Spain is having a big number of people voting the fascist party Vox, so far right movements are very high and "popular" in the country right now sadly, back in April a lot of spaniards talked about Asha being a "immigrant" because she wasn't white and didn't looked spanish.

Re: Wish
I think that is going to make good numbers. A princess movie is always accepted by the audience and it's going to be the 100th anniversary movie so they can use that as a factor to attract more audience

They can't delay the movie too much. They had a bad year and they need to earn more money. Dealy the movie means delay the merchandise too and Lost the Christmas season.

Re: Wish
I'm holding on to the hope that the movie doesn't get delayed, animated films doesn't have to use the cast to promote it. They can get very creative with the marketing if they wanted to, after all it is Disney's 100th anniversary.

Re: Wish
This animator hasn't heard anybody talking about the movie being delay. Of course that is up to the executives, but if people around him aren't talking about it, then it's a good sign that the movie won't be delayed.

I don't think all those hairstyles are the same. At least Namaari and Asha are the only two I like, and I don't really think Asha looks like Namaari...
I don't think the movie will be delayed. The 100th anniversary is this year, not next year. Besides, this film would always do better in the Fall area rather than the Spring.

Re: Wish
I too doubt there will be a delay.
What I'm more concerned about is if there will be a Blu-Ray release. I just received word today that Disney is ceasing physical media releases in Australia. That and the sudden decision to can Disney Movie Club in Canada has me concerned. What if Wish doesn't get a DVD/BD release? That is what I am concerned about.

The physical market gives them more money. If they don't release movie on physical they are going to loose an importan ammount of money.JTurner wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2023 12:00 am I too doubt there will be a delay.

I think that they are trusting too much on Disney+ and it's not a good thing. People are not going to the theaters to see Disney 's movies because they put them on the platform very soon. When the movies were released on physical you have to wait around 4 months to buy the movie to see It again. Right know you only have to wait a few months and you can watch It for free on any device.

Re: Wish
The movie won't get delayed, nobody cares about voice actors except when it's huge celebrities in flop movies (like Zendaya in that flop Yeti movie) this is the 100th movie of disney animation, plus a comeback to a classical disney princess story.
Also in each country the movie gets dubbed so Ariana Debose is irrelevant to the marketing.

I'm not worried about Wish. At least for those of us in the U.S., we have a little while longer before physical media dies. But this is all why I've been collecting everything on Blu-ray the last few years.

You know, regarding the merchandise, what I`m mostly excited for are the dolls. I`m very curious about how the Asha dolls are going to look like. I`ll hope that we`ll get a glimpse of them soon.

Re: Wish
Disney won't delay Wish. At least I hope they don't and are smart not to do it. They'll keep it on Thanksgiving.
That film, their big 100th Anniversary finale event film that is paired with Disney's 100th Anniversary short film "Once Upon A Studio," is the only other film of theirs that will be able to save them face at a rough 100th Anniversary for them at the box office with so many underperforming and failing films this year, other than Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 and (when it breaks even at $500M WW thanks to Japan and legs) Pixar's Elemental.
If they delay it, they'd be making a financially fatal mistake for Walt Disney Animation Studios that could make us lose projects like Tiana and could put storytellers and animators at WDAS out of business and we CANNOT let that happen.
That's why I took initiative this week after I saw the news by putting out a video on Tuesday across all social media to Bob Iger and Asad Ayaz where I urged them to keep Wish's theatrical release where it currently is on Thanksgiving (plus also asking them to not delay and not to move it to Disney+ nor do a dual theatrical/Disney+ release), along with sending letters to them, and suggesting to Ariana DeBose that she sue Disney to prevent Wish from being delayed, similar to how Scarlett Johannson's lawsuit against Bob Chapek over the handling of the release of Black Widow saved the MCU from no longer being theatrical, which Shang-Chi also helped save too.
Oh also, three weeks ago, the 2nd trailer was listed, along with a special #Disney100 version of the trailer as well: https://twitter.com/Cryptic4KQual/statu ... 99466?s=20, https://twitter.com/Cryptic4KQual/statu ... 25929?s=20. So, it looks like we might get it soon, maybe with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, since that film and Wish are both coming out in 3D and are in the same Paperman/Spider-Verse style we've seen before in other films. So, we'll see. If not then, we might get it 100 days out from release to mark the 100-day countdown to that movie, when we got that 100-day countdown spot for the live-action adaptation of Disney's The Little Mermaid.

Welcome back, D23!
I wouldn't worry, no way would they delay this one, writer's strike or no. I don't think voice actors make much difference for advertising with animated films, since it's different for general audiences / casuals where they can see somebody's face and be driven by that into theaters.

But even still, we can leave nothing to chance. Which is why it's up to us to ensure this film stays where it is and fight for that now.
Also, apparently, all of the animation work on Wish wraps in 3 days, so depending on how long 3 days is if they do or don't work on weekends, it'll probably be done by the last day of July or first day of August: https://www.instagram.com/p/CvNawaaxUQM ... BiNWFlZA==.
And I took a poll on Reddit last week and they vote that Wish will end its global theatrical run with Tangled-level numbers worldwide ($590-$600M WW): https://www.reddit.com/r/boxoffice/comm ... _6_disney/. So unless it has breakout songs on the level of Let It Go, You're Welcome, Remember Me, or We Don't Talk About Bruno, it might be a hit, but barely be profitable with 3X its budget worldwide.

Re: Wish
600 million is around the level I've always expected for this, too, those were Moana numbers. But it would be nice if it managed to do more than that.
