Yeah, I noticed that last time I saw the movie! :P

I must say, Tink has pretty good taste. I certainly like the new teapot home much better than the old, generic tinker home. She's kind of the "rebel tinker," I think. She cut up her uniform into a cute, stylish dress, and leveled her home for a prettier one that incorporated her love of lost things!

Well, I think some woman named Angela Bartys or something like that played Fawn in the last movie... But I think she only had maybe 2 lines. As for Vidia, I'm pretty sure her voice actor is the same, even though she didn't talk at all in the last one.

"We were going to do eight or ten Tinkerbell features, but studio chief Richard Ross [who replaced Dick Cook] has cut the number of features back.

"The second Tink feature didn't do as well as the studio thought it would. I mean, it did well, but not up to the company's expectations. Maybe it was because it came out the same time as a couple of big theatrical animated features, maybe it was because Dick Cook didn't have different units in the company working hard enogh to build synergy.

"Whatever it was, Ross reduced the number of shows. Now we do features with the four different seasons (we've done two) and then one more after that. A total of five. After that, it's on to the new series of features*. Hopefully most of us will be here to work on them ...

* Which haven't been officially announced yet.

So, they're only doing the 5 that have already been announced!? Well... they had better find a way to link the end of that with Tink's meeting of Peter or something. That's really a shame, though, I was hoping for a long life for this series! I thought that 8-10 would be a suitable number.... 5 is a little depressing. :(

It does have me curious what the "new seris of features" will be....

Five it's fine... 'Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue', 'Tinker Bell and the Mysterious Winter Woods' and 'Tinker Bell and the Race Through the Seasons' need to be good!

And you're right! We need a link between 'Tinker Bell and the Race Through the Seasons' and 'Peter Pan'...

The Tinkerbell movies are the only things keeping Disney Toon Studious alive. They are better than the best direct to video sequel. When I heard they were making the first movie I thought "Yay another movie from the Disney company." That was before I saw the direct-to-video movies than I thought. "This is going to be a pretty bad movie." My first thought was the right one. It is pretty enjoyable. I thought maybe a sequel was possible if the first made enough money. When I heard there were five movies I stopped short. Five movies is a giant number in entertainment business. I actually think that is the most a Disney company has made. Although five numbers is a giant amount of movies eight is an even greater amount which is rarely used. Thinking they almost had eight is a great accomplishment indeed. The movies themselves are pretty good but I think they should make it a TV series. It would be a hit with little girls. Anyways those are my thoughts.

A TV series would actually be a pretty decent idea, zackiellovedisney! I would totally watch that! Because I'm sure that there would be plenty of amusing nonsequiter-type stories to come out of the Hollow.... Like the myseterious "Stink Bug Incident." Hmm.....

But, yes, I suppose you're right. 5 is enough (as long as the fifth connects back to Peter Pan in some way, otherwise it won't feel quite finished yet). It just seems a little sad that we could have had twice that number, and these films are very impressive considering what I'm sure most people (myself included) assumed they would be. They're definitely the best thing to come out of DisneyToon, and we have Lasseter to thank for that. Who knows? Maybe this upcoming mystery project will be just as good!

Oh, I'm excited! I do wonder how the girl (Lizzie, is it?) will be dealt with. Will she become a friendly character, or will she be an antagonistic force.... Or maybe a little of both?

Just reading back on this thread about how the number of Tink movies has been reduced from 8-10 to jut 5 :( I missed that news when you guys talked about it the first time !

Isnt John Lassater really involved with the whole series though; shouldnt it be up to him how many Tink movies get made ?

Also, I finally got around to watching the deleated scenes on Tink 1 last night, and had some thoughts .........

There was no explanation given as to why there were so many changes in these deleated scenes. Queen Clarion, Fairy Mary, Pixie Hollow, Tinker Bell's eyes ...... they all had something completely different about them ! Whether it was voices or design, still different. Tink was mute, so I guess we can presume its because the late Brittany Murphy had recorded dialogue for the early stages of the movie. This would have been a perfect place to exaplain to us why so much was changed, as I dont think we have been made fully aware the extent of how much was changed and why.

And is Tink 3 still on track for release this Winter ? (shouldnt it be the Summer though, if we are going with the seasons theme ?)

Ok, so those deleted scenes actually came from a previous, fully-completed version of the film. It was made by DisneyToon with very little supervision. When Lasseter saw it, he basically had a fit, saying it was a horrible film and virtually "unwatchable." Luckily, it was cancelled and started over from scratch: Tink is more on-model, the Pixie Dust Tree and Queen Clarion are more beautiful and classy, instead of "kids movie"-ish, Fairy Mary's outfit has been improved (as has Iridessa's), and, most importantly, the plot is much more concise and well-done.

And Tink 3 is coming out this fall, same as the others have been.

Oh, that's the little girl from the teaser trailer, huh? Was she not in the films so far?

And the deleted scenes you're talking about- do you know if they're online somewhere? I'm curious to see a bit of the previous version of the film (even though I haven't seen either film yet), and I'm having a hard time finding a video.

No. In fact, we've seen no humans in the series yet (except for the baby that gives Tink her life and a really cute and clever cameo that you may or may not have hard about).

It seems that her name is Lizzie, and the basic plot of the third film is that she's spotted and kidnapped Tink in the hopes of revealing fairies to the scientific community.

Sorry amy, I've had a good old hunt on the internet, but I cant find any video for it. I'll try uploading it for you :) But, if you can, please give the films a chance; just rent them to see what you think. I'm sure you would enjoy them !

Just realised ! One of the deleated scenes was included in the initial trailers .... where Tink and her friends are all getting Pixie Dust for the first time. I'll have a look for you Amy; you can see how different Tink's face is, compared to what they ended up with.

Thank you Margos :) But I know that it was changed due to John and everything, just wondering why that was never even mentioned on the DVD release. I mean, they don't have to say "Oh, the original was a bit rubbish, so we chucked out this version and started again.." Just a bit of explanation would be nice. Though having deleated scenes on a Tinker Bell DVD was a bonus anyway, DTV never normally have anything so substantial. Ariel's Beginning I think was one of the better DTV DVD releases; actually talking into account that older people may in fact be watching a Disney Princess film shock horror ! :o
