Hmm... Play doesn't say whether those Pixar sets have the Collector's Edition of each film in their proper aspect ratios. I believe the UK Monsters Inc. was 4:3 pan & scan.

WOW those pop-up covers are GREAT! I have never seen this before isn't it a brand new kind of dvd packaging??

The pop-up scenes all looks great, but the covers to the pixar box sets are terrible!

This is indeed war of the retailers... This is really interesting, seems like BVHE UK finally got it together... this me reminds me of the good old days with UK Disney exclusives...

1) That 101 Dalamatians cover looks rather dull. But then it's in ultra low resolution. It'd be more sensible to judge it when we get a bigger pic.

2) Aristocats 1 Disc? Disappointing. :( I will only double dip on this if it provides the film in widescreen and more impressive video (the previous UK edition was not bad, but it did look a bit soft in places). Gotta love the cover art though (is O'Malley off model?). It feels very artistic. Moreover, that "A Walt Disney [wiggly]Jazzy[/wiggly] Classic" banner is very classy.

Given Disney UK have a history of advetising 2 disc sets and not delivering the goods *cough*Tarzan*cough* perhaps this is a hint of what may eventually come to pass in the land of the free.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I've pretty much given up all hopes for The Aristocats: Special Edition being a 2-disc DVD here in the States. All the signs point to only a single edition: especially the changes to the website and the trailer, taking out all signs indicating 2-disc treatment.

By the way, those 2-film limited edition box sets look rather cool!

I hardly think The Aristocats cover looks classy. It's way too pink to me. i'll still buy the DVD for the widescreen version (if it turns out to be, as a suspect), and the Great Cat Family excerpt.

Hopefully the Aristocats gets the treatment it deserves whether that's 2-Disc or not, I like that cover though, it's jazzy

Yey, got an e-mail from Play saying that my copy of The Jungle Book has been shipped. Here's hoping that it arrives on Saturday instead of Monday.

When somebody receives the UK Box Set this week, it would be appreciated if some further pics and details could be uploaded if possible!

Well it's here and bizarrely retains the platinum edition banner. Not classics logo anywhere.

The box is identical to the Snow White giftset.

As for the book?

Well quite frankly it's crap.

It has about 50 screencaps from the film or possible cel setups.

Crap.

It looks like they forgot the words on the left-hand pages.

Typical BVHEUK. I'm going to submit a formal complaint.

Flaws or not ITS GREAT that R2 finally gets a disney gift set...

I hope BVHE UK will continue issuing gift sets... I also kinda like that it says PE hope this is a permanent change... The cover looks great just a shame they has put the ratings on the big box too is this a rule in the UK or is it enough to just put it on the case cover??

The book is a bit crap really but oh well. The box and the slipcover for the dvd look fantastic so I'm still happy enough.

BVHEUK have gotten to lazy to even include a proper booklet. All I got was a Disneyland christmas thing, and advertisements for Surcare (with a 25p off coupon ) and King Parrot Smoothies :|=

Oh and the other day I seen heaps of two-packs like the Pixar ones above but Disney Classics in the Disney Store
