Please can someone post pictures from the "Mickey's Wonderland" trailer? The UK disc didn't have it on.

I just watched the DVD and I think Disney has taken a step in the right direction. They didn't edit the film, it had decent features and the restoration was very well done. Hopefully, Sleeping Beauty will be even better. It was interesting to see Jock, Lady, Peg and the Bulldog from Lady and the Tramp. (Can we also see the Tramp? I think there is a silhouette of Tramp.) Jock, Peg, (Trusty?) and Pongo were also in Oliver & Company! It's cool how they include them to pay tributue to those films. :) I'd have to say 101 Dalmatians is definitiely worthy of it's Platinum status.

I would rank this above "Peter Pan" but below "The Jungle Book" features-wise...

But, hey, at least the transfer is great. And the menus are pretty sharp, I feel. I dig the puppies who jump in front of the screen on disc two. Also, I haven't seen this movie in years, so I look forward to checking it out later tonight.

I'm just curious- I remember when "Peter Pan" came out, we were making lists of pre-existing bonus features that could have been included, and other features they ought have made for it. So, since "101 Dalmatians" is not a movie I know very well, what would you guys think should be included on disc two, either pre-existing or something you'd like them to whip up?

I agree, it is disgusting. I only like his sketches of Helga from Atlantis.

I got the DVD today, and went I first saw it, it does have the new Walt Disney Pictures logo shown on a Platinum Edition DVD. I have never seen that new logo when it was first appeared on a PE DVD. The last Platinum Edition DVD was "The Jungle Book" and it does have the 1990 old WDP logo and it was the last time that this old logo was retired. "The Aristocats" was also the last DVD to have the old logo shown.

I'm so glad to have the WDP new logo on the "101 Dalmatians" PE DVD. Kudos to Disney for putting that up. The VHS copy (which was the "Black Diamond" not "Masterpiece") I do have had the 1990 WDP logo shown. "Sleeping Beauty" will be coming out in October and they will still have the new logo appear.

 No! I don't like it in front of vintage content, and I certainly hope I won't be seeing it in front of Sleeping Beauty, or I'll barf.

How come nobody's fussing about it? :?

It's the new CGI logo? How does that transist to the animation? It wouldn't seem natural to me.

I like the new logo, too.

I really enjoyed seeing this film again. The transfer is great. The look and sound are so sharp. As I was watching the film I kept thinking how so many of the images on the screen would make great artwork for my walls. :) I really like the style and coloring. I have to say I've enjoyed the bonus features more with this release than any other of the releases in the last couple of years. "Redefining the Line" was really interesting. So I'm quite happy with this release.

you know I know it isn't a big deal, but to me when I had all those tapes when I was a kid that blu castle logo/music cue were VERY iconic.....why ditch it in the animated films?

I was watching this film with my brother tonight - and he said where is the blue castle?

Those interviews are fantastic!

whats wrong with slapping the new logo on vintage films? they slapped the white blue castle in the 80s and 90s to it..it makes no difference..but do not change the ones on existing 80s and 90s movies..because the logo matches with the music cues for some of them. ok one question..does this mean the WALY DISNEY ANIMATION STUDIOS LOGO is also in front of 101 dalmatians ala meet the robinsons?

This one does not have the Walt Disney Animation Studio logo, that's only for "Meet the Robinsons". My VHS copy as I said of "101 Dalmations" does have the old logo, but on the PE DVD, it does not, it had the new logo shown at the beginnning and at the end which it does show "Walt Disney Pictures" where a star trailing around the CGI castle in just 2 seconds. That is why it got plastered over it.

This is the first time that a new logo was plastered over the old logo. "Sleeping Beauty" is the next Platinum Edition DVD to come out which will also be plastering over the old logo.

I took the liberty of making a video of the full audio of the Kanine Krunchies Jingle from the soundtrack CD and putting it on YouTube, accompanied by a still photograph of the soundtrack CD cover. I figured I'd do this since you can't really hear the jingle that well during the film. :D

I read about 101 Dalmatians having the new logo on the review here at UltimateDisney and I was a bit shocked. I then watched the film, saw the logo, and personally didn't mind it. I don't think it took anything away from the film at all. You gotta admit, it is a stunning intro sequence.
I have to agree with you akhenaten. This is an old movie. It did not have the white castle on its original release, so why include it? It still has its original BUENA VISTA logo, so I'm happy about that. I also hope that the movies that were originally released with the white castle, even if it isn't part of the intro music, will still have them included.

OFF TOPIC: Has anyone else noticed this. The official '101 Dalmatians' web site is registered under '101dalmations.com". Look carefully, they spell dalmatians: dalmati-O-ns. I found that kind of funny.
Also if you try to go to '101dalmatians.com', that's with an "A", there is no such site. I guess not many people know how to spell dalmatians properly. I have to admit I was one of them a few months ago. *blush*
