier
Davy Crockett and the River Pirates
The Parent Trap (original is the best)
Old Yeller
So Dear To My Heart
Song of the South
The Love Bug
Mary Poppins

And in no particular order:

Blackbeard's Ghost
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
The Light At The Edge of the World
Pollyanna
In Search of the Castaways
Swiss Family Robinson
Johnny Tremain
The Parent Trap (remake)
Herbie Rides Again
Remember the Titans
Glory Road
Treasure Island
The Absent-Minded Professor
Son of Flubber
The Shaggy Dog
The Shaggy D.A.
The Ugly Dachsund
Eight Below
Man of the House
Tom and Huck
The Cat From Outer Space
Pirates of the Caribbean (all three of them)
Freaky Friday (the original is the best)
Honey, I Shrunk The Kids
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

There are a ton of others, but one that I won't watch and never own is the live action "101 Dalmations" because I miss all the wonderful music that the animated version had, and I keep waiting for someone to break into song with "Cruella DeVille" or something like that.

:D
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!
