Dumbo area starting to take shape

No pics of Ariel's area so I guess there hasn't been much to update on yet

There's models and concept art, plus more information about/of the New Fantasyland. Looking great by the day!

It's safe to say that Belle's world (because of its pacing) or Storyboard Circus will open first. WINTER/CHRISTMAS BREAK 2012!!!!The New Fantasyland will open in phases beginning in late 2012.

From DisneyParksBlog:

With all the updates we’ve done on the “royal” side of the Fantasyland expansion – Beast’s Castle, Maurice’s Cottage and Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid – the plans for Storybook Circus seemed to be a bit more mysterious. Until now.
Storybook Circus will be based on our animated film, “Dumbo.” Here, Casey Jr., the famous locomotive from the movie, has rolled into town and brought the grand Storybook Circus with him. The area will be filled with colorful circus tents and nods to the famous film. For example, guests – especially little ones – are welcome to cool down with Casey Jr., who can be found near the train station, getting splashed by playful circus animals.
Just past Casey Jr., guests will encounter big-top circus tents that lead to a “double” version of Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Also, in the tradition of classic air shows, Barnstormer will take on a new look and theme, becoming a spiraling stunt plane built by The Great Goofini.
What do you think? Will you be there when the circus comes to town?

Really no new info but I haven't seen that picture before. I really like how it's closer together now and not some huge space filler which it seemed to be before. Here's some things pointed out from WDWNewsToday:
The large tent is Big Top Souvenirs, we’re not sure what the red Hall of Fame tent in the background is being kept for, maybe Pete’s Silly Sideshow?
-The new yellow tent in the back may be a counter service location, meet and greets, or even something else at this point…
-The Fantasyland Train Station is part of the Casey Jr. Roundhouse building, GREAT THEME!
-A new structure is visible out in the middle of the Barnstormer area, looks like a themed tower of some sort…
-With Timothy not on top of either Dumbo ride, we expect him to show up in audio-animatronics form somewhere in the interactive queue area
-Dumbo will finally have the water feature that is featured at the Disneyland and Disneyland Paris versions of the attraction!
Overall, it looks great! What do you think of the Storybook Circus?

Now all they have to do is spruce up Tokyo's Dumbo ride! Oh, and the water feature is also seen in the Hong Kong version of the ride.WonderlandFever wrote:-With Timothy not on top of either Dumbo ride, we expect him to show up in audio-animatronics form somewhere in the interactive queue area

Apparentely, according to #326, Rapunzel's tower and some buildings related to Rapunzel (The Snuggling Duckling?) are getting build!
It sounds like it's going to be part of the FE. I HOPE IT'S TRUE!!!

the rumor is that the tower is going to replace the skyline that's near Small world, peter pan ride. It would be place there to block the HM view from fantasyland.disneyprincess11 wrote:http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.p ... 38&page=22

That would make sense because this is fantasyland, we're talking about, and the haunted mansion is not Fantasy Land, and it feels out of place.Super Aurora wrote:the rumor is that the tower is going to replace the skyline that's near Small world, peter pan ride. The expansion itself will open in 2012 but even before the changes were made, some things were reportedly scheduled to open in late-2012 and early 2013. Construction has not yet begun on the mine coaster so I wasn't expecting that anytime in the next eighteen months due to its size.
We're not going to Guam, are we?

Perhaps the cottage has but I haven't seen or heard anything about the actual coaster moving into construction. They also will have to remove Snow White's Scary Adventure and move the Dumbo attraction to the new circus area so it's going to be a long time until everything is completed.

Yes, it's the same tree. And it still has the hidden Nautilus carved inside from when it was across the midway, as tribute to the late 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction!
