It's a great movie, you should upgrade to the DVD for the nice extras.TheSequelofDisney wrote: I've never seen Old Yeller. I have the VHS, but I've never seen it.

As we mentioned before, TheSequelofDisney was saying that "all of the older movies, well, older than PotC2, will have the logo from the 80s till now." As of last week, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Chest" came out in theatres and yes, the new logo was born, many people saw it, but I don't think the new Walt Disney Pictures logo is going to be on "The Little Mermaid" Platinum Edition DVD. It's not happening. Stick with the retired 2D logo.

I loved the new logo from PotC: DMC, but I would much rather perfer the old 2-D 80s version for the PE of TLM, let's hope it does.

A random comment. I just looked in my local paper here in Buffalo and tomorrow night downtown the Buffalo Philharmonic is doing a show entitled "Hollywood Pops: From Disney to Star Trek". They're doing themes from lots of movies and tv shows. The big thing is that two people that are performing are Burke Moses who voiced Gaston & Jodi Benson who voiced Ariel! I'm so so mad that I didn't know about this. I would've loved to go and possibly have met her! Oh well, I just wanted to give my little rant somewhere so I figured I'd come on here.

They must mean from the broadway show or some other stage show version then. I just looked in the paper and it says featuring Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid & Burke Moses, the voice of Gaston from Beauty & The Beast.lord-of-sith wrote:Didn't Richard White voice Gaston?Lucylover1986 wrote:Burke Moses who voiced Gaston.

That's right! The blue logo was the original, but it still appears in "The Little Mermaid" DVD which will be coming out. Don't draw any conclusions on the new 3D logo, it doesn't fit and it doesn't look right. The blue 2D logo is where they staying on "The Little Mermaid", but don't change it!MerXAN wrote:TheSequelofDisney wrote:I also prefer the castle with the blue background. Oh, we are? 'Cause I was starting to think that we were also getting it in November since Asia and Europe usually have the same release date (I live in Israel). Anyway, even if we *were* getting it in November here, I would immediately pre-order my copy from Amazon.com... Waiting another month is more than I can handleMerXAN wrote:omg...That's bad. One more month? I'm glad that here in Asia, we'll have it on October.

Same goes for me!! I keep counting down the days 'till October and comforting myself that screencaptures and reviews will pop up a month prior. What I'm most eager to know is how Disney restored the film. Whether it received the standard restoration visible in 'Bambi' or the 'redrawing' treatment of BATB & TLK. If the latter is true, I'm in heaven. TLM has a decent number of scenes that need some redrawing. Of-course, it all depends on whether Disney is using the IMAX version that they prepared a few years ago ('cause that was the reason for the redrawing to begin with).Waiting for this dvd is going to be the death of me. I'm just sooo excited.
In what consists that technique of re-drawing?rodis wrote:Same goes for me!!
