atlanticaunderthesea wrote:Why on earth is Cinderella going to be in the next volume of 'Enchanted Tales'? WHY ? I am so happy Mulan is there, but why Cinderella? She has already had a 3rd movie come out, a new special edititon of her 2nd movie . . . . why does she need to be in this as well? Why could they not have placed Belle, Snow White or Pocahontas there instead? I know they wernt going to use Ariel, as her 3rd movie is coming out soon; but why does Cindy get the slot instead?

I love Cinderella, but I'm feeling right now that she is being shoved down my throat by disney, and being over - promoted.

Oh well; at least the line is continuing, and we get a new Mulan story. That should give hope for a Pocahontas one as well!
I think they want to realese things about her once in a year since she's the franchise's icon.

I also download the film. And here's my review

Aurora's story:

I agree with the majority on many points about this one. For starters, everyone's voice acting was kinda....well weak. Aurora was slightly out of personality but not as much as others here have said. In the original she was bit happy and goody shoe a bit like here. This however kinda force it down your throats.

The story was rather weak as well, but again, not as much people can do on Aurora as they can with Jasmine, I think.

I did, however, love the exploration of the castle such as the garden and such. The original didn't do much of that.

I was bit put off on the magic wand using. It did help with the essensce of what the story was trying to say but felt they could of find an alternative. It also lead me dislike wand using when Aurora played with it and made the hideous ballgown. Just stay in your night gown ok?

Keys to the Kingdom was bit ok. Some odd reason I like those men(gardner and chef) that were singing behind Aurora. I dunno why. Just did.

One thing I AM happy with is the few air time on the faries unlike the original movie. this gave Aurora time to shine(though a bit weak).

As for Jasmine's story, that was better than I thought.

I was put off by the kid being able scare Rajah away. That was plain stupid.

I was also slightly put off on two points on Jasmine in certain things:

1. her animation. She was bit off model couple time that made me go "sigh...."

2. her voice. Didn't sound as tough or cool girl as she was in the movie and even the sequels.

Overall I love her story better and her bath scene  lol.

Oh and Aladdin's mother appears! Had bigger role than I thought! Plus it reveal Aladdin had a younger brother Hakeem! HOLY MOLEY! lol Aladdin must of shove his family into the palace building now.

One other funny thing I thought was that when I saw the school and fact that it was within the palace walls and there were many kids there, i thought the Sulten must of had one hell of a harem of wives get that many kids. LOL he's a pimp!

Oh and Iago was cool.

Hmmm, she's not Aladdin's mother, she's a sarvent in the palace and if i"m not worng-someone here said that there's a book saying that she helped Jasmine escape from the palace in Aladdin.
And Haleem is not Aladdin's brother (if he had a brother i"m sure Abu wasn't his friend-Aladdin whould have to take care of his brother insted of stealying food with a monkey).

I was joking. Especially on Aladdin's mother bit. If you have seen "Proud of your Boy" scene, then you would know the joke on Aladdin's mother's design.

In the preview for the next volume of Enchanted Tales (feat. Cinderella and Mulan),

Does it say the release date?

Do they show the new songs by Cinderella and Mulan? (like in the trailer of Follow your Dreams)

Hold on, hold on...
just because the book in the beginning of Vol.1 shows Cinderella and Mulan you people think they're going to be feautured in Vol.2? I mean of course it's a possibility but you make it look like it's official. It's NOT!!! We still don't know who the next princesses of Enchanted Tales will be. Belle also is included in that "book" and don't forget there is one more Aurora story waiting to be released (I think!). So we'll have to wait and see.

p.s. I LOVED "I've got my eyes on you", that incredible song in Jasmine's story! It can't be compared to "Peacock princess" or "Keys to the Kingdom"! It's just breathtaking!

Because in Follow your dreams there's a preview for the vol.2 of Enchanted Tales

Review of the DVD:
The disc opens with previews for The Jungle Book: Platinum Edition, Enchanted, My Friends Tigger & Pooh: Super Sleuth Christmas Movie, and Little Einsteins: Race For Space. From the menu, you are given the privilege of viewing additional trailers for Meet the Robinsons, Tinker Bell, High School Musical 2: Extended Edition, and more Disney Princess Enchanted Tales (a yet-to-be-titled disc with Cinderella and Mulan stories), and a Disney Parks promo.

And no, we still don't have a trailer for TLM 3 :(

The back cover has a small pic of Aurora with the expression "I have a Magic Wand and I'm __NOT afraid to use it___!"

Well, due to my undieing love for Sleeping Beauty and EVERYTHING connected to it I got this DVD today.

Here is what is going through my head after watching this tonight. Overall I expected more for Aurora's story. I felt that since we never got to really discover her character in the original film that Disney could've done a lot more than make her out to be what she turned out to be. Yes, she was silent and asleep for most of her original film, but I think she still gave off a character. She was someone who was very curious about the world around her and she had dreams and aspirations. Sure, she didn't seem like the adventurous type but what if we were to put her in a situation that she had to fight herself out of. I dunno, I feel like Enchanted Tales dumbed her down a ton. You'd never believe she was 16 in the original, you'd guess maybe 18-20ish. In this though she seems more like 14. I think kids will be left confused a bit when they watch the PE of this in '08 after being exposed to this. Maybe they should've just left her alone. :(

On the other hand, I like Jasmine's story a lot better. Although, once again, I think she was dumbed down a lot. An example is the charades with Abu section. She was able to connect the half eaten fig on the ground to Abu but when he's acting it out she can't figure it out for a while...

There are a few things I have to praise though...
-The songs! I really liked all of them. It was also really nice that they were new and original. Belle's "music video" was a great song too. I can't really complain much in this dept.
-The Backgrounds! Wow! I mean, they weren't up to far with the originals at all, but sheesh they got as close as they could with what they had. I loved how you can see so much detail in everything around Aurora. The bricks in the wall were all touched up to look like stone, there was details in the trees, the castle looked very similar as well. Agraba was in the same sence as nice. I was just really impressed with it.

I don't need to get this DVD, because it's a girl's movie, "Disney Princess: Enchanted Tales" has Jasmine and Aurora.

It has two new stories, just like the same format as "The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad", another 2-in-1 Disney film from 1949 and "Fun & Fancy Free" from 1947.

I've seen the promo for this 2-in-1 movie including the first "Sleeping Beauty" story in 47 years as well as another "Aladdin" story with Jasmine.

I love those two films, if this movie comes out, I will not pick this one up.

Eh, I'm selfish. I love the idea of the E.T. following Aurora & Jasmine. I know I'll be buying the Cinderella & Mulan version of Enchanted Tales. Why? Because both featured heroines have been in the five Disney movies I have watched and re-watched probably more than any others. (It's true! I am also a Mulan fanatic!)

Flame me if you wish, but there was a part of me that wanted to see more Cinderella as the last credits rolled away this February. There isn't truly any new story telling merchandise, sans a picture book and a coloring book about the third movie. Ah, and a one page comic strip from Disney Adventures magazine that doesn't really count. The rest isn't truly new, it's mostly books from shortly after 2002. So yes, I'll be happy with this "Enchanted Tale," and even more happy to see a Mulan story follow.

--Edit:--

I just read a hilarious review for Aurora's tale in the newly released film. I have yet to see it, and in fact wasn't planning to. Still, do you think renting it would bring me "much lulz and amusement"?

Disney Princess Enchanted Tales

REALLY? Is it the one where Gus and Jaq are escaping Lucifer that came out around the Platinum Edition of Cinderella, or was it around Cinderella III and something different?! I remember when Cinderella II came out there was a short comic where the mice got the Fairy Godmother's wand and turned into different animals (which was a lot like another story in a book I own somewhere), but it was after Cinderella moved into the palace.

Do you have the comic? Could you send me scans through E-mail? And I didn't know you were a Mulan fan. Nice music, but otherwise not that crazy about it. My cup of tea is the traditional European princesses. Who actually are princesses. Mulan is a heroine, and didn't marry the emporer's son or anything like that. She's not a princess. She's better (but less what I'm into).
